I was in various sales jobs throughout my career. Here's the Q I asked religiously and it worked for me whether I was selling a product or a service and that included "conceptual" sales. To the owner/propeietor of the business: "If I can save you time, money or aggrevation, would you give me 10 minutes of your time in your office?" There's not a business in the world or a business owner who doesn't have one of those issues to resolve.
Bro , I think you may have just single handedly caused a breakthrough. I came out the gates ready to go this morning and test this thinking nothing of it BUT people started opening up, laughing, and being patient with me immediately. like 8/10 on the first go and two of them were wrong numbers. This is a golden nugget to be locked away in a vault lol thank you
It's been 2 years since our interview & you are still one of the only few who speaks the TRUTH!! Literally, if you do what Brandon says and internalize the script you will have success! But.... you have to MAKE THE CALLS! Thank you for everything, you've had such a huge positive impact on the growth of my business :)
Your stuff works, man. I used to work as a cold caller for over 2 years... And I remember watching your videos on repeat before my shift. I've closed multiple deals because of the stuff you teach out here (for free). Thanks, man. You're the best.
Hello, May I ask why did you stop working as a cold caller if you did a good job? You didn't like it, it wasn't good pay or the season is something else?
Love this. I want to use this in my D2D work. This is a variation of minimize in order to magnify. It gives me a way to loveably minimize my likability so the prospect will want to magnify my likability. I love it, can't wait to use it.😊😊❤
Killer study and great info all the way through. I LOVE "calling out of the blue", I've proven that type of language to work for virtually any calling. I HATE the "would you hate me" language :) . All of that said, THIS: "Hey Brandon, I know I'm calling you out of the blue, but the good news is I'm not selling anything...." It lowers their guard, AND creates curiosity. Feel free to try it!
Hi Brandon! Thank you so much for the content. I want to tell you that I started using your cold calling openers, and have been complimented on the approach at least four times in two days. I also have had conversations and leads begin because of the initial approach! Thank you so much for your content!
@@BrandonMulrenin I am going to contact you soon about hiring you as a coach because I love your approach. In fact, I had one person say, "Normally I just hang up because people go into their pitch immediately, but your opening line was great and it grabbed my attention that you were someone different."
I use the opener that you had at number 2 and from the 1st day I started prospecting and I didn’t do the math but your right that most people let me get past the opener/ first question. And had 1 appointment set and met my first week. And I doubled it my second week. Plus I have multiple buyers.
10000% I've been using this for years. Permission based openers are by far the best cold call strategy I've ever used... does take practice, knowing your tonality and having a solid "hear me out" offer to your market, but I get my pitch out 80% of the time and my apt ratio is at least 40-50% depending on the service, offer and industry... I don't like cold calling so I do my best to make that time the best return possible. and I test offers with SMS or voicemail drops.
This is so good. I’m choosing my brokerage this week as a newly licensed broker. I’m going to do this immediately! I have a sales background, but this script is gold and numbers don’t lie!!! Thank you so much for this.
This is so true. The main reason I would rather hang up or not even answer the call is because I hate dealing with pushy people. These lines show so much care for the persons time and respect for their autonomy that they just feel obligated to hear what you have to say.
Negative phrasing is a genius way to get what you want in sales. For example, a seller says "I am talking with other Realtors", don't say "well they don't know the market like I do.." or be defensive. It's funny when you say "That's a great idea! I'd do the same thing. Matter fact I'd talk to as many as I can if I were you." and it's interesting how they'll switch up their tune and start saying, "oh no I'm too busy for that.. look why don't we"
Thank you. That was great. I’m in the Insurance business and I get so many people hanging up right away. I’m going to try your script this afternoon. Again Thank you for the advice you have given me. I’m going to forward your information to and other info to a Huge number of Insurance Agents and Brokers.
Completely agree. Too often is there clickbait with other “coaches” who put out controversial content just to entice views and viewer interaction for the algorithm but Brandon actually has meaningful value.
Actually, you got ten sentences, with statistics to convey the efficacy and some tips and tricks along the way. I can't imagine you'll ever be successful with that attitude.

So many other factors involved, call display, callers voice toneaccent, customers bias and feelings, geographical and cultural norms…. The list goes on.. its not only the opening line.
You contacted 100 people with each opening line, the percentage should be a full number! 70% is 70 out 100! how did you get 70.1% or 68.5% of the times?
How interesting! I never thought we could have part of a person in a study. Those decimal percentages cleverly reflect human complexities, right? Who needs whole numbers when you can have 81.4 people in an experiment? Innovative research!
