I’m ITALIAN 🇮🇹as well!!!😊😃😁
My Husband & I have been married for 41 years!!! (Dated for 4 years).
We’re going to Italy in October!!!🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
It was definitely on my bucket list!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!💚🤍❤️🇮🇹
How fun!! Have an amazing trip :)
Hey from the South Carolina Coast. Wifey and I are Italian also. Also been married for 41 years. We are going to Italy in Feb, ok truth be told we are going to EPCOT Italy 😂 Hope you guys had a blast in Italy !
Even more respect for Giada as she rocks the Pink Floyd T.
Thanks for the tips Giada, my wife and I are planning a trip to Italy in September for her birthday, it’s a “bucket list” item for her.
Giada just CHUCKED that cup. 😂
I picked it up right after, don't worry! 🤪
😂@@Giadzy
She has people who will take care of it. Tossed to emphasize a point
Growing up seeing Giada for the time with her cooking show. I dead ass thought she was an angel. So beautiful
eww
Miss that cooking show
I don’t find her attractive
Dead ass?
Thank you so much Giada! My husband and I are going to Italy next year for our 30th wedding anniversary and I am so excited. This is so helpful! You, Giada, are the reason I want to go to Italy. I watched your show, Giada in Italy on hgtv years ago and ever since have wanted to go. Thank you for all your great tips! 💗💗
YAY! hope you have a great time!
Thank you for such a great video. I was raised in Europe (Spain) and the tips you mention do apply there too maybe with minor differences. Life over there is different, people really enjoy life and take time to savor every moment of it. I have never been to Italy but I know it is a very beautiful place and the people are wonderful. I am very happy to see you again. Have a wonderful day!
Giada, A+++ and not just for being a Pink Floyd fan-----this segment is 100% correct! That bread made me want to catch the next plane out with family... scarpetta!
Love Giada....so elegant, so down to earth at the same time.
Nice video, thank you. I love this principle to sit and drink coffee or eat, enjoying your food/drink.
I’ve been to Italy multiple times. Many restaurants open at 7:00 In tourist cities such as Florence the restaurants open earlier. Enjoy Italy the people are wonderful
Thank you Giada! I always love your videos. My daughter is 16 and I named her after you😊
Thank u melissa! Tell Giada hi ❤️
@@Giadzy my daughter was so excited when she saw this! Thank you ❤️
I’ve been to Italy twice. I can’t wait to go back!
Love you so much! You have inspired me as a chef my entire adult life! 🙏🏼🤍
Great tips Giada! Love your Pink Floyd shirt!❤
thank u! 🤗
I need that Pink Floyd Tshirt! Love it.
Looks like moths ate it. Yuck! When I was growing up if we had a tiny hole in our jeans it was EMBARRASSING! It was patched. Just looks ugly. Would you wear a suit with holes? Nope. Same for any shirt or pants.
Life is short, one must savour their delicacies. Italy is an ancient civilization, they know whats up.
great tips thank you!🥰
This is such a fun, informative video! Definitely needed this info before our Italy trip! Thanks Giada!❤
I am so glad it was useful!
Love this. Love the shirt Giada
Having been stationed in Europe twice, did get to meet Italian soldiers, very nice people. 😊💫☀️
hey girl- love the video!😀😉 So interesting- thank u for sharing🥰
Great vid Giada!! I really enjoyed it. ❤
Thank you! 😁
I always, always... Always look tge other person in the eye when talking or cheers-ing 🍾🥂 Saluti 💃
wow the pizza looked great, in New York we call it stand up pizza, when you fold it, it doesn't flop over lol, the only way, hot, hot, oven very quick, and out, Thank you I hope one day I can use your tips on how to eat in Italy. I haven't sat down to dinner in years, run,run ,run, plenty of stain sticks hahaha
My experience there, too. Love Italy. I brought back these manners except tipping.
Loved this video ✨💖🤌🏽
I am so glad you liked it!
I dig that shirt! My first concert was their first North American stop on the their Animals tour, in Miami, Apr 22 1977
How I hope to need this someday!
I miss Italy. I spent three years living in Gaeta as a kid. I would love to go back some day, to the neighborhood I lived in and see how much it’s change. I also want to go up to Florence I never got there
For a first timer that goes to Italy which places would you suggest?
Thanks for the tips; hubby and I are heading to Italy in June. And #teampineapple 🍍
hope u enjoy!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Whenever I’m in Italy I have my espresso standing at the bar & usually eat lunch that way. It’s never more than 15 mins. 😅😂
I’m 3rd generation Italian, my grandparents immigrated from Italy. But I could never eat a big meal at 9pm and sleep in late in the mornings. I’d be a wreck. Lol! I guess lunch in Italy will have to be my main meal.
That’s pretty much what we do when we’ve gone to Egypt to visit family, and they have a somewhat similar schedule in that way, particularly in the summer when trying to beat the worst of the heat.
In France, it’s the same. Dinner at 9pm
So helpful, 🙂
Love it. Great video
Loved this Giada ❤ and I Love pineapple on pizza too 😋 oh well 😅
Yum! I was looking for easy healthy recipes for after my daughter in law has her surgery. Easy enough to bake them up and store in frig or freezer. Then she can just heat and eat when she wants.
Giadzy.com has a ton of simple yet delicious recipes!
Do they sip their espresso? My experience has been that they down it like a shot.
I got takeout coffee last year in Rome with no problem. I hope no one comes after me.
She's trying to tell you what Italians do. Any business will cater to unusual requests if there's a buck in it for them. They probably charged you extra for the disposable cup.
Pineapple ftw!🎉
We talked about the pineapple with our Italian driver last year when visiting and she was appalled by the idea of that topping lol. She brought us to a restaurant in Sorrento, and on the menu.. pizza with pineapple.
They make it for tourists.
@@cerliezio Nope! I have seen Italians both young and old eating it. My wife and I were looking for traditional Italian food in Rome and our personal guide took us to a restaurant with a wood fire place with "Porchetta" a whole pig roasting over the fire. Across from us were two tables from one family eating pizza and two of the pizzas were with pineapple. I mentioned this to my wife and said, "they're eating Canadian pizza". One of the kids turned around as he understood me and said something to his parents, whereupon the others looked in our directions and said, "è molto buono", with some of the older people giving us a thumbs up. I didn't know what they meant until I asked our guide later. Personally, we preferred the traditional dishes. We wanted to try the Porchetta, but it wasn't ready so we had carbonara with guanciale instead.
Great vid
Lol..no one ever returned our tips, in fact they seemed awfully grateful.Come to think of it , neither did they in France Germany, Portugal or in England😊
Yeah I don't know where she eats, but we've always tipped in Italy.
Maybe she's talking about really high end restaurants where it's included in the bill.
@@Coco-zu9ob No In any restaurant waiters are paid by the owner of the restaurant and not by the patrons. Only in the US owners get by with this stupid rule relieving themselves of their obligation for a decent wage and full benefits like holiday and pension funds, In Europe any owner acting like that would be arrested.
I cannot wait to go to Italy. I'm going to take my daughter when she turns 18 and I want to see all of it.
I love pineapple on a pepperoni pizza it adds that bit of sweet to offset the salty meats plus I feel like I am doing something healthy by eating pineapple on my pizza
Please be my Italian tour guide!!
Delivery is definitely a thing in Italy. In the big cities it's usually very popular, and in smallest town we sure order pizza sometimes.
Viva Italia ✝️🇮🇹♥️🕊️
I lived in italy for many years ,I'll take the liberty to add my two cents :
Alot of this info is yes and no .
Traditionally speaking and many years ago i would agree with Glada ,but so much has changed over the years till current times .
Cappuccino drinking ; Yes its a morning drink and usually stops around 11 a.m., but they drink 15 expresso coffees threw out the day into the evening 😂🤪.
Restaurant tipping: Everybody loves a tip , I always tipped and they immensely appreciate a tip .
Food delivery:
That's all we did last year on week days was order pizza delivery, pizza delivery is a common practice now . Weekends we go out.
What else?
Oh food on the run grab and go.
In the city it's common to eat panninis ( sandwiches) on the go same with foccàcia ( mini pizza') on the go.
Hawaiian pizza ;
In italy they probably dont order ham and pineapple pizza but guess what i saw , pizza wirh cured ham and figs 😂😂 . That's there version of sweet and sour pizza .
Basically italy has adopted alot of American customs, with the use of internet social media platforms face book , tic toc etc etc Italian traditions are becoming something of the past.
I love you Giada
You can go to dinner as early as six even in Italy. The kids have to go to school the next morning in Italy too. You are right about the to go food. No such thing and therefore they don’t have mountains of garbage to dispose of.
Still So Beautiful Giada" I Hope Life Is Being Good To You These Days!! Everything You Make Looks So Delicious!! Cheer's To You!!
Thank you! ❤️
A very famous Italian chef made the pineapple pizza and a lot of my Italian friends do enjoy it. Also it’s not a pineapple pizza it’s a Hawaiian pizza which means pineapples go with ham.
I'd like to see a video about what Europeans need to do when they come to america.. now that would be hilarious
Love your shirt ! The cleaning people at public restrooms that clean each stall after each use should also be tipped.
In Italy now delivery is everywhere
We are talking about going to Italy. What is best month to go? Where is the best place to go? What to avoid?
Giada you are soooo pretty. 😅
Just go and enjoy yourself. They're going to enjoy taking your tourist dollars. ;)
Yes, there is delivery. It’s not common but it does exist.
I have a huge problem with what I've seen here concerning espresso in the morning. In my experience, in any larger city in Italy you step in, que up to the bar, order your espresso with or without an additional item, mix your sugar if you want, drink it and have a bite and then you're on your way. Only the elderly and tourists sit and enjoy their cafe.
The saying that you don't drink a cappuccino after 11 am , has been said so often , that it has become truth ..it is not. No one will raise eyebrows here in Milan if you have a much later cappuccino....even in the afternoon .
They eat late all over Europe and i don't get it. Doesn't anyone have to get up in the morning?
Pizza should be folded and savored holding the melted cheese in place. And without pineapple. Sorry. I agree with your parents on that one. 🙂 RJ
What about the rules on fish w/cheese.?
I have an Italian friend, an actual Italian who was born and raised in Italy that eats tuna pasta with cheese, so...🤷♀️
I love pineapple on pizza. It is really an acquired taste 😂
I always use a knife and fork to eat my pizza. I was doing it right maybe I was Italian in my former life 😂
2:54 this is how I know I’m Italian, I automatically want to use my left hand to scoop things as if bread is in that hand. My dad also does this 💀💀
3:48 every time someone says they like pineapple on pizza, I cringe so hard. This is Psychopathic behavior.
Did the Roman gods make the bylaws on java etiquette 😅
So what I am getting is that I can twirl the pineapple pizza with my elbows as a scarpetta to eat it.
Good to know leave no doubt thanks..pineapple on pizza is delicious 🍍🍕
Pineapple on pizza is amazing ❤. With salty bacon and cheese.. totally
There is a lot of delivery actually!
Just a thought, Gina, I have that T-shirt of PINK FLOYD!! Better on you, I'm 63 but still pullin it off!
Sorry Giada, I saw pineapple pizza served in Italy. Guess when enough uncouth barbarians ask for something you put it on the menu.
I love how she threw the cup on the ground 😮😂🤣🤣🤣
is it ok to throw your empty coffee cup on the ground in Italy ?
Do you really need someone to tell you not to do that!!!
It's not accurate that they don't have food delivery in Italy. Unless I imagined all those DoorDash drivers on mopeds in Naples. The country is changing. They have Amazon now too. LOL.
Exactly. I don't know when she was in Italy last, but I've been there in recent times, and most sit down restaurants nowadays do expect a tip for a full meal service, not so much at cafés, maybe only a few cents that is left as change. And yes, takeout is common all across Europe too.
I know! I live in Milan and the delivery guys are everywhere.
I’ve heard the no cappuccino thing many times before. I like cappuccino at any time of the day. I’m not that fussy about espresso …. The way I look at it is I am not Italian. I am on holiday. It’s obvious I’m a tourist when I’m there. I’m not interested in impressing anyone else while I am there. So, I will ask for cappuccino at 3 pm if that is what I want 🤷♀️
Disgusting
Why disgusting ?? It’s milk and coffee. Who cares?
@@kellyc5551 a lot of hot milk in the afternoon? Maybe on summer, when we have 35° and after a lunch? Yuk...
Yeah they fold their pizza just like a New Yawker !
Sicilians.
☕ 🍵
Cento anni!
Giada you're not updated! In Italy we have a lot of delivery!!!
There are many places that offer pineapple on pizza because they are catering to the tourists. ~ Croce & Carol Amato
looks like Ill piss off a lot of people when i go to Italy 😂
add some chiles to your pineapple pizza...I promise you will never come back from it lol
I had a cappuccino after lunch, it was okay.
I know people eat spaghetti with fork and spoon. Is that okay? For me, i rather use a fork.
No, we use just the fork
The absolute only thing you have to remember when in Italy is when you cook pasta break in in half, that way it fits into the pot to boil and that way its not too long so you don't have to twirl it on a fork you can just eat it much easier. Any real Italian already knows this and will never tell you because they figure everyone is taught this since birth
Bs. Nobody in italy breaks pasta.
@@tizioincognito5731 I know I just use this comment to make Italians mad 🤣🤣
@@RossMalagarie 🤣
But it’s definitely okay to litter?
Don't put cheese on your pasta that contains fish such as pasta and shrimp, etc. Don't share your pizza. Don't expect stores to always be open and don't expect store to be closed for 20 minutes or an hour either. Don't order coffee with your meal. Don't wave your hand to hail a taxi.
I have an Italian friend, born, raised, and lives in Italy, who puts cheese on pasta with tuna and salmon so 🤷♀️
@@Keyrose-my3xr where in italy are they from?
@@pasqualinamichelaconsiglio9391 Lombardy 🙂
@@Keyrose-my3xr thank you. And, as I thought. The north of Italy. French-Italians. Panettone-Italians. It explains why your italian friend from Italy adds cheese to a pasta dish with shellfish.
@pasqualinamichelaconsiglio9391 Mhm... i dont know why, but your reply felt a little condescending to Northern Italians.
Both his parents moved together from the South to the North of Italy when he was little. So no, that isn't the reason at all.
You don’t cheers, you toast.
Love you, did you get my Valentine's present?
Babe.... 🥰
Live in Sicily and can get pizza delivered
Sleeping in? So no one has a job they gave to be at?😂
I think maybe she was talking about people going there for the summer…🤷♀️
Hi same in Germany eat the pizza with knife and fork my mom told me my son and I did not know how to eat no pineapple on pizza never not good no tip in Germany either many things the same ❤️♥️🥨🧸
Imagine me and Dua having lunch with Giada
