Holy Nostalgia Batman!! now that was a car show!! i was born in 1955, those 40's 50's 60's cars were works of art compared to today's cars. i needed this video. those cars represent simpler times. just beautiful autos/trucks.
@@samspace81 How many car shows are there in the US every year? I'm in Canada and would love to go down and see some. I'm 72 and know what muscle means. Thanks and rock on
I started high school in the Fall of 1955 and graduated in 1959, it just didn't get any better than that. I took my twin boys to see American Graffiti and they asked me if that's how the fifties were? I told them that pretty much nailed it.
❤️ Bless you and your boys. Thank you for commenting. You're my kind of viewer and the reason I do what I do. I'm here to record the best of times and take you there
Really great show! Loved American Graffiti! The vehicles were all great! So many Chevys, Impalas , the ‘58 Impalas were great! The early T-birds were great! Thank you Sam, I really enjoyed this show a lot!
My neighbor in Modesto (before we moved) used to have his Impala club buddies come over for parties often and the street would be lined with the most stunning Impalas. I definitely found an appreciation for them over the years. In fact he’s in the first seen rolling down the street in the red convertible Impala.
I remember when it wasn't a parade but just massive amounts of people, both young and old, cruising up and down McHenry in the 70's and 80's. Sometimes it took over an hour to make 1 pass in 1 direction. Awesome times people awesome times.
I'll bet I've watched this movie Seventy Times it's nice to see all the cars and kind of sad in a way to the world's certainly was a much better place back then
Well maybe didn't grow up just came of age 😕 🤷 🤔 and had all kinds of hotrods did circle track racing for years in the higher divisions won some lost some but always had good time and built lots of vehicles built some drag cars 🚗 just saying yall have a great day , later 👍
I was only disappointed once so far when I seen a moderate car in the back ground great to see all those beautiful classics good on yours lads and girls Have a few classic my self Phil Maguire meath lreland
yes really nice build! Thanks for watching & taking time to comment as well @williammorrison5678 I'm fascinated with anything with an Ardun V8 conversion too
I grew up in Modesto. Just moved to SC last summer. I don’t miss the cesspool it turned into, but I miss how simple and beautiful my hometown was 30 years ago.
Later sixties early seventies cruising McHenry. Great fun, friend had Mom's 62 Chrysler 300 fast for the day. At some point Bay Area guys started showing up looking for fights trying to take over. Totally ruined what it was. Cruising was banded soon after..
Thew movie came out in 73 so I assumed it would be in 2023. I spent 4 yrs restoring a T-Bird so I could be part of this event. Waited all my life for the v0th. So what do they do? They throw this event in 2022, 50 yrs after FILMING the movie and I MISS IT by one year!!!! It would have been nice to be told about this!
David, this is an annual show in Modesto, California, the American Graffiti festival every June. This was my first year attending and covering it, a friend with a yellow Deuce told me about it. I appreciate your viewership and please bring the T Bird to Modesto in 2024! See you there 👍
Hi Sam . As usual , too much to pick a favourite but my goodness that Model A with Arden Heads at 18.22 was magnificent in it's modesty and when that hot rod appeared at 54.12 l guessed right away it wasa Buick straight 8 ......not bad for a Brit ! And who doesn't love a Buick Riviera , especially with air ride ! Thanks Sam
Hey!! My hometown. We moved away last year to SC because it got so bad. They stopped American Graffiti for years because of the gang activity at the event. I’m glad to see it’s back in action! And there’s my old neighbor in his red convertible Impala in the first scene!!
Absolutely loved that bumble bee black and yellow color scheme used on the two tone 55 and 56 Fords. One of the best two color schemes ever IMO. All of the two tones were fantastic and beautiful. Back then cars and trucks were unique and had personality. You could glance at them and instantly know make and model. Today they are ugly and unappealing and if not for the badge you couldn't tell many of them apart.
Lot of great cars! Hard to believe the Pharaohs are there and nobody has a chopped 51 Merc! No replica of Falfa's 55. The best replica of Milner's car is the one with plate THX 1380. Great movie! Thanks for the video.
@@samspace81 I grew up in So Cal (San Gabriel Valley) in the late 60's and early 70's and we used to cruise Whittier Blvd. Spent a lot of time going up and down Sunset or Hollywood Blvd, too. Made it to Van Nuys Blvd once. When I was in the Navy I was stationed at Mare Island and went over to San Rafael (where most of AG was filmed because Modesto wouldn't allow it!) and cruised there, too. Thanks again!! Oh, forgot to mention that the soundtrack to that movie was just the best!
The funny thing is, American graffiti was filmed in Petaluma mostly, with some of it in San Rafael. I was actually in the cruise in a car I had at the time. Or was that the second one. hmmmmmmmmmm
Look at that G-R-E-A-T 1970 GTX at 3:03!!!!! Tor red w/ hood graphic....a Hemi would be too much to ask for.....still, one of the absolute Heights in the history of MOPAR.....
T birds 🐦 are great looking cars 🚗 and way ahead of their time and the yellow Ford coupe needs 😀 much bigger rubbers on the backend, and a Ford engine like a flathead or 312 power just saying 😀
Most beautiful 😍 are the Ford vehicles they always mostly had the eye appealing vehicles and that is the reason so many older Ford vehicles are used 😀 like from the 30 ts on up to the 2023 tes Mustang sss have them all beaten in styling and horse power 🔋 😀
49:18 Never mind, it was just one of a very few remaining 1956 Furys on Planet earth you skipped in favor for one of a Billion Camaros, that actually do Not belong to a (pre 63) American Graffiti Celebration

Glad you enjoyed it my friend, yes one of a kind and tons of Chevys!
Yeah needs more Fords after all Fords for the most part started with the flathead cars that started the hotrod industries
My neighbor in Modesto (before we moved) used to have his Impala club buddies come over for parties often and the street would be lined with the most stunning Impalas. I definitely found an appreciation for them over the years. In fact he’s in the first seen rolling down the street in the red convertible Impala.
