I am in love with this ensemble and this version with the orchestra! So much passion! Lamb of God gave me CHILLSSSSS!! I sang this with my church choir some years back, and with it being Holy Week, this piece was going through my head. I'm so glad I listened to this version. AMEN!

I have played this for three choirs in my lifetime and this the simply the best version I have heard. Not only are the choir members and soloists excellent but they are totally connected to the lyrics….congrats!

That video shows what we all know : Only black People really can sing this piece well!!😀. A lot of choirs here in Europe do this mass, but i never Heared Good performance. Here we have real passion and The atmosphere is so happy, while in Europe is usually formal and quite Reserved. I Love that Version.
We performed it when I was in college and we only had one black member. I didn't much care for it, but yeah, this performance is much better. We didn't have enough soul.
youtube also has a St Olaf College performance, and It's an interesting comparison! There is no video, so one can only guess that the chorus is 99% white.
I sang this in a high school with combined choirs in fairly diverse school district and we did a great job. We had the pleasure to be conducted by Robert Ray.
