It's a beautiful car. I did not know of a 2 door coupe version of the Chrysler Airflow. There was a deSoto based on the Airflow, with a six cylinder engine, and it could be had as a long wheelbase 4 door like the Chrysler, or as a shorter 2 door coupe.

What a pleasure to see this truck again . I was responsible for bringing this truck out of long term storage back in the early 2000s. I recall it running about 40 or 45 m.p.h. flat out....

Beer and liquor advertising was prohibited in Ontario. Labatts created the streamlined truck as a mobile advertisement. They delivered Labatt beer all through the province, and especially showed up at fairs etc. Labatt had another public relations promotion. All drivers would stop and offer roadside assistance to any car they saw in distress. Change tires, etc This service was offered by all Labatt trucks, not just the streamliners. Drivers were rewarded by the company for doing this. I remember when I first saw this truck on the highway.

Worked on the 1948 White's Stream liner back in the very early 2000's outside of Toronto a Resto from its last resto 20 years earlier
The only bad thing with the truck back then was the Bodyshop managment wanted to save money in labor And instead of stripping of the trailer panels And tighen them from flexing badly (cracking paint) The coated the trailer with pounds on pounds of Bondo Which in time would again need to be stripped down and fixed again The cab interior Looks like it has been restored since i seen it last with newer paint and emblems

I didn't know who Steve Plunkett,Linda Vaughn, Courtney Hansen or Gene Winfield were.
So I had to spend time looking them up.
    You're welcome.
Steve Plunkett was the lead singer/songwriter of rock band "Autograph".I stand corrected. Not the same guy.
Linda Vaughn is an American motor racing personality who has been described as “The First Lady of Motorsports” and the “preeminent beauty queen of stock car racing.”
Courtney Hansen is an actress and producer.
Gene Winfield is an automotive customizer and fabricator. In the mid-1960s, a large body of his work appeared on screen.
As well as in the 1982 film Blade Runner.

I love designs and works of art from back before the use of computers. Designing things for efficiency, or worse for profit takes the soul and beauty out of them. Humanity has passed through the "Best of Times", and is now racing down the incline of technology and profits. A world based and built on nothing but money.

I love classic cars but I haven't had one since I sold my 64 Chevy Impala SS 327=300hsp. I have never restore one [I am 75] but I love to see this form of HISTORY. Shows like Dennis' are too few and far between.. Leno does a good job but many of his are big price cars. I love to see cars brought back from the graveyard and restored.😃😃😃😃😃
