Kam vs. Gronk was one of the best tight end-safety matchups ever.
People forget that Kam played SB49 on a freakin' torn MCL. It forced them to change so much of their defense at the last minute.
@@maevethefox5912what did they change? That defense neve moved their pieces which was actually the problem in that game
@jrad410 they had KJ covering him, especially on his TD. I agree that defense wasn't exactly complicated, but they did have game plans.
Injuries during the game really messed them up too, having to play like a 5th string CB and losing their best pass rusher.
The rivalry between these two teams was a thing of beauty.

The 2 QBs that played the best against the L.O.B was Brady and Big Ben. Sadly we didnt see those matchups much at all due to conferences. The Steelers/Seahawks game from 2015 is also an instant classic.

Every time Russ plays the Patriots it is a instant classic. 3of the 4 had goal line stands, we all know the Malcom Butler pick, this game where Chancellor broke up the Gronk past, and in 2020 when Seattle Defense stopped Cam on the last play of the game.
I was hoping this would be an upload! One of the best games that season. If only Seattle got back to the Super Bowl

2012 Seahawks were surprising. I had no expectations that year and would've been grateful for 7-8 wins. But,Seattle vs NE of '12 was just as if not more exciting than 2016. I understand the redemption story,but beating NE in 2012 when all odds were against Seattle was thrilling. Still to this day,beating Pitt in '15 & '19 isn't the same as wanting to beat Pitt in a true Super Bowl rematch.

He outplayed Brady every time he faced Brady, including in SB49. No other QB can make that claim.

I love how Gronk clearly pushes down Kam Chancellor on the 4th & Goal play and comes up looking for a flag on Chancellor when the ball fell incomplete. If anything it should have been offensive PI but since no flag was thrown against Bam Bam Kam we'll let that slide.
They should have given the ball to blunt at the end.

It's a shame really.... even though Seattle got some "revenge" for the Superbowl loss, it was a moot point.
Seattle went on to lose in the playoffs ironically against Atlanta. Then New England won the Superbowl anyway by embarrassing the shit out of Atlanta.
I could imagine Coach Pete in the locker room just before this game started saying, "Fellas, I don't care if we don't win any game the rest of the season. THIS game is the one I want to win!."

Seattle is one of the best teams in the last 20 years. 3 Super bowl appearances, well over 10 Playoff appearances and havent had only had a handful of Mediocre semi poor years, nonhorrible 1-15, we always won games

About the Malcolm butler pick - very admirable and worthy and instinctive. Only question remains with Butler - when he got that magical pick how come he didn’t stay in the end zone where on a touchback the ball would have been on the 25 instead of the two where if not for an overzealous Seahawks defense encroaching there might very well have been a safety. Butler made an unbelievable pick and a very stupid run afterwards
He actually caught it on the 1 and in the process was pushed into the end zone, then went back to the one yard line.
This game doesn't matter, it didn't make up for the superbowl
it eased some of the pain.

Funny how after SB 49 the Seahawks haven’t even sniffed an nfc championship game. Coincidence? I think not. The Seahawks just could not arise to super bowl levels after the sb 49 loss. Meanwhile Brady after that demoralizing loss to Nick Foles in sb 52 they came back the following year to win sb 53. Very few players have had the complete laser focus mental toughness as one Tom Brady with Mahomes a close second. On a sad side note it’s interesting that after the sb loss to the niners in 1985 Dan Marino never saw himself in another sb again. He was so abundantly lethal too!
