Stuff works fantastic. One bit of advice to anyone that planning on trying this or any other brighter. Don't get distracted and walk away from it and leave it on to long. Because you can BURN the Aluminum with this type of cleaner. The "Burned" look will be a chalky white powder look. And its a lot of works to get it back to shinny, But can be done. Also, Be sure to THOROUGHLY wash down the area where you are working if you have pets, like a dog. Because IT CAN AND WILL BURN the pads on there feet. Same with kids and bare feet. Just simply wash the area well with cold water, and you'll be golden.

It's been my experience that each time I've tried the 'guaranteed to work' claims by manufacturers, it's only resulted in one disappointment after another. This product you've just demonstrated does indeed do what it claims. Thank you for sharing.
Nice trailer btw!! For years I've wanted a nice aluminum tandem axle .... I just never found one I thought was truly affordable. I've always found that if someone owns an aluminum trailer, they think it's made of pure silver or gold, regardless of condition! Lol.
Yours seems to have been treated well, and it looks like you're going to keep it that way. Thanks again.
Incidentally, this ought to work great on truck tool boxes as well .... I'll be picking some up!

Liked the Purple Power….another organic product to use on the boards would be Linseed oil. You may want to consider taking the boards out doing the bottoms several times with what ever protectant you choose and reinstall…..Tom

Would not recommend this stuff to anyone unless you want your bot completely white, are unless you plan on buffing it out after. Works good to clean it if your going to buff the aluminum after.

Wonder how this works to help remove cement dust from an aluminum tanker trailer? I found acids to be too aggressive for the aluminum, but acids are the only thing that removes the concrete. Might be worth a try with this.

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  2 месяца назад

I don't know if it would be strong enough to remove concrete like muriatic acid would. I could be wrong and it might be worth a shot. Good luck!!

Yes it can, it oxidizes fast though. I’m trying out some spray on wax to maybe slow that oxidization down a bit. We’ll see I guess. 🤷‍♂️

I inherited my dads 2003 Harley Sportster…it lived in Maryland since new ( 21 years).. it is ALMOST…IMMACULATE….but now it is in my garage in Florida… a few miles from the ocean…so i need to get ahead of the ravages of humidity and salt air….this product….
    1) is it safe for aluminum engine parts?
    2) even after fully rinsing is there a concern with residue negatively responding to the heat of the engine? ( engine block, cylinders and exhaust heat)
    3) will the overspray damage the other metals and paint of the engine?… plastics and leather?
Everybody wants to talk about shiny shiny pretty pretty…I just want to keep the bike clean and protected.
All comments /input from experienced craftspeople will be very appreciated
    Thx

It will peel. Aluminum makes aluminum oxide on its surface, which will make it peel. A zinc cromate primer will stop the oxide process but it is not clear.

Our company gets Aluma-Clear on the tankers and it keeps them looking factory new. Not sure what the process is but it lasts through Michigan’s salty winters. They are located in Saginaw, Michigan and I’m sure it’s expensive.

This is basically an acid (or is it a "base"), it will etch the shit out of the surface of the aluminum, and while it will look "better" for a bit, the now more porous surface will oxidize QUICKLY and look even worse than it did before in short order.
    Just my .02

Great video. I see that it does a good job on removing the dirt and grim...But I don't get that it's called "Aluminum Brightener" yet the aluminum is actually a lot more dull when finished - clean but dull. I want a cleaner that will remove the dirt but leave the shine of the metal. Maybe that's impossible? (Yes, I know I can re-polish)

  • @stuartpulvermacher6861

Be careful with that on exposed concrete some of those brighteners have an acid base and could etch the surface of your driveway use plenty of water to flush it away

As for the motor oil. A better alternative is a name brand deck sealer.
