You should also keep an eye on the MOS (MOSFET) temps when changing the power delivery and make sure it stays under 90C.

So the program auto detects which cpu you have? Because on your screen it says 5500u but mine is 6800h, do I need to look for my system or does it auto detect?

You must have configured a setting which is outside the limit
If a manufacturer has designed a mini pc in such a way so that the apu to go as low as, let's say, 15 tdp, can the AMD APU Tuning Utility be use to make the tdp even lower (like 12 tdp) to save more power?
That's what the battery saver preset does in AMD Tuning Utility.
I've tried the tuner and it works, however it continuously reverts back to the base tdp. I have a Ryzen 5 5500u and boosted the tdp up to 28W but anytime a play a game to test it/attempt to see it's limits it goes back to it's default 15W tdp. Does anyone know why this is happening and how i can stop it from reverting back?
Switched to the official release version it’s more stable and consistent I have a 5500u as well

id hazard a guess that it will eventually, if it doesnt alreafy. they just have to update the software to account for it
My Asus laptop having 5500u boosts to 35 watts but i see no improvement in FPS. So power is not the limit. Its the limit of GPU which has low VRAM & cant be overclocked above 1800Mhz. Even if you are able to overclock the GPU, it will increase the heat generated in the system. So i dont recommend increasing the power limit above 25 watts.
Disable the turbo boost of the processor, using the aatu and will be better
i thought the highest tdp ug 5500u is 28w?
So if I just set balanced preset and also check manually temp limit to 80 degrees, am I doing it right? I only want to don't go over 80 due to my previous cpu died of overheat :/ I tried before turning off turbo boost, but my laptop sometimes kinda laggy because of that, especially in heavy games.

@@hi-techshyam8618 yeah I've set in on 90 degrees after I found out that amd cpus work on higher temps than intel ones. No problems all this time. Also sometimes this app silently crashes and cpu work on 100c for some time (up to an hour) before I notice it, still no problems. Started to think that previous factory cpu in laptop was just defective.

will this work on a steamdeck?
if you download the older UI version, it will have presets designed for the Steamdeck. you can load them into the cutom profile maker so you can fine tune the TDP to your liking.

You can make profiles, make the normal profile as "default tdp", one for gaming, one for battery saving and so on.

@@a.n.a.r.c.h.i.s.t. Not sure if you tried it yet but. I'm confident that you can run the older stalker games. For Dead Air you're probably going to turn the settings down and use an older DirectX version.
