      Sarah lee Thank you. 💜 They market so many expensive products just because natural hair is "trending." It's so hard to find reasonably priced products these days. smh.

I know a lot of folks who use bath and body works lotion on their hair as well. I never tried it myself. I went back to using good ole grease and water on my hair to save money and time shopping for expensive hair products. Amazing video Queen!

    I like your hair, make up, your skin is flawless,and your roller technique is good I remember paper bags torn into pieces and twisted around the hair as a hair roller substitute and as for lotion I know someone who used baby lotion and blue magic hair grease on their daughter hair it made it soft, easy to manage and the results were a full head of long hair just like anything it has it's benefits/pros for some people and cons for others you gave the paper bag rollers a upgrade with the plastic bag ones

    First of all you are so pretty and the girls came out looking just lovely… And the style method that you used to achieve the curls is something that my grandmother used to do when I was a little girl. Thanks for sharing an innovative technique. I learned something new today, in a pinch, this can come in handy. Nothing wrong with finding an inexpensive alternative method to hair care. Hair product manufactures are making a fortune on our “Natural movement”, I don’t even want to think about how many products I don’t even use anymore that are adorning my bathroom counter tops and cabinets. :-)

      You are welcome, I’m looking forward to your blogs. When I first went natural after transitioning nearly two years ago, I was clueless to taking care of my natural hair to help it regrow length and retain its health. I had been perming my hair forever and had just had it professionally highlighted, (which together I believe contributed to my severe hair loss). During my transition I watched a lot of youtube natural hair videos, but you are the second person I’m subscribed to. 🙂 P.S. On my Pinterest is a link to my Hair Journey....www.pinterest.com/mellaneses/my-natural-hair-journey/ 🌸

    wait a minute honey, you just mighta did sumn. imma try this, i want perm rollers but if i can do this until i get the rollers i definitely will! you curls came out so pretty! it's so funny that people think that when us girls with 4c have protective hairstyles (twist outs and bantu knot outs) and other hairstyles like this and they don't even notice we're 4c. And yes, olive oil is amazing!!!!!

    • @ladyBloom.
      @ladyBloom. 7 лет назад +4

      ladyshawann I get that all the time 😂😂😂

    • @malikahbey
      @malikahbey 7 лет назад +7

      ladyshawann the ignorance when it comes to 4c hair is ridiculous. I was looking at another video with girl with a perm roller tutorial with 4c hair and someone in the comments had the nerve to tell the girl in the video that she wasn't 4c because her hair looks "too soft." I guess they've never seen 4c hair at its healthy point when its moisturized? I keep my hair moisturized all the time and my hair is more manageable and softer. People forget 4c hair can be manipulated into hairstyles, it just takes effort and letting your hair form overnight

    Seeing you use "reuse & recycle" those plastic bags into rollers made me smile; because, when I was a kid (in the 70's), before plastic bags were invented, my mom rolled my hair with brown paper bag strips. The curls were always curlier than the foam rollers, which I hated sleeping on, anyway.

    ....body lotion for your hair...well...thats one way to prevent your hair from growing and keeping it soft. Body lotion is HORRIABLE for the hair! I did that when I was kid before cause i bored and it left my hair so damn dry. Worst idea you could ever do for your hair smh

    • @PureEstrogen
      @PureEstrogen  7 лет назад +49

      Tatiana Ragland 😂😂😂 That's just the way it is when you're young and dumb. But seriously, it's just a quick fix, not a regimen builder. My lotion is really softening on both my skin and hair, and hair grows from the inside out not the outside in. The products you use may affect your retention, but your hair won't stop growing. Either way, different hair does different things even when using the same hair products and techniques, so you can't say with absolute certainty that what failed for you will fail when others do it. At least your hair didn't fall out in clumps. 😊

    • @tatianaragland4007
      @tatianaragland4007 7 лет назад +8

      Pure Estrogen nah this is a result of someone being to lazy and broke to just get some real hair products 😒 Also this can prevent your hair from growing and retaining moisture! Body lotion has different and stronger chemicals in it that our regular hair products do not contain for a reason! Body lotion will clogged up the hair follicle and strands preventing any real moisture to get into the hair strand itself. Hence preventing breakage which entails length retention!! Also hair grows from the scalp hun! Everything you eat and put on your scalp and hair can either help it grow faster or slow it down even more!

    • @PureEstrogen
      @PureEstrogen  7 лет назад +89

      Tatiana Ragland It can only clog your follicles if it is used on your scalp and also happens to be comedogenic, in which case your skin would also break out since scalp is skin also. Not all lotions or products in general are created equal and unfortunately, your outcome was trash, while mine was better than expected. What chemical properties of body lotion literally halt hair growth and prevent you from absorbing moisture? Please, explain this mechanism(s).

For about 6 months I have been using flexible rods and perm rods but they pull my hair out and at night it just hurts in some places to sleep and my scalp gets sensitive. Also my hair doesn't hold styles for days so I have to work with it every day. I love the bags because they are more flexible and soft for night sleeping.
