Vogue travels to America, a country with the highest per-capita number of female prisoners in the world - 57 of them currently held under sentence of death. And, on the flip side, 37% of correction officers in the US penal system are women. Vogue experiences life as an inmate at The Miami-Dade Prison Bootcamp in Miami, Florida, home to almost 100 convicted Felons aged 16 - 24 and one of the toughest prison regimes in the US. Except Miami-Dade is different, from Head Warden Lieutenant Green down to the tough-as-tarmac drill sergeants - the bootcamp is run almost entirely by women.
Vogue also travels to The Lowell Female Correctional Institute in Ocala, Central Florida currently home to five female death row prisoners. There she meets convicted murderer Emilia Carr who, at 30 years of Age, is the youngest female prisoner on Death Row in America.

The lady doing the interviews seems some what delusional in her thinking. She doesn't agree with the amount of time the one kid was facing. Some of these juveniles are out there robbing and killing and doing crimes worst than some of the adult offenders because they figure that they can't be tried as an adult. She is looking at them like they are innocent kids especially when she asked the guy if he felt sorry for them and look at the face of the cute kid (something similar to that). The guy said "no". They are in a place to try to give them some kind of structure and discipline and not to treat them like you are their parents. I think the journalist should have been someone who is not too naive. Her best bet would be to stay in Ireland because she would not survive mentally somewhere else. She seems like she lives in an enclosed environment where crime does not exist.

The Female DI's tough as nails. Anyone who lacks discipline, or has a problem with authority in their life will fail. To me, it seem that this Irish Williams woman reporter is extremely unprofessional. Like you are a journalist that is supposed to be unbiased and give us the story. You ask question like "What is it like for you knowing you are going to be killed" with that goofy smile. Like how about "What has gone through your mind now that you have been sentenced to death"? Her questions continued with brow lifting questions of "WTF did she just ask"? Then the entire interview had that peculiar grin smiling after asking serious questions. Like stop trying to look pretty and just cover the story. Nothing about the case or what she was saying was joking or smiling material. Next, I have to read the story on this Emilia Carr girl. It's hard to find information on what specifically happened. All they have is she tried to break the neck with the husband who didn't get the death sentence, and eventually strangled her with a trash back? Is this correct? My question is, there are TONS of murders across the USA with serial individuals, or just everyday criminals. I never understood why some get the death penalty while others walk free after serving 15yrs on good behavior. I guess all judges are not the same and have different personalities. You'd figure there would be a more defined bar for when you give the death penalty or not.

I live in Canada and the justice system is not always right. Example is David Milgaard, he did 23 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. In some ways I am glad we do not have the death penalty here. That being said, if someone did commit a serious crime that deserves the death penalty, they better be 100% sure that they were the ones who did it. I do not know nor do I want to know how many innocent people have been put to death for something they did not do. And if they are 100% sure, then the death penalty should be used. Look at Chis Watts who killed his wife, 2 young daughters and the unborn baby boy. In my opinion he is one that does deserve the death sentence. And the more pain inflicted the better.
