My aircraft is based out of KCPK, Chesapeake Regional Airport, KPVG’s next door neighbor. I have been really impressed by their progress in the last two decades. I have no doubt that they will continue to be successful and add value to Southeastern Virginia’s aviation community.
I Love what you have done for not aviation in general but how you have addressed everything aviation and made it what it is today. Keep up the excellent work and Godspeed on your future endeavors.
Mike, started watching you about 3 months ago and have been an off and on viewer. lately the quality and level of information you have been putting out on the aviation industry has impressed me. you are headed in the right direction. I am now a subscriber. please continue to put out these great videos. It is great to see the business side of aviation and learn about the people that make it happen for the rest of us. Luv ya dude, keep up the great work.
While building time in the 80’s, I worked at a couple of older-style FBO’s. One, at an international airport, was one of a string of FBO’s on the field. We maintained a majority share of the business on the field, in spite of our older look and amenities. Oddly, it was that older, classic feel, our customers liked, including some big celebrities, that were regulars. What I see here, reminds me of that, but nicer. This is a beautiful terminal, but with that less-corporate feel. Congratulations on saving this great airport and the unique vision you have had for it. I will certainly visit. Safe skies !
I really liked that. Although it was almost an infomercial, Steve Fox is a great speaker, and he is obviously very passionate about aviation, and the airport he owns. If only more businesses out there were owned by those who are both are passionate about the business they are engaged in, and know how to run a successful business, rather than being run by accountants.
Love this airport. Landed there when taking my daughter back to college (Old Dominion)... very nice facility and friendly staff. Look forward to the next time I get to go there.
If I had been Bill Gates, I would have long bought the land on which Meigs Field Airport was located - which was stupidly closed because the Senate had not approved renewal of the business license for another 25 years and a mayor (Richard M. Daley - probably leftist send bulldozers demolish the runway without warning in 2002 - I would rebuild the airport and its structures exactly as it was before it was destroyed and finally could actually fly as I always did when flying the first MS Flight Simulators 😁
Yeah I agree, I couldn't believe when I turned on the news in the morning and found out that my favorite little airport was all torn up by bulldozer. I live 4 miles from where the airport was located and remember going there with my father and watching the planes. That airport could have been very profitable for Chicago if it was under the right management. To this day I still can't believe that our stupid Mayor ordered the airport to be destroyed without anyone knowing, some news stations at first thought that someone with a bulldozer simply went crazy and destroyed the runways, then they found out that it was the mayor that ordered the destruction of the runways.
Daley did this after taking about a billion from the feds for expansion of OHare Airport with the understanding that Migs would continue to run. Daley got his funds and the next day he ordered Miegs destroyed. I read because his wife didn’t like it, she wanted it to be a park, but that may be hearsay.
$38,000,000 in Government grants. That’s taxpayer money. That’s corporate socialism alive and well in USA. Good for the economy and the taxpayer. Don’t ever let the word ‘socialism’ scare you…… Too many politicians are trying though. Great video.
How many acres long do I need for a private runway? I'm in upstate NY with 15 or so acres. I want to build my own private runway. Got any good tips???! Ty!!!
great to see how a change to simply a more motivated owner can have such a big effect

This is where I hangar my Skyhawk.
Does anyone still build residential airparks?
Dope!
Impressive! Great interview. Investment opportunities?
I'd love to own my own private airport in the future.
Are you part of the BPA ( black pilots of America)?
Don’t you hate it when you accidentally buy an airport.
Yeah I hate when that happens, just yesterday I purchased North Korea by accident. I can't wait to be a dictator, heads will be rolling.
Nice video keep it up

A good 24 acres depending on size of runway
