Dennis travels to Solvang, CA, the Danish capital of the America, for Wheels 'n Windmills. Авто/Мото
That Mercury was Badass!!
We visited Solvang back in 1978 and loved the pastries from the bakeries! We stayed at the nearby Madonna Inn, and had Anderson's split pea soup in Buellton, Love this car show!
My first car was a 1957 Desoto same model, only in salmon and white with 54,000 miles.. Purchased used in 1965 for $230.
It's hard to imagine that a Ford Coyote engine is such a tight fit in that 62 Mercury. Full size Ford/Mercury's had a huge engine bay. Love the DeSoto!!
@@aaronbays4 You are right. Any engine too wide for a full sized Ford is going to be too wide for most anything.
Beautiful Desoto. Awesome looking town. I’ll have to visit it next year that show comes around.
That Merc is absolutely perfect!
I was born in 1956 and these magnificent machines were still on the road for a few years as I was growing up in the 60s. There were even a few '55s around. They were all beautiful cars. It's a shame that American car manufacturers and so called "engineers" can't make cars with class and style anymore.
Gorgeous DeSoto
I had a green and white 59 firefly sportsman Desota….
Good Lord, was it fast …!!!!
Great video... Love the DeSoto!!!
1957 De Soto Sportsman Fireflite is the most elegance and sporty four-headlight car I have ever seen.
The 1957 Chrysler 300 was nice too. Actually, I think the Chrysler was cleaner.
You lucky man ..... What a beautiful car. The first year my father felt he was really on his feet after the war was 1959. He bought a Dodge Lancer
Thinking about going to this show.. After watching this video i am going to this show.. Thanks
You have no idea how far from being danish this town is ^_^ ... and thats a good thing lol enjoy the sun and those V8's :)
Peace from denmark.
I was there last summer. One thing it probably has in common are the prices for just about everything. Yikes! lol
@@bobjohnson205 Lol, true ^_^ the state steals 80% and food, warmth, water etc will swallow the rest ... having a life is not allowed lol ^_^
Dennis, I am glad that you now have new episodes. FINALLY!!!.
I have been watching your shows for years and years every Saturday morning.
Please, keep them coming. Awesome show 👍👍👍!
OMG Love the mid engine '52 Plymouth. Great piece of design.
Nice and fire chief
I once lived in Danish Disneyland (Solvang) about 40 years ago and I can recognize most of the shops along the main street. Even back then the town was a car club event Mecca. It is very weird that so little has changed. The Santa Ynez valley that Solvang sits in is a millionaires retreat.
the merc is to die for
"That's insane... and I respect that!"
Nice setting and terrific array of cool cars 😎
Awesome Desoto!!!
MAGNIFIQUE !! ET DE TRèS HAUTE QUALITéE !!! UN VERITABLE RÊVE !!!!
Use to drive my '72 RS/SS Camaro through there many years ago. Only car shows back then were Pismo Beach and Paso Robles once a year.
Owner: The reason it's called a Morris 8 is because it's got 8 horsepower. Dennis: 8 whole horsepower.
Loving your channel Dennis!!!
Bliss.
James Stewart drove one like that in vertigo.
the Desoto has tailights that blink upwards to signify take off !
Dennis 😬👍 I say you
Go to them festivals across America. You
Eat, visit, look cruise in some of America's finest
Muscle ,rat rod's😀👍😍
Awesome 👍 enjoy your
Program 😀👍😍
Especially when you were
In Frankenmuth, Michigan.
Quick Flash 12:50 The lines of that '57 Buick rear window is one of the prettiest ever.
That's an Oldsmobile.
@@normanduke8855
Good eye, '57 Olds Holiday Coupe. The Riviera also had similar back glass....
The home of Anderson's Split Pea Soup.
I'm from denmark, and that place is like calling disney world an accurate copy of detroit:) It looks like they found some old postcards from germany and holland in the year 1800, and tried to build it in real life. But to be honest they are still better off, the real denmark is just crappy weather, high gas prices, and small euro-cars due to a 300% tax on anything fun. (asylum in solvang wanted please, will work for smørrebrød)
I'm from detroit and Disney world is actually... jp detroit is messed up but it's really improving though over the last few years.
@@mr.wonkastyle2558 Yeah i know, hope it works out for you guys. "the grand tour" made an episode from there recently btw, you should check that out.
just wait someone will complain about all the white people and its a racist town!
R the Danes struggling with immigration like the Germans? Hope not.
@@peterpanassow7814 Oh yes we are, like all of europe. Our politicians call it "diversity", i call it a good reason not to grow old here.

Beautiful cars. And, no, Groucho didn't send me - Virgil Exner did.
✨ Grand !!!
I have an Oakland from Auckland..
Cool.
Those cars are a beauty when is the next car show held
Mmm.....Desoto!
That Plymouth makes me cry, was in perfect condition and he killed it.....why not pick up a junker if you are going to mod it that much :(
It was a junker!
@@MyClassicCarTV thank god, I believe in keeping a original car that's in good shape original.
Love the channel, my favourite for sure.
The Morris 8 van is nor really 8 horse power. This engine was RAC rated as 8hp for British road taxation purposes. They worked on a peculiar formula to work out their HP ratings.... the formula encouraging the developement of long stroke , small bore engines. The first " oversquare" engine Ford fitted in their cars was the 997cc ohv in the 1959 Ford Anglia..... the British government having moved to an equal road ta rating for all private cars, whatever their engine size. The Morris 8 van was about 28 BHP.
The De Soto what is the star of the show
Oh my good....he cut up a perfectly good 52....😭😭😭
To make an incredible engineering marvel!
Wait we have a capital in America....i have to go there some day just to see how similar it is
don't bother the police will harass you, you'll be lucky to return alive
@@The-Cat Dont get your news from memes and social media
Love the DeSoto, but it's a shame what the guy did to the Plymouth. It looked like it was perfectly restored on the pic he showed....
Only problem is that the video should be longer 🤓more cars 🚗🚙and trucks 🚚🚛🚘🦐👍🏼
Less Dennis talking....
CH MC nope just me 🤔
Should have done a spot on that Baldwin Roadster!
There’s a Baldwin Special that is sill being raced. I believe you can see it on RUclips and Facebook.
On the last car, the 57 DeSoto, they have sportsman and fireflite wrong. It was always "DeSoto fireflite" since '55, with "sportsman" being just a trim level, if I'm correct. Kinda confusing with badge placement
I enjoyed the video, but I wish that you had focused on the cars a bit longer (not the special one's you showed, but all of them).
Marina blue? Ah...have to question that.
Chopping and modding these cars is insane to me. Keep them original. Like the stock ones though.
Respect from a Brit.
To each their own.
Trade up to an Adventuer.....
No that's not how you can tell it's handmade that's how you can tell it's British 😂
Taking a beautiful stock Plymouth and carving it into a POS, SHAME!
Not a lot of people would call a stock 52 Plymouth four door a beautiful car to begin with. To each their own tho.
First
The show would be better without Dennis. Just saying...
Sorry, but the show wouldn't exist without Dennis. Just sayin'.
@@MyClassicCarTV That may be true but not really germane to the point. Don't get me wrong, it is a well put together production and the content is interesting. However, Dennis's commentary is typically something I look past vice look for. That is different than other shows I watch of this genre. Obviously it works for him and everyone has a niche or branding. All the best to your continued success!
Many thanks. Besides, it's not about me. It's about the cars!
