My friend and I recently started playing Scythe, one important thing that (in my opinion must be added) is that players should watch for combat, if not careful players can get very very easily 2 stars from combat and end the game very fast. If we (all of the players on the board) play the game more passively some of them can reach 3 even 4 stars very fast, and then in next few turns combat could end the game immediately.

ah see my game group says it that way too. I say it the way Jamie says it and I kept feeling like I was the crazy one ha. Not that it matters but they are men so they all look at me like I am the wrong one.

There is one disadvantage with playing a loss card early that you didn't touch upon: You get less cards to choose from for the rest of the scenario. This loss of option value is significant and should sway you to burn cards early less often than if you did not take this into consideration. However, of course I agree it can still be worth to play the loss early in the right circumstance.

Where is bladeswarm?

Autoturrets has range 5 so even i you have an adjacent enemy it will attack another enemy at range 5 without disadvantage

I'm thinking the value of being able to use every attack or move as a heal is that you can bring more of those cards and leave behind anything dedicated to healing since you can use whatever for that in a pinch.

Can GH be played multihanded solo. Is it as fun as a group play.

I'm not sure why you say that Delaying 4 damage is bad.. When you know that you cannot reach an enemy this turn, you can buff yourself for the next time, so you don't lose any damage output

advantage: pick the card you like Naturally there is a rule how to handle advantage that is relevant for monster/allies, but when you have advantage then it does not make sense to not simply pick whatever you like.

Very much agree with the bosses! Worst part of the very beautiful game! There should be only boss scenarios with much heavier and stronger bosses

Empathetic assault is great. Solid initiative quite a useful oneshot on the top. But the best part is the bottom. Heal self is handy, move 2 is very often is just enought. So it can be used just for moving around. This card starts to shine then you enhance heal with blessing option. The Rat can decrease modifier deck to only 12 cards, with additional two +1 damage redraw cards. So blessings would have much higher chances to proc. Even with damage 1 attack you will do 6-8 damage on x2 from blessing, up to 10 with posion on target. This greatly synergies with Brain leech bottom action.

As i understand, currative aerosol is four actions so it consumes two charges of potent potables. Update: checked the rules, your statement is correct.

do you loose Concetrated Rage if you play the bottom of the card? Also how do you get 2 attacks? Is the attack of the bear itself? how do you 2x3 plus the bear attack? not well explained!

Hey, sorry if I am late to the party, but can someone clarify the rules for shield spikes? We are playing in German and the rules leave too much room for interpretation imo. Does shield spikes only trigger once per scenario, i.e., that it only damages one enemy once when I choose to activate it? Or does it rather stay active and whenever I have shield, the incoming attacks are damaged for the shield amount? If shield spikes only triggers once per scenario, it would be borderline useless to lose a card to deal damage that is (at least in the early levels) less than a basic 2 attack, but if it remains active for each incoming attack I feel as if it were too strong. 🙈

In reality, the quartermaster is even more broken. There is a combo that nobody considers that breaks it for good. You will never be exhausted and you will always play overpowered. It's all about the lv. 3 Continuous Supply card. You retrieve two cards. It looks weak instead it breaks the game for good. Especially when you have a lot of items. Why? Basically it works like this: - Use as many items as you want from the first turn, without shame. Attack with the +2 major power potion and then add Stun, perhaps along with an axe that adds targets. Also keep re-shooting on cards with the minor and major stamina potion. it is wonderful because you can use catastrophic bomb multiple times, turn after turn. - Then you use Oversized Pack and restore all your items, including the stamina potions, so you end up being able to use +1 and +2 attacks and also re-pull on cards you use. - At this point you use Continous Supply. You pick up Oversized Pack and use it to restore all your items, including stamina potions - once more. In this way you can use stamina potion and power potion three times. This adds a lot of turns. Basically I'm using my character as if it had 12 cards, I never wear myself out, I use strong cards and strong items knowing that I can easily reuse them If I add in the fact that I carry the cloack of pockets, at that point I have so many items on the table that I keep reusing them that it's a wonder I never get exhausted. If I finally add the ring of haste (which I can use three times during the game with this method), I can practically do all the steps while playing normally. I don't think anyone has considered this crazy awesome combo that relies entirely on Continuous supply. Try it and you won't go back

I have a question for shield spikes. It has the infinite symbol, does it mean it stays in the active pile throughout the game with the same ability but lose the card from round usage?

I have played Gloomhaven for years, currently playing on Steam in seven different campaigns. I’ve played 12 of these classes in the last month, month and a half. My fave is by far the Berzerker, but I also love-love-love the Demolitionist. I disagree that he’s the worst character in the game-for me that was easily the Voidwarden. I get that he’s a little situational, but still very effective, especially in larger groups. I have played him… four times? And it’s a character that I keep coming back to because he’s just so much fun. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks. My wife and I finally got to forgotten circles. It’s hard, we didn’t like it too much at first (it’s cumbersome), but now we’re really enjoying it. For us, we just had to stick with it thru the first few scenarios.

Kinda crazy the brute in c tier? My friends and I HAD to bruteforce retirement because it dealt such ridiculous damage against multiple targets. Played with sawman and some backline damage, this class ran every scenario with ease. Which ended up being a little annoying even 😅

Я не понимаю почему вы говорите о трёх ловушках, ведь карта говорит "create one", а дальше идёт описание этой ловушки и дальность способности. Таким образом, он даже с зельем, возвращающим карту из сброса, сможет поставить лишь две ловушки аж за 2 хода и выкинутым зельем.

Nice tutorial for this class, but cards are I assume from earlier Frosthaven version, as not match what have for 2nd printing, for example is now Approach Oblivion instead of Willing Sacrifice. Assume bit much to ask for updated video, but would like such.

The problem I run into with Retaliate is that so many enemies my party faces are ranged attackers and against them it does nothing.

The scoundrel was broken when I played her. You could 1 shot bosses upwards for 70 damage in 1 attack if you had the right items and cards. Lots of fun very situational the why I played but 1 shooting bosses was always fun.

i think in the right situation with the right gear they can all be s tier or c tier. also some classes are made for 4 player party and other are more versatile. Like the summoner, plagueherald, tinkerer and soothsigner are clearly full party . The only classes that give me a bad experience when i play are nightshroud , voidwarden and elementalist and spellweaver, i dont like the over the top management. the nightshroud is too slow and has little to no move cards which irritates me. The spellweaver small deck capacity is too frustrating, planning to burn reviving the either at the right moment doesnt feel fun to me.

Cloak of pockets seems very very strong. Sure you give up armor etc but it can be both defensive/offensive and team oriented (adding elemntals out, stun...)

Is not the poison dagger a Scounderl item? You move first apply posion for an odd secnd attack AND your allies acting after you (usually most rounds). Or move last apply posion then act first next round attacking yourself?

Good stuff! When one item has been nrefed and even more nerfed again by home rule sit might be... rather powerful out of box :)
