Couple of things: love the larger image of cards . Also, I thought that you create element at the end of the turn, thus my understanding is that you don’t have to use the existing dark element before creating another one. For example, you can create the new dark and then consume the previous one while the new dark is created at the end of your turn.
You are correct. Forgot we house ruled this to make the game harder. We also house ruled advantage because we hated the real rule. Thanks for calling that out, I have edited the video!

@@neuralnetgames6540 Oh man it sucked! It's the merchants level with the trees. My wife played the brute for the first time and we got slammed. VERY MINOR SPOILERS BELOW: Just unlocked this character. I’m by no means a great player, but we went through 6 scenarios yesterday and didn’t lose once. The other player even exhausted way early in one and I basically soloed the end for about 5-7 turns, stopping to waste a turn to grab a treasure chest too. Played the solo scenario this AM and crushed it first try without any difficulty whatsoever (definitely not my experience with other characters). What a beast of a character. I know all of the tier lists have him S tier and now I understand why - he reaches god tier with the right items . Delete button - short rest - delete button - stam potion - delete button - mana potion or elemental wand (I’m carrying 2 wands for element generation - one for dark and one other) - delete button - empowering talisman to get stam potion back - delete button ad infinitum - and the enemies can never target you because the character is always invisible (and I carry the cloak for backup). And now I have the solo scenario reward for the character- YIKES!!! The only drawback I see so far with him is somewhat limited mobility but it looks like the level 9 card helps with that too. I’m starting to dread retiring...
He is definitely very powerful! struggles against bosses and named monsters but outside of that he can really trivialize scenarios that have powerful elites! Thanks for commenting on your experience!

hahah fair enough deleting a room is slightly hyperbolic, but it is still extremely strong. At level 9 you are probably on at least scenario level 4 and the average hp for normal monsters at that lvl is somewhere around 10. This can vary a bit depending on how much emphasis you put on shield but for this example 10 is fine. You can consistently kill 2 normal monsters, even with initial room placement, and you run into the room and insta-kill, even before they get a chance to act. This is worth 20+ dmg consistently and is 100% worth it, although not insanely overpowered. When you go in and use your hp, like I was talking about in the video, you allow the melee monsters to go aggro and surround you(shield up or something). Then play this card next turn and it is easy to get 3+ monsters, usually 4(4 player game) and that is worth 30-40 dmg on average and it is going to be super strong for you. Even in a 2 player game instantly killing a couple of enemies is amazing. Instantly killing 2 monsters or more is always going to be super strong, in any scenario! How does invisibility actually work? Hard to find this info, my understanding of it keeps changing. My group always played that if you go invisible then you stay invisible until your next turn which can be later in the round if you pick high initiative. I've played the digital version a bunch tho and there he can turn invisible and then attack stuff and stay invisible. But then start of next round he's visible again. So 2 things I didn't expect. Staying invisible during long rests works as expected at least.
The rules state you are invisible until the END of your next turn. So let's say you go invisible in your first move of Round 2. You will then be invisible until you finish your turn on Round 3. As such, it's recommended to go as early as possible on one round, then go as late as possible on the next so that ideally you're invisible for two sets of monster attacks.
@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork Ye that much makes sense. Can't remember where I was with my understanding 11 months ago. In my group we never abuse invisibility to stall an entire room's initiative. That's breaking the game. Glad they're changing that in frosthaven.

Hey. I think the voidwarden is the ideal companion for this class. Obviously generates a great deal of dark. Can also help the shroud’s terrible positioning. Also gives strong attacks and generally has good utility. I also have to say…generally I think nightshroud is overrated for a few reasons. Certainly he has the strongest level one card in the game and a very strong level 6 card. But overall I think I can do more utility and overall damage actually for a typical four party team with sawbones, Sun or berserker. He’s often rated as S tier. I don’t agree. I think at best he’s A and you could make a case for B. I don’t hate the character, just not my fav. I will also plug sawbones here…my favorite character. He is awesome and completely underrated
Agree. Shroud is quite slow, a bit cumbersome with his combos, and something of a one trick pony. Its a cool theme and all but it has less overall value in most comps than saw, sun, or bolt
