I'm glad you liked DreamWorks' version of Pixar's Day and Night.
Spoilers
I didn’t mind the twist at the end, but I believe its purpose was to show how creative a child’s imagination is when making up stories.
This film absolutely deserves a theatrical release. Phenomenal animation, great characters, especially the Dark, and a story that's somehow simple and grand at the same time. I don't know why it was just dumped on Netflix, DreamWorks really should've had more faith in this. I hope more people hear about it and it gets the attention it deserves.
You see the problem is DreamWorks have the same mindset as everybody else in Hollywood that is existing properties work and originals don't have do you noticed that most stuff that's coming out of Hollywood are squeals or remakes. I saw this movie on Netflix and it was amazing I don't understand why DreamWorks decide to dump it on streaming. Ruby Gilman has been picking up in popularity after it's been released digitally
They couldn’t do that, though. DreamWorks literally has a policy that they can only release 1-2 theatrical films a year.
idk if it's because my edible kicked in while watching this one but I couldn't even finish it. The final act was just a clusterfuck after a pretty chill & enjoyable watch
also god the designs are stellar. Unexplained Noises might be one of my favorites off of design alone, I love her voice a lot and she looks like a Robots character (which is good imo)
everytime i hear word "GENEVA"
i just automatyclly go into a dnd session where my character sayed "let us go throu these gates and met the king or i will introduce you to the GENEVA SUGGESTION"
I feel like it went directly to Netflix because it was a quiet film that was meant to cater more to anxious people like Orion.
No, it’s because DreamWorks can’t release 2-3 theatrical films a year anymore. Not after how “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” and “Penguins of Madagascar” treated them at the box office.
Seriously, why don’t people see this? Even a frickin’ toddler would figure out why “Orion and the Dark” didn’t get released in theaters.
@@spaceboyctstudios2934 Because I don't care about box offices. I just watch what I think I might like.
@@spaceboyctstudios2934 Because I don't pay attention to the box office.

@@ThePrincessCH Oh…
Makes sense. Also, sorry about that. Wasn’t trying to sound rude. Just got upset for a bit. That’s all.😅
I think the ending is supposed to be a kid-friendly version of his other movies like “Im Thinking of Ending Things” where the script shifts perspectives.
Okay, but:
A. It didn't do properly.
B. They barely ever gives us a hint that they were going for that direction.
Orion in the Dark was good. Off the wall insane at times, but good.
I also like how you’re not falling for that “Dreamworks Golden Age Resurgence” bs.
Well not amazing but I'll take it over the Megamind 2: Ruined the Reputation of Megamind next Month.
Oh and Kung Fu Panda 4 am looking forward too that
I thought this movie was alright overall. The stuff regarding Dark's dilemma was great, especially with his self-doubt in the second act and exploring the consequences of his disappearance. It kind of reminds me of the environmental message from the third act of "Bee Movie," another fair Dreamworks film imo. Beyond that, I also liked the personification of the elements of darkness and the portrayal of Light as a decent guy. Seriously, I was expecting him to be an antagonist based on the trailers and Dark's annoyance with him, but I'm glad they went with a positive, spiritual balance between the two, including Light's concern for Dark's safety.
As for the whole thing between adult Orion and his daughter, I figured he made up this story on the spot. Essentially, he fantasized both his and his daughter's respective fears of darkness to help her cope with it, and even followed her 'critiques' to help in that regard. But even then, I agree the movie got rather sloppy with its approach and should've simplified the resolution.
Yeah I agree with you I don’t hate on the idea it just could’ve been less sloppy and done with better execution
The Dark Is more the my spirit animal.
Werner Herzog and Charlie Kaufman together to do an animated film. That blows my mind away.
at least this Orion and the Dark movie is fun and surprisingly good
Its basicly a movie verion of pyjama sam vs mr dark
Orion and the Dark threw me for a loop, too, when Adult Orion and his daughter came in.
I already saw fanart of The Dark shirtless with abs on twitter so it’s probably good.
For, "research" purposes... elaborate. (also nsfw that fast?!)
@@inesargeuta2288if it exists or becomes popular there’s gonna be porn of it.
Is it that damn fanart where he says “I need a bigger one” (typing that makes me want to KMS)
@StarMisura I know what your talking about 😭 Like I just searched up "orion and the dark fanart" and then got flashbanged by that image.
@@inesargeuta2288 What I saw was just a shirtless pic, there were no condemns. 😭
Me and my son watched Orion and the dark it was cute but my son was right about it being dark due to Charlie Kaufman the writer of the movie
Hey razor I would absolutely love to see you react to arcane. It is fantastic and I would love to hear your analysis and thoughts on it. please consider love your vids :)
I second this.
I always found it kind of annoying when people say dreamworks is headed into a new Renaissance all because of puss in boots 2. People weren't convinced Disney was getting back on track when encanto first released, but when dreamworks makes one good movie, everyone starts hyping them up and saying they're headed into a new Renaissance.
I'm sure that Chris sanders robot movie and dog man will be good, but with ruby Gillman, trolls, and my sceptisizim for kung fu panda 4 and Shrek 5 (Seriously, how does Disney get flak for milking there animated properties, but Dreamworks doesent???)I can't really say dreamworks is doing THAT mutch better than Disney.
0:53 yeah the animation to this Megamind Sequel and TV Series is NOT It and looks like a major downgrade yeah they brought back Megamind and You're Welcome my reaction is you thought you cooked it looks like Shit! They didn't even bother bring back Will Ferrell as Megamind that's just Shamefull and unlike Dragons The Nine Realms where I had to Suffer 8 Seasons of Hell I absoultilly refuse to watch this Megamind Sequel and TV Series on Peacock it's a Major Hell NO for me
I was surprised with seeing Orion and the Dark, it was enjoyable. Looks like Dreamworks might have a comeback unless KFP 4 or the wild robot turns out disappointing, please be good?
It's good for kids, but my family lost interest halfway. Probably because it is predictable.
Sad DreamWorks is in a rut, and I hope it gets better. I had a feeling Orion would be good
Glad I was right. Thanks for confirming it, Raisor.
They took a lot of massive L’s
They cancelled a masterpiece
Ruined a 13 year old movies sequel that everyone was asking for
And also Jeffrey kaztenberg

Wait what? 😐
@@cyborgparrot1996 me and my shadow
@@Society.263 Don’t forget that they released Ruby Gillman, which ended up being their biggest bomb yet.
I was shocked that DreamWorks had their next film be on Netflix. I guess after the failure of Ruby Gilman, they became too afraid to release it to theaters. I’m especially super pissed about that Megamind sequel! That’s not the Megamind sequel I’ve been waiting for!!
I'm happy that you liked it, raisorblade.
To me, it was a waste of potencial. Like the beggining was solid, but then that part with the father and the ending is what it looses me honestly. And the dialogue starts becoming more childish than mature.
Yup, I’ve heard a lot of people talk about it
Great job on the vid. I love those slow reveal to the actual themes it’s a touch that I really enjoy about your channel. I also wanted to ask if you were perhaps thinking about doing a similar review style on camp Cretaceous because now that the nine realms is over, another show with a similar style and feel seems like it’s up your alley. Especially given your feeling about jw FK & D. I honestly really hope it can happen cuz I really want to compare notes with someone about the show and I respect your view on these types of shows
Yeah Dreamworks isn’t the best when it comes to tv series
Oh f*** are you that said sorry
I did love the stuff with adult Orion & his daughter it was very wholesome but yeah it didn’t really fit with the rest of the story
you,,,you forgot about trolls 3,,
1:42 Ruby Gillman was Mid!
And you didn’t know Trolls 3 Band Together existed!
Trolls is an AWFUL DreamWorks Trilogy!!!
2023 should have been a promising year, but Ruby Gillman Destroyed DreamWorks in a forgettable disaster, and Trolls 3 Bad together is where Branch wore a Diaper, and i am not laughing at all!! Trolls 3 is a Laughing Stock it did prove to make money, but it became part of DreamWorks Worst Year!!!!
You forgot to mention the success of Trolls: Band Together
If by success, you mean having TikTok constantly quote only two lines from the movie, then sure.
@@firecrakerj3312 and it beat Disney's Wish at the box office.
@@rocketman437That’s not all that impressive. An Adam Sandler movie did better than Wish.
@@firecrakerj3312 and trolls and Leo were better movies than wish in general
@@rocketman437But out of the two, which is better? That’s the REAL question.
I do want to watch it, but I've just been very busy. Bad excuse I know.
I liked Ruby Gillman, it's better than the marketing
Ok, hear me out, Sora, Donald, and Goofy, and Riku can be there too, went to visit this world and the Organization is trying to turn Dark into a heartless and Nobody. Can you imagine what his heartless and Nobody would look like?
actually i did hear about it from dazzreviews yt video just never finished it
Oh, I wonder if you could review Ernest and Celestine's two?
Orion look a lot like Jon Arbuckle from Garfield 😂
Omg I watched it as soon as it came out 🖤🤍
You should review the tiger apprentice
The Characters looks like they from The Addams Family animated Movies
But heyyyyyyyy… we at least still have King fu Panda 4.
What's the song at the end?
I glad I'm not the only who seen the movie
I watch it with my Mother and we both hate it
Orion is a lovely name.... Just thought I'd bring that up.
1:51 is it me or does this Megamind Sequel looks like a Rip-Off to Incredibles 2 with lackluster animation that no effort put into plus plus it's still going to SUCK
I didnt even know this guy still makes videos lmao, i watched his latest astro boy review and months passed couldnt get him out of my head and i watched the older one , but cuz i watched to movie so many times and cuz im a grown up now i do agree on alot of things u said on him, but i just wana say i love how human the astro from 2009 is , he is most human out of all tobios or tobys, but the movie doesnt have much going on, i just seem to like some characters and thats the only reason i like the 2009 floped shenanigan and also i still like the movie cuz i watched it when i was like 10 or 11 and usualy people see to like things more just because it was in their childhood, DAM DIDNT MEAN TO TYPE SO MUCH
To me, Orion and the Dark is a very weird movie to talk about. While I'm happy that this film is getting a lot of much-needed attention, I'm almost lenient to argue that this film is earning a bit too much praise.
There are a few issues of note, mainly its pacing and reliance on a certain character that enters the story proper in the last third. With that said, the film still has some nice animations (for the most part), it plays around with its natative setup in ways I wouldn't have anticipated, and this is one of the few Dreamworks films to make me laugh outloud when viewed on my own.
hey raisor please review wonder over yonder that show still holds up in my show and I have found myself laughing at some of the jokes.
Whats the song on the background?
the intro LOL!!!!
Yeah I know you don't want to hear this right now but did you see that horrible trailer for The Megamind sequel series oriental gonna make another series that isn't a sequel so you're going to have to sit for that because I'm going to be recommending it like hell
Tales of Arcadia full series review when?
This movie came out on my 30th birthday last week. I didn't expect it to be THIS good considering Charlie Kaufman was the uncredited script consultant for Kung Fu Panda 2, one of the best DreamWorks sequels, mind you. Is it one of the greats (Shrek, Prince of Egypt, Kung Fu panda, How To Train Your Dragon)? Not really, but at least it's more tolerable than a Trolls movie (didn't even bother with the third movie), Boss Baby, Bee Movie, and Shark Tale.
Open Season Call of Nature review later?
Talk about the wild robot trailer
I’ve been following this movie’s release since the day it was announced back in June last year. And it was definitely worth the long wait! This movie is honestly a great start to DreamWorks’ 30th anniversary. Is it perfect? No, and like Raisor said, it does have its flaws. But it does show that DreamWorks is still nailing it in the book adaptation genre!
Now up next: Kung Fu Pamda 4!
