- If you’re wondering why the last installer only installed 7 strands as opposed to 12 then my guess would be that they ran out of clips and didn't know what to do after. Our client did mention they did get paid before they left and said they will be back. They never returned and then we were called out to rescue the job.
If you get someone or a company to do your Govee permanent lighting install, ask a couple questions like will you be purchasing more clips? Do we need to purchase more clips or 3D Mounts to secure all our lights. Can we conceal the power adapter and controller from the elements?
These questions may scare your installer away but just know that you now have the upper hand to getting your install done the way you have seen in our videos or others. If you get someone to do your install for under a grand and just let them take control of your install, then what you have seen on this video is to be expected. Permanent lighting takes time to install correctly and to make sure everything holds up for quite some time. If you find someone that values their work, their time and still get it for a great price then you are in luck. Thank you all for taking the time to view our content and supporting us on the Govee outdoor permanent lighting on this channel.

Another one?! You and your team are unstoppable man! Great job guys!
Great video. Came here looking for info on my 150 Elite(h805c) kit I installed. I had 2 boxes so 18 stands total and do to my house layout I had decided to split it into 3 sections of 7/7/4 but the plan was to get online and buy a 3rd controller. Everything is up which was difficult as scissor lift was used to reach some of the places safely and now I find out I cant just buy a controller for it. I have a 4 strand section on my house that I can't light up. Found a driver on Amazon which is OOS and also not sure if it would work with my set. Without having to get a scissor lift again and rerun the strips to change the layout to a 9/9 setup is there anything you can recommend? Govee customer support didn't give me much help and buying a 3rd box for just the driver seems crazy.
Great install! I see you guys using a Ryobi brad nailer for the clips - wondering if that will be an issue down the road as the plastic clip deteriorates as those brads don't have much of a head on them to hold on to the clip. Would love to know your thoughts on this as I'm sure you guys have considered it. Again, great install!
Have you had any issues with these? After many months of use, mine just died. I have received replacement parts from govee but still nothing works. I thought it was a power supply issue but now I don't know.
meant to ask you, have you played around with the 200ft pro lights? Ie...adding an 16ft string that they sell to make it 216ft, adding a driver module after the 200ft? ...curious if it would work.
You can’t do that. The amp that the power adapter, module and controller won’t allow it. They won’t turn on at the end cause the app doesn’t read it
@@jbsdiytv damn goove...lol
@MMARIC20 yup lol. App reads 12 strands and not 13. 120 lights only. They got to make money somehow. They have you wanting more. Very skilled tech engineers and sales staff cause they’ve already figured out the average linear foot of homes. It sucks but it’s business
@jbsdiytv yeah , you're right. Oh well looks like I'll have to get the 50ft non pro or pay extra for 100ft do match it with my 200ft pro lol. And then group them.
There you go, now your thinking like Govee 😂
where do you get your clear plastic mounting clips?

Why LED driver module after 5th strand? Govee does not include the driver module on the 150-foot version. 150 has 9 strands. So i assume the driver module is required after the 9th strand.
On the led driver module it indicates the instructions on the side of it. Yes you’re correct. If it doesn’t include it in the kit then it won’t be required. The only ones that have it are in the 200ft kit of pros
@jbsdiytv you can test with 200 pros. If you connect all the strands, strand after the 9th should flicker. This confirms the test. You can then connect the driver after 9 and see the results.
@rthiaga we have tried this and had to return back to the clients home since the power box was warmer than it should have been. It won’t flicker just draw more than it should. Play it safe and add the module driver after the 5th string of lights if going over 150ft
@jbsdiytv Thank you for the information. If I'm right, the driver module is for boosting data signals, and it has nothing to do with power draw. I'm not sure the loss of data will increase the power draw. You have more experience than me. You must be correct. I've ordered 200ft. Yet to receive. I am planning to install only 150 out of it. Thought of skipping the driver module. I will also check once I receive the lights.
@leafs2994 you can not. On the specs online it says for H706 models(pros). We have tried it and didn’t work. Plus the non pro lights are programmed to a max of 108 lights, 150ft-9 segments only
Hey JB I'm installing my lights and I am almost finished. Do you know how in the app to turn off certain sections or lights on the pro as to create accent lights on the top and sides?
Yes. Under color go to Advance, then bring down your speed all the way, slide the bar over to warm white or cool white, then make sure your background color is set to a slash. Swipe all of the snake line with the warm white set. Now using the color tile, find the red slash and hit it. Use the red slash and tap on the lights you want to turn off. Go ahead and mess with this a bit and reach out if you have any more questions.
@@jbsdiytv you the best , thank you.
@MMARIC20 🙏 you got it to work? Awesome
@jbsdiytv once I get home I'll try it out. I'm sure it will 😃
Whats the driver for?
The led driver module comes with the 200ft Pro Kits. That will get installed after the 5th String of lights if you’re installing more than 9 strands in the pro kit. It helps drive power and data to the end of your install. Only works for the pro kit versions(H706). If you were to purchase a 150ft pro kit, it’s not included but if you ever need to stretch your install out at a later time, then you would need to purchase separately the module driver and 3 additional strands to complete 200ft
@@jbsdiytv sir thank you! you deserve a follow for that informative response.
@DGCMO 🙏my family appreciates the support. We love what we do. Thank you
@@jbsdiytv we just had our installed a few hours ago. We had to outsource it (our roof was too high), and they didn’t work with govee before but did a good job. However, after they left, we noticed we didn’t put the driver. We had the 200ft (12 segments), but only used 11 segments. Without the driver, it still worked. But I’m concerned. Should we go back and install it? Or, if they all work, and light up, should I skip it? I’m hearing mixed comments on Reddit and RUclips lol
