Hate to break it to you Abby but this is not Ballet. It's just a lyrical piece without the tricks. It was still danced beautifully by Maddie.

Abby said it was a ballet inspired routine. She never said it was ballet. Please don’t jump the gun and assume things that aren’t true.

This isn't ballet, it's a very well executed lyrical solo. That just wasn't ballet. It's no fault of Maddie's, it should't have been called ballet. I highly doubt it was entered in the ballet category. Most of those steps weren't ballet at all like all the floor work and turns (girls don't do a la seconde turns in ballet, they do fouette turns). Also, to be entered in a ballet category you have to be wearing either flat ballet slippers or pointe shoes.
I don’t think it was technically entered into ballet. As you said it was a lyrical entry. I think it was a ballet inspired piece and there was some story behind it

But its a style of dance? I dont think the song has to have lyrics for the dance to be a lyrical piece.
I was thinking the same. As a ballerina I think it’s important to show ballet and unfortunately this isn’t really it. Especially the floor work as soon as I saw the start I knew it would be another lyrical or contemporary 🙃

Barely any of this is ballet. I'm not hating on Maddie cause she didn't choreograph it but I mean she's not even wearing ballet slippers or pointe shoes!

I’m a ballerina and a competitive dancer and all I’m going to say is that even tho it may not have all been ballet and she might not have been wearing ballet shoes she pulled it off!☺️😊

If another person tells me that Chloe should've had this solo, I'll blow my head. THIS IS MADDIE'S SOLO. She did beautifully, and as much as I love chloe, Maddie is the one who deserves this solo because she has shown tremendous improvement in her technique. Besides chloe's pirouettes (which are FLAWLESS, can't argue with that), some of her skills, such as flexibility, are regressing.
Chloe is not better than Maddie she just has long legs and Maddie can do harder ones the one she do Maddy d all the time and most of the time she did it better than the time close did it

She had a growth spurt her hip change for God sake, give the girl two seconds to get a custom to her new body. And on top of that Abby has not been allowing Chloe to train during the time of season 4. no matter how much Christi tried to pay 💰 for classes. They refused to admit Chloe and have her train at the studio. So not only was her body changing out of her control there was nobody to help her deal with her new changes.
I am tired of the girls getting "ballet" dances, and then we see the dance and it's a lyrical dance with 1 ballet pose.

hate to break it to you but like 80% of this was actual ballet the only things that weren’t were the floorwork and the a la seconds which would have been fouettés but even some of the turns were ballet inspired

@@Martin_5290 yeah no i’m a student in a ballet school right now and have been dancing since i was 3 like i said there were some questionable lyrical moves but a ballet dance doesn’t have to be all strict and classical my ballet dance for my recital has some floor work

This was so gorgeous she did an amazing job. But It seem like abby hold maddie back with the chorography. To me this seem like a lyrical dance with no front Ariel and less like a ballet routine or I could be wrong thought. Cause iam no dancer all I know it don't look like the ballet I use to watch on tv when I was little

Maddie is an amazing dancer and her facial expressions are amazing! for all you haters out there Maddie cant help being the favourite , that is abby's decision yeah sure abby shouldn't have a favourite or even tell the girls or the moms about it but stop trying to make it out as if its maddie's fault when its not. i like all the girls the same ,they are all amazing dancers but it had to be said as all you haters are trying to put Maddie down. like its simple , if you don't like how the show works don't watch it!
Coming from a ballerina, Maddie's choreography wasn't ballet, it was still executed wonderfully.
I remember watching this when I was little (I did not have a YT account or chanel back then) and wow she has improved so much maddie if you read this I have been watching you since I was 4! I love you

this is not ballet, it is a lyrical with some ballet tricks.
Yeah, I can't remember which solo it's called, but it's one of the ones where she wears the white angel costume, it's pretty much this exact same dance and it's put in the lyrical category
Also, if you notice she's not even wearing ballet shoes. She's wearing lyrical turners, because it's a lyrical dance

Was it ballet? No. Could Chloe have done better with her more ballet technique focused dance curriculum. Maybe.
Maddie still did a beautiful job. She should have slowed her turns down and focused on her turn out for this dance. Abby needs an actual ballet choreographer.

I’m not saying that this solo was bad, it’s actually very underrated and gets too much hate, but this is not in any way shape or form ballet. If Abby wouldn’t have tried to make it seem like “ballet” or actually did a ballet routine similar to Chloe’s (which also weren’t very “ballet”), this solo would get way less hate.
Really....why not show the full group dance instead.
Maddie did great. I would’ve liked to see Chloe do this since she is more of a ballerina,but the girls have to be good at all styles and Maddie slayed

This is literally a ballet with lyrics, I loved Maddie, she executed it perfect as always, Maddie has good legs and points, Maddie is great, the song is very beautiful, I love it 🥺💖💖
To everyone: this is ballet with a contemporary twist to it. Yes I know I'm not a dance expert, but I took ballet and recognize many basic ballet moves. And Abby did try out a group ballet number in season 2, but it got second. So that's probably a main reason why ALDC isn't big on ballet. But another good ballet number was the Black Swan duet with Maddie and Chloe, which I'm sure most of you have seen already.

I love this dance it reminds me how I was born. My Spine did not go up went up, but the doctors put my spine up.
Is it just me or does she roll in her feet? I had a friend do this, people often don't notice but when you see pictures or watch this video slowly and pause it you'll see her 'flawless' technique isn't so flawless

Yeah, people keep constantly saying Maddie was the best dancer and she had the best technique, but no she never did. In fact, if you actually look anytime she went against kalani, or went against Kendall, or, Chloe, they all got higher technique scores, by a couple points, sometimes even more than a couple.

Ok coming from a ballet dancer most of this was actual ballet apart from a couple questionable steps that were more lyrical the only things lyrical were the floor work and the turns (a la seconds are only used by boys on stage in ballet girls do fouettés on stage but we practice both)
