We had a '62 Pontiac Grand Prix when I was a kid. Great car, 389 Tri-Power (built with the expertise/guidance of John Angeles in his home garage), Super T-10 4speed trans, power windows, factory original 8-lug aluminum wheels. Great memories driving it during high school and during my first year in the Marine Corps. John Angeles knew how to get the most out of a Tri-Power 389 Pontiac. He had the fastest NHRA Super Stock Pontiac, the first 400 Pontiac Super Stock in the 9's (driven by his daughter Keri), and ALWAYS built/tuned/maintained his own engines, even during his partnership with Pontiac legend Pete McCarthy. RIP John and thanks for the memories.

That VW mail truck is beautiful! But my eyes are on that '73 Hurst/Olds Cutlass, and that '53 Studebaker.

The VW Kleinlieferwagen (Small delivery vehicle) is interesting, however might I say I don't think the owner quite has the right definition of Fridolin. As a German speaker I had not heard this and did some research. All I could find was it is a diminutive of the name Fredrick. I have to say these little guys are much cuter than the Jeeps the USPS was using around the same time.

The thing that amazes me for any or all of the pages like this, is WHY oh WHY are there people who dislike this page. Or any page with cool cars. Always amazes me.

It's just a silly thing that people do today that accomplishes absolutely nothing. i don't know if the MCC cares a hoot about a like button, but I show my appreciation by telling the MCC guys that have done a wonderful job right here in the comment section. I'm more than positive they appreciate a shout out right here in the comment section Their success of Dennis and this show doesn't depend on a like botton.

the german Post (mail office) to Volkswagen: we need something bigger than a beetle.
VW: you can get the VW bus.
Post: it's too big for us, we need something bigger than the beetle and smaller than the bus.
VW: mmm, let's go through the shelves and collect parts from all the vehicles we have... Here, how about a frog?
Post: We don't like the frog, but can't we have a Fridolin?
VW well we call him Fridolin. It's bigger than the beetle and smaller than the bus and costs the same as a bus.
Post: then we'll take Fridolin, the simplest version, please. Only with one seat. Now we have saved expenses.
VW: the caravan manufacturer Westfalia can put the Fridolin together. There is no space in our factory. But because the parts come from VW, it will carry our brand

Being german and car crazy all my life, I have never ever seen a VW van like this and didn't even know it existed. This thing is so uncommon, what a crazy hybrid.
Is this an original VW design or a body shop job? Could anyone possibly post some specs here?

Yeah, me too! I was looking over this beautiful Bonneville (can't remember ever seeing a '61) and finding very little wrong with the exterior or interior and then he opened the hood.... It was a bit anticlimactic at best. OK, maybe you didn't have enough time to locate or fabricate an overflow reservoir for the cooling system before heading to the show or some buy longer battery cables and re-route them without laying across the inner fender well, but it would only have taken an hour to hit a big box auto or hardware store and buy a $2 bag of split plastic wire loom and hide every bit of that electrical eyesore. They even make it in colors now. It is still a hot car but you're taking it to a car show...
