Canicatti: visit to family run bakery & Vineyard

On this episode of You, Me and Sicily we take you Canicatti in the province of Agrigento to meet a bread maker and a winemaker. Watch as we take you through the town, visit at bakery where they make not only bread but lunch items like pizza and sandwiches. Canicatti is the ancestral home of many who left Sicily seeking a better future to places like the US, Canada and Australia. Next we head to the winemaker to taste some delicious Sicilian wines.

My maternal grandfather and generations before him were from Canicatti. I traveled here in 2014 and thought that it was such a quant and warm community with welcoming, friendly people. I'm going back soon!

My father was born and raised in Canicatti! Our family crest (handed down, not from a website) states that we were Barons of the land once upon a time! Thank you for posting this! I miss my father and love to be reminded of him.

Hi I'm from Australia and my parents were from Licata Sicily, I see you have been to lovely Canicatti, well Licata is just a bit further down south seaside.
Please find the time to go there and sample some Licatese cuisine, the local granita and gelato brioche, the local BBQ is wonderful.
The first and last time I went there was in 1977 and I fell in love with Licata, if you do go there I know you will too.
Please let me know if you ever plan to go there soon, would make my day!
