Cicero can't be the adoring fan 1. Cicero is not immortal thus not 200+ years old 2. Cicero killed the grand champion 3. The Champion of Cyrodiil, grand champion of the arena, arch mage of the arcane university, grandmaster of the fighters guild, divine crusader, gray fox... There is another reference that just some dozen of people was able to realize... Sinderion, a alchemist that lives on a Inns basement, in Chorrol (i think so), can ben found on Blackreach, as an dead skeleton... Searching It, you will be able to read his notes, and then, "A Return to your Roots" side quest begins.
He lives in Skingrad in the West Weald Inn's basement. I think it's funny that you have to search Nirnroot in both games and both related to Sinderion.
Yirzm, Sheogorath specifically mentions the Battle of Kvatch and the Battle of the Imperial City, and it is already canon that the events of Shivering Isles happened, which ends with the Champion of Cyrodiil becoming the new mad-god. So yes, it is confirmed.
There is one cross reference missing: Amaund Motierre (Skyrim - The Silence Has Been Broken/Hail Sithis!) and Francois Motierre (Oblivion - The Assassinated Man). The Motierre Family is involved a lot in the Dark Brotherhood questline. Also in ESO there is another Motierre, Mirabelle Motierre!
In the Soul Cairn, one of the tormented souls is Jiub, the guy you encounter at the start of Morrowind. When you speak to him, he mentions he was killed and soul-trapped by a Dremora during the siege of Kvatch.
Занудный Лис that's not what I meant I meant when graenolf went and clipped through the wall and everything that was unnecessary you killed him later in the game anyway
Luna - Core It was just a little Easter egg by the developers, it isn't canonical that Cicero was the adoring fan, after all the adoring fan was a wood elf anyway.
Came for Graenolf, stayed for "Oyfum" somebody needs to make a mod for that, it'll make the journey in the Soul Cairn much enjoyable. imagine walking past a soul and it just says "oyfum" lol
Cicero isn't the Adoring Fan. It's a neat reference, but those two characters are not the same. Besides, we all know that the Champion of Cyrodiil went on to become the Mad God, and wouldn't have been roaming around Cyrodiil 187 years after the Oblivion Crisis. By then he/she would have lost his/her identity completely to the madness and Deadric power.
Fancy seeing you here. You're doing a great job with Skyblivion lately from what I've seen in the streams, I'm looking forward to playing it someday. Good luck.
I hated the painting quest, I was really low level when I went in, and I didn't know you could adjust the difficulty level at the time, so it was super freaking hard, and I actually neglected to kill one of the trolls, so when I completed the quest, the troll actually escaped out of the painting, needless to say I took my reward and ran as fast as could out of the house, leaving the couple that lives there to whatever fate the troll had in store for them... Believe it or not, but this is actually a true story lol I think it was probably a glitch, but it actually happened to me, I was really freaked out...
King Media Theres a dark elf in the soul cairn in skyrim who is the first guy you see in Morrowind. He moved to oblivion and was near to the oblivion gate to Kvatch when it opened in elderscrolls 4
yeah but when you consider that what he said in skyrim. He is still remembers what he has done in oblivion, so he is still alive but with the character of the old Sheogorath.
"If you would like to join me, please paint yourself some little tickets to come on board my boat." Idk, this was just the cutest thing I've ever heard. Loved the video and your channel! :)
Would it be possible to do another hidden movie references in Skyrim? I just love those kinds of things! I also love your channel. I think these videos are really well made and creative. Keep it up and thanks for making me smile :)
How about for a future video "Top 5 disgusting sounds in Skyrim". I'm sure there are four others somewhere in the game besides collecting mammoth cheese...
In the soul cairn, you meet the soul of a dark elf named jiub. You get a quest called "impatience of a saint". If you actually talk to him and go through the dialogue, you find out that he was one of the citizens of kavatch in oblivion. He was killed by a deadra. It's pretty interesting to know that he was in one of the groups of people trying to fight in kavatch.
4:18 was rather the opposite for my Grand Champion. I didn't kill him, though... I left him in the town of Hackdirt. The underground to be specific. Then I took him from there and left him in Oblivion. I closed all the portals shortly after. I know it isn't The Hero of Kvatch, but I thought it was funny worth noting. I only wish I could do that to Preston, too...
The troll in the Dark Brotherhood Dawnstar lair when you're tracking down Cicero, but that's been a theme since Morrowind that was carried on to Oblivion and then Skyrim.
IN the soul chairn you meet the guy on the prison boat in tes 3 and says he died in kavatch and if you go there you can find his severed head (in the building across form the church
St Jiub in the Soul Cairn. Yes, it’s more of a reference to Morrowind, but you also find out from his dialogue that he died at the beginning of the siege of Kvatch.
When I first meet the Adoring Fan, I lead him into an Oblivion Gate. Somehow he survived it so I told him to stop following me and shut the game on him.
There is also a line you can see on a load screen which says: ["I saw some mudcrabs today, I steered clear of them." - unknown] which is a reference to the line a lot of npcs in oblivion said
I absolutely love watching these Elder Scrolls videos (Skyrim makes up a big part of my life); It's amazing to see other people's top 5s/top 10s, and kinda compare them to mine. Keep doing your thing Graenolf!
Man, I gotta' say it... If you're going swimming, why do you need a boat, lol. Great vid, too many people mention the giant mud crab remains but not Kyne's quest.
Half of the lines Mai'q throws at you are references to older games: Liek he doesn't remember being a child (no children in Oblivion) Or how some say the people in Skyrim are better looking than those in Cyrodiil (The newer engine clearly let's the game look better) He is carrying two weapons (dual wielding in skyrim and no need to repair anymore) Same about dual casting. A reference to the removed school of mysticism, fixed atrributes, the addition of beards, more voice actors, etc.
another two refernces are in the soul cairn theres a line of dialouge that says ''I wonder if the fires are still burning in the imperial city" and this refers to the end of the oblivion crisis. and another is well Sheogorath.
The Assassinated Man is a quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This mission is different from the other Dark Brotherhood missions in that the Hero doesn't kill anyone, but is instead helping a man fake his death. An underworld crime boss wants Francois Motierre dead, so they are sending an enforcer to kill him. Vicente will give the Hero a Languorwine Blade that will not kill Motierre but will make him appear dead when stabbed. If the Hero kills Hides-His-Heart, the bonus will be forfeit. Amaund Motierre {descendant of Francois Motierre} is a Breton appearing in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. He plays a role in the final quests of the Dark Brotherhood questline, seeking the assassination of the current Emperor, Titus Mede II.
You forgot about how in the soul cairn you can find a dark elf, a dark elf who is in fact the first thing you see in Morrowind, the reason why I bring him is because you can find him in the soul cairn, and he brings up how he was writing a book about his great deeds in Kvatch when he suddenly died during the first daedric attack, thereby connecting all 3 games. He even has a quest I never finish where you gotta find his missing pages in the soul cairn.
The line from the souls in the Soul Cairn isn't the only reference to that quest. If you use the right line of dialogue, the alchemist in Riften will actually mention painted troll fat, the almost-unique alchemy ingredient obtained from the trolls in that quest.
Nah, Cicero didn’t killed the “hero of kvach” as he became the listener and later the sheogorath itself, but he might have killed the next grand champion after the previous just vanish (since it became the madgod)
Pleace make top 5 of brynjolf!!! Especially if you can explain the rumors of Him and Vex!!! I need to know if there is or was anything there... ANYTHING!
I so totally agree Patty Sanchez! I need to know if something spicy went on with those two! Please if there is any info on this mysterious couple i would love to hear it!!! Great videos btw
Theres a really good one you missed, to the west of solitude you can find a tall stick with green shrubbery growing on its arms. And when you break out of the prison in oblivion you can find the same thing in front of you. I think its some sort of monument to sheogorath.
R.i.p Lucien and his ball's. Also very funny. "Maybe he died of old age, or maybe he was hung upside down with his ball's cut off, I don't know I'm just spit balling here. Lol you forgot to say he was flayed 😜
Whoa, the brush comment tying in with the quest in Oblivion - mind-blown due to forgetting that. Although I recall remembering that a long time ago, even though it’s been a while since I actually played my PC Oblivion. I feel kinda sad because with the new Elder Scrolls coming in the next few years, it hurts to think they could see M’aiq dead. 😢

And fuck that quest all the way to Coldharbour.
Interesting
In his journal he mentions the hero of kvatch as helping him collect enough nirnroot
sheogorath is the character that you played in oblivion
Thompsonator469 Yeah-- I doubt he'd remember all the events listed here, though... xD
It's not confirmed
Yirzm yes it is in oblivion shivering isles dlc
Yirzm, Sheogorath specifically mentions the Battle of Kvatch and the Battle of the Imperial City, and it is already canon that the events of Shivering Isles happened, which ends with the Champion of Cyrodiil becoming the new mad-god. So yes, it is confirmed.
also Sheogarath's luggage was in oblivion as well, his servant, Dervenin, or it's at least rumored

RDeathmark yep
And how does that prevent his son from appearing? Guy has only been there for 11 years.
Занудный Лис that's not what I meant I meant when graenolf went and clipped through the wall and everything that was unnecessary you killed him later in the game anyway
Oh xD, yeah, you have a great quest in DB to kill him )
After watching this video I took the adoring fan to the forest and murdered him I'm not taking any chances
Overripe Llama Well you killed an innocent. Cicero is imperial. Adoring fan is Wood elf
But wasn't Oblivion 200 years before? Cicero is OLD man
It could have been a different brotherhood member with the same goal
Luna - Core It was just a little Easter egg by the developers, it isn't canonical that Cicero was the adoring fan, after all the adoring fan was a wood elf anyway.

I think one of the greatest satisfactions of Oblivion was getting to kill Valen Dreth during the Dark Brotherhood questline
Also, maybe an idea could be "Top 5 Returning Characters" (alive or dead?)
lost_ pandachu sinderion (died in blackreach), lucien lachance (as spectral assasin), dervenin.
Neloth, Sheogorath
Hermaous Mora too?
Daedric princes doesnt count cus they are in all games since Daggerfall
Does anyone else wish Graenolf and The Cantina would do a collaboration video?
The crazy beggar in Solitude that gives you the Sheogorath quest is also in Oblivion, iirc.

In the shivering isles dlc you become more sheogorath so if he killed you in the forest since your a daedric Prince you can't actually die
Dude, your content is superb. The commentary is funny and colorful, and your voice is VERY nice. Subbed!
St Jiub in the Soul Cairn. Yes, it’s more of a reference to Morrowind, but you also find out from his dialogue that he died at the beginning of the siege of Kvatch.
