    All legit tips. I am almost done, chapter 20 right now. That 0 card is a life saver for putting cards on cool down. I would personally switch the Defense and Animus tokens. I found that the Animus tokens could be used to move yourself out of the target range, in which case you don't need the Defense token.

      While true I think the Animus token is more about flexibility. You can do more and change where the boss goes, but someone is getting hit (most often the 2 move is enough to change the target, but not move everyone out of range). Shield token on tanks and animus on ranged/rogue characters would be my go to.

      @@MarvelOfRain For me personally, I just felt that certain times were I got hit, I had a lot of shield tokens but it still wasn't enough to lower the enemies attack damage bellow 1. Several times were I was yeah I can discard this card for a 2 shield, and these four shield tokes, but its still going to do 1 health to me. Were on the other hand I moved away with several Animus tokens, still became the target, and was too far away to get hit. Then again for reactions from the boss it doesn't help against cause their going to hit you. I guess their more equal in terms of token. We can still agree that the re roll tokens are the best token.

      is there more to this than gloomhaven where it's just move and attack then move and attack over and over? Also is there actual magic/spells?

    • @CheddahSlammer
      @CheddahSlammer 9 месяцев назад

      @@shazam2323 For the most part you just move with the Animus you got then if you have any left you use a card to Attack, maybe move someone with the attack. Their are some cards that add an effect like bleed to your attack. The only difference is you have interrupt cards, so when the enemy attacks, you can play a interrupt card which may do interesting effects. for example I was playing the Penitent, and one of my interrupt card allowed me to swap my character with one of the characters about to be hit, with my characters 10 defense it resulted in the attack doing nothing. The only character that uses spells is the witch and I haven't played her.
      However I will add that in gloomhaven the fun was the modifier deck once you leveled up and had rolling effect cards with your attacks.

      @@shazam2323 the mage has magic spells, but they operate similarly to other characters abilities in how they damage. She has to choose between fire and ice elements though. This is way more complex in the actual fight than gloomhaven. GH is a puzzle about how you will get to the end while still having cards in hand, which means using weaker parts of your abilities so you don't exhaust. Oathsworn is more about managing your position on the battlefield, your cards on cool down, and your resources/life.

    Helpful video, thank you! I partially disagree about be empower tokens though, I rate those very highly as even if you miss the determination rule means you keep the token, and it can help you by diving into decks you don’t normally get to access when you know there’s lots of blanks left in the yellow and white ones. I’ve seen that token end a fight before, or break a location that was on full health. So don’t underestimate their value! In combination with re-rolls you can get some serious hits in when needed most

    @GameBrigade Hello thank you for all the tips. Just one question you said we should play ability card 0 almost every turn but we can only play one abilitiy card per turn so I don't understand this tip?
