8:47 that look between Forrest and Lt Dan is AMAZING... Lt Dan sort of despised him for saving him in battle... later became a drunk and down on his luck, but by the end of the film he cleaned himself up, got married, and saw Forrest as a CLOSE friend of his who not only saved his life, but saved his soul ✨️
Everyone blames Jenny and says "Jenny is this, Jenny is that" but nobody says anything about her father, who created the cognition and behaviors that doomed her future. "Jenny for the streets" or "Jenny is manipulative" but never Jenny is trying to protect Forrest from the life she believes is predestined for her, and is unfit for him, which is why she said "you don't wanna marry me Forrest". Since childhood she was made to believe she was no good to be loved, and so she grew with this same ideology. It's sad not a lot of people think of this, and are so quick to dismiss the beginning of the movie, and choose her to hate on throughout the film, even though there are multiple scenes of her being beaten, abused, and taken advantage of, which she just thinks is normal since she grew up in a similar environment.
This is a golden comment. Totally understood what you mean. I’ve dated girls that went thru a similar situation in their childhood. It’s extremely difficult
I do think some people are quick to judge Jenny and I don’t completely lack any empathy for her and what she has gone through. I think anybody who has gone through abuse is susceptible to subconsciously seeking it out in the future. However, the unfortunate part of life (or the beautiful) is that you must take responsibility for situations even if they weren’t your fault. That’s part of being a mature adult. What I don’t like about Jenny is that she takes advantage of a mentally challenged individual for her fuck ups. You can have empathy for someone who has done bad things but that doesn’t mean you can excuse them. There is a total lack of accountability that makes to me Jenny a bad person.
@@Hunnidsouls understandable take, but it doesnt make her a bad person. Labeling people like this as bad is what creates the reality that they already have accepted (which is that they themselves are bad regardless of how hard they try to be good). Often times people like this hurt others by attempting to avoid causing trouble (inadvertently causing trouble). The thing is that people in this mindset are in a perpetual cycle, which if not obstructed by an external source (therapy, good friends, parents, etc.) it is nearly impossible to recognize this avoidance is damaging others. Unfortunately Jenny had no support, no parents, and ended up going down the path of substance abuse (which is its own alternate issue). Its natural to make judgments upon taking advantage of others. In Jenny’s case (if you are referring to her coming back to Forrest throughout the movie) Forrest was her only real form of family. She knew him since childhood, and so naturally she will fall onto familiar people. I dont think she abuses Forrest in anyway, I do see why people would say she took advantage of him, although this would be the case if she didnt care for him at all (evidently untrue). Jenny’s character is that of a lost, scared, confused, and damaged girl. Her actions, although detrimental and negative in effect towards those she cares for does not make her a bad person. She was just misguided, and unable to understand how much damage she caused him. She loved Forrest, which is why she tried to stay so far away from him, and why she said “you dont want to marry me Forrest”
Think about all the times Forrest was influenced by the people around him, and think about how Jenny was influenced by the people around her. I would say a big part of Forrest Gump is luck. Being lucky to have been surrounded by people who have given you good direction in your life. It’s also a mixture of things; when the right personality meets the right people at the right time. It’s true the Forrest was in a unique position in that he just wouldn’t stop and had no ego.
"WHO THE FCK IS THAT?!!?" "OH THAT'S JUST GUMP THA VILLAGE IDIOT" lol luv this movie top 5 of all time also Tom Hanks is one of the greatest actors of all time too

Forrest is always optimistic. It will never matter what life throws at him. He will always choose to see the good in every situation and every person.
He embraces opportunities, this is why he is successful
True! One of the all time best! Thanks so much for this review. Sad thing is, why Hollywood not making this type of movies anymore. So sad!

@@Hunnidsouls 💯
Jenny had trauma & ambitions for change, we even see some suicidal ideation.
Good take on the movie and character of Forrest Gump ! I would only add one detail - he never complained.
This video connected with me emotionally. Eye opening. You deserved way more likes. One of the best videos I’ve seen in a long time. Thank you!
Thank you for the kind words

Forrest Gump is an amazing movie, but it’s just that, a movie. We can’t live like Forrest, and if we did life would be absolute chaos.
I think you missed the point
