    Jamie from Shadowborne Games is in the studio with Gerry and Justin to continue on their game of Oathsworn.
    Having had the misfortune to encounter a Brood Mother, Gerry and Justin must figure out a way to take it down without being swarmed by dozens of rats in the process. Controlling two characters each they must deal with the swarm and do enough damage to each of the Brood Mothers' parts. That is, of course, if they can keep their characters alive.

    The let's play on this channel are awesome. Justin, you do a great job every time you're on the show! You all convinced me to buy KD:M, now you all did the same thing with Oathsworn regardless of Gerry's never ending saltiness.

    I'm watching this well after the fact and after the final rules are out and it's really great to see all the improvements that have been made since! I liked it enough to back even then, but it's cool to see how much better it is now!

    I wish the giant monster have clearer indicator of where her front is, and the base with clearer space/size indicator

      I heard that there is marking on the base for where the front is at.

      @@obsoletethree You can actually see the marking quite clearly at 8:21. it's just an arrow icon but it's quite effective.

    In this game, only the tail/back (and the head near the end of the video) gave a reward to the players for taking the hit location out, and I would like to see the game giving more rewards to players for taking out a hit location. Ideally, with the use of face-down tokens which are revealed once the location is destroyed. So every time you play the bonuses differ, and the game would feel more rewarding. This way you can have bonuses that are gained by all players, and bonuses that go only to the player who dealt the final hit. It would certainly make things more interesting.
    Something I don't like is how damage from collision works. So a rat bumps onto you and you take 1 damage when a full attack from 2 or 3 rats often does nothing? Mechanically it works, but thematically it makes no sense. If I get the game, I will probably house rule it to resolve collision with a dice roll. Roll 1 white die and on a result of 1+ the character takes 1 damage.
    btw, Justin's rolls were insane in this video and made the game look easier than it probably is. That said, the number of dice the players roll in combination with the exploding dice mechanic can make the game too swingy, even with the use of cards to mitigate luck.

      I was thinking the same thing in regards to both the collision damage and the reward for destroying a location. I was feeling the same about having the collision only possibly deal damage would be the way to go.

    Interesting most of the playthroughs I've seen focus on wearing down the locations then breaking them in rapid succession...whereas you went all in with huge attacks to break a location in a single hit.

    What happens if you lose the encounter? Do you replay it or do you just go further in the story?

      If your characters die, they get replaced by followers for the remainder of the match so I think its pretty hard to lose the encounter. Characters that get taken out do get a permanent wound that negatively influence them for the remainder of the instances though.

    What's opinion on this and Arena the contest? Arena is doing a new KS right now. Not sure which to do all in on. I still need to finalize my Oathsworn pledge.

    Doesnt the giant rats have 6 movement? Why on this video you only moving it up to 5 hexes?

      Guard is an interrupt card, so it depends on the card I guess.

    I think I'm the only one that doesn't like this game. It feels like a short game to me with low replayability.I really hope I'm wrong.

      I just think that after you've played enough Descent and Gloomhaven, everything else just feels like recycled bits (but that's not necessarily saying anything bad about this game whatsoever). Love the cooldown system of this game though, and I did the Vince McMahon meme when I saw that putting a card on CD when a card was already in that CD slot actually EXPEDITED the old card's CD. That was really cool. All in all though, I'll agree to the extent that if you've played any of the big dungeon crawlers of the past few years you can definitely LIVE without playing this.
