I love Service Rifle. Fast Shot trait with Upgraded Springs mod make it really high DPS gun early game. Only issue is that weapon mod presence in merchant stock heavily relies on rng, but even then fast shot itself is enough.
True that the survivalist rifle is a great weapon in this game but this is the regular service rifle. You can tell because the sight is aligned properly while on the survivalist rifle it is of centre. Also it uses the 12.7mm which is equivalent to 50 cal which i as you can see am shooting shooting the Armor Piercing 5.56 rounds. Both guns are however based on the real life AR platform specifically the AR 15 and AR 10. AR stands for Armalite Rifle.
To add, the survivalist's rifle is based on the .50 beowulf ar15. It was used in a vehicle checkpoint in Canada to disable vehicles. I think IRL that would not be an efficient caliber to do that but that's the lore.
if the ncr troopers had proper training (like the player having proper perks) the legion would need to be even more stealthy to win battles, by far the game shows that the service rifle is not really that awfull but you the troopers using it suck terrible at using it
So true. Also just like in real life with training; ammunition selection, and proper maintenance of your rifle go a long way. Most troopers if you take thier rifles have them at half condition or worse.
The NCR troopers are given the training of a militia and the treatment of a frontline unit, if they actually gave them adecuate training the NCR would be winning most smaller engagements and not be so inefficient towards dealing with sabotage, with them only losing actual engagements. Also the ammunition selection, it's clear that the NCR has supply issues and that the legion wasn't actually deemed a large enough threat until about kimball's arrival, if you look closely to the lore you'll notice the NCR does tend to give proper equipment when the threat is obvious, for example when they fought the BoS at helios one they had actual AP munitions.

Bro weapons on fallout 4 are trash... I think Fallout 4 is funny but most of weapons looks goofy like the assault rifle, the handmade AK is good but base game weapons looks like a kindergarten kid designed it

Not 100% sure since this film is actually a couple years old but safe to assume I had "grunt" its a must have if you use the service rifle.
