    Good day Slipse, Thanks a million for sharing with the world your great videos giving a live insight into especially Scandinavian Trucking. It really is an eye-opener for all those who haven't yet been so lucky to actually see the fantastic countryside there. Together with the well maintained roads and well thought out traffic routing systems of Scandinavia it makes life on the road so much easier. I've had the great luck to have travelled both to Sweden and Norway a couple of times and can only confirm how beautiful the countries are. No matter what weather, bright and sunny, miserable and rainy, or snowy and wintery, every time has been a joy to visit and travel in. The people seem so much more relaxed than back here on the continent. Anyway Slipse, it is a real joy for me as a dual national, English/German man living in North-Eastern Germany and in my mid fifties to watch your footage. My dream as a young man was to be a trucker but back in the U. S. as I had a real passion for the fantastic American trucks, the Kenworths and Macks, Peterbuilts and Internationals etc.. Also the wide open country and especially Route 66, Colarado and the freedom I felt could only be lived out there. However I never managed to get my backside so far out of Europe although did quite some travelling and thus got around so to anticipate several beautiful countrysides in several countries. Maybe one day I'll again be in Scandinavia and will be able to contact you in person at one of the many gas stations on route.
    Due to an illness I am on early retirement but this doesn't hinder me in doing some travelling, rather the finance is an issue. But hey this can also be overcome and so as per my motto, always finish on a positive.
    All the very Best to you and all those truckers who keep our economies rolling and without which our stores would be empty.
    Cheers, Gordon

    Absolutely fantastic video, the scenery is just out of this world, thank you so much for allowing us to come along with you for the journey. I am a retired tanker driver, but never ever drove in amongst the worlds most beautiful scenery like you do, your so so lucky to have a job like that, and one that you seem to love also. I had a bad accident in 1997, and yes when you see one on the road it brings back horrible memories of your own one.
    Take care and once again, many many thanks for the fantastic video.
    Kind regards from Scotland,
    Johnny

      Slipses Spent my early years trucking the Alaska Hwy. It was pre- pavement days so 1100km of gravel road each way every trip out of Whitehorse to Edmonton or Vancouver. The original Alaska Hwy had lots of 12-17% grade so a lot of chains in the winter months. In the summer rocks and dust😁 My brother and I ran team and a round trip to Vancouver or Edmonton out if Whitehorse every week.

    Its nice to see many of the roads i used to drive before i quit trucking last year. I hope you do a summer version of this. Hamarøya is magnificent during a summers day and you dont need to fear if someone coming down the hills ahead on bad tires. Im quite sure we have crossed paths up there many times. I atleast used to meet N & K Spedition trailers several times a week in northern Norway.

      I envy the big sleepers on American trucks, we can't have those due to our overall length restrictions, but it seems to me, that our trucks are better fit for Arctic conditions..
      I ofc need to say, I only have my opinion, from watching ie ice road truckers on TV, and from comparing details with some US friends on some internet forums 😉

    Excellent video. So nice to see North Norway and Denmark again. I miss home :-)
    It was nice to have a combination of natural road noise and music on this video.
    I really enjoyed watching this. I look forward to the next episode. Thank you.
    I have some questions Flemming :
    1) When was the last time your drove a truck with an Eaton Fuller Road Ranger gearbox ?
    2) What was your total time from Astafjorden to Billund ?
    3) What is a sensible and safe speed for driving with ice chains fitted ?
    Great job. Keep it safe and straight. Cheers, Ade

    • @Slipse
      @Slipse  4 года назад +1

      Hi Ade 😊
      All is well here thank you 😊 I will be leaving for work again tomorrow, after a nice long Easter break 😊
      I have only driven a fuller gearbox once on a trip to Italy, in a MAN commander... To be brutaly honest, I don't see what the hype was about..!
      Driving on snowchains, the speed depends on what type of chains they are.. On-Spot chains max 50km/h
      The normal spiked chains that is most commonly used in Norway, also around 50 to 60 km/h
      But with the cross linked types, the ones used in Austria, I had no hesitation to do 90km/h 😁

    • @adelarsen9776
      @adelarsen9776 4 года назад

      Interesting to learn. Thank you.
      In Australia if you do your truck license with a manual Road Ranger gear box then you are allowed to drive any truck. I have this license but I am not a truck driver :-)
      Excellent video. Safe and enjoyable travels.

    Cool video can do sum talking about driving weight speed that sort of stuff 👍👍

    • @Slipse
      @Slipse  4 года назад

      Hi Mark 😊 the speed is a bit hard to talk about, since it varies a lot, depending on the weather / temperature.. You can say in general, that I go faster if the temperature is colder than minus 10 degrees C, and the closer the temperature gets to 0 degrees C the slower I go, since the snow and ice gets wet, and therefore more slippery..
      About the weight, empty my truck and trailer weighs 22.000 kgs , the refrigerated trailer with side opening, is quite heavy.. My allowed total weight is 50.000kgs

    Hello Slipses,
    First of all forgive me if there is a typing error but I have used the Google translator. My name is Antonio and I am writing to you from Spain. I just discovered your channel through this video and I liked it a lot, logically I am already subscribed. I am 50 years old and I would not have minded dedicating myself to this profession, but the case did not occur, nor was it so clear to me when I was young.
    So now I am satisfied with being a virtual trucker, in the Euro Truck Simulator 2 simulator for computers ... do you know him? In it we can drive the same trucks as professionals and on the same routes and countries as you. In fact I am part of the structure of a virtual transport company where we are forty drivers. I really like "Holland Style" trucks, of which I usually collect photographs, so they are usually the type of truck that I drive at a particular level in the simulator.
    I will follow your videos from now on (and see the old ones). I wish you all your future trips to be as happy as possible.
    A greeting!!

    If there are no truck stops etc and you stay out at night, i am guessing you do not switch off the engine, how much fuel are you carrying?? From an ignorant car driver.

    • @Slipse
      @Slipse  4 года назад +2

      It depends on the temperature, whether I leave the engine running overnight, below minus 15 degrees C, it let it run, set the rpm to around 800 and let the cab heater running as well, otherwise the engine won't keep up the working temperature.
      With full tanks, I have 850 liters.
      At 800 rpm the engine uses around 3 liters an hour 😉 i hope this answer, made you a little wiser.. Otherwise, ask again 😉👍

      Hejsa 😊 alt er jo lidt en balance gang, jeg har flere gange tænkt på at, næste gang der skal lægges kæder på, så skal jeg huske at filme.. MEN, tit og ofte, så er det noget som skal gå tjept, det er dårligt vejr og som regel også bælgragende mørkt..
      Så det er indtil nu, bare blevet til et foto hist og pist..
      Det med at sidde fast, det bruger jeg ikke... 😉😁

    So what speeds you traveling at?

    • @Slipse
      @Slipse  4 года назад

      It varies a lot, depending on the temperature, but normally I'd do around 80km/h if there's below minus 8 degrees C. The colder, the better grip, the worst temperature is around 0 degrees C, because the ice and snow gets wet, and way more slippery..

      That's why England comes to standstill when it snows because it's never cold enough. 25 years driving artics in U.K and Europe but never got to your part of the world until I took a driving holiday in a classic car. Great driving roads.
