BK was a great place in the 80s. The whoppers were larger, fresher, and the flame broiler was up front in the store directly behind the service counter where you could see the fire and the burgers moving down the belt. Fast forward to today where none of that is true.
when I 1st started my job (1984) once in a while on Saturday we'd go to Burger King for lunch. They just opened for the day so we would get Whoppers right off the broiler. Dang they were good! Fries were lousy back then too.

Their tag-line was, "It takes two hands to handle a Whopper, " and they were telling the truth.

For the chicken yes…
Regular nuggets have 310 mg Sodium per 4 pieces these have 1290 per 8 pieces. So more than 2x salt
That's a lot, just an absurd amount.

Checked the app and 8 peice normal nuggets have 990 mg so not double the salt but still an extra 300mg

I loved the BK Texas Whopper. Only thing I ate from there. When they quit selling it, I quit going there. I tried having them make it after it was over, order a burger with the bbq sauce, onions, jalapeños, etc, they said they can't do that. Then I told them that I can't eat there anymore then.

Has anyone ever considered that these fast-food restaurants are pushing spicy, salty and generally over seasoned items as a way of disguising subpar ingredients hidden within unimaginative menu items?
They are effectively trying to mask a 150% or so price increase (I believe a 10 pc used to be $1.50) of chicken nuggets by coating them in a Buffalo glaze. Classic
I would always go to BK because in canada it was 2.99 for a 10-piece, which was really fair. Then pickle nuggies came out and were 2.99 for 8. This model then permeated to regular nuggies. Then later I noticed they became 3.99 for 8. Maybe it's a blessing i never order them anymore, though. They werent that great anyways.
$1.50 10 pieces were my jam. One of those and two whopper juniors back when they were like $1.30 and i was good to go

The secret to covering up poor quality ingredients and lack of flavor is to dump salt all over everything. They've been doing it for decades now. All of them.

They own Tim Hortons in Canada. That's a license to print money as the whole countey is seemingly addicted to coffee and bad donuts.
I have to regretfully admit that sometimes, i really need and like the greasy crap they make. Particularly with their chicken sandwich. I know…. Im terrible 😂 but it also helps to “clean me out”

BK here is terrible, all the burgers are wet as hell and nasty. Nothing tastes remotely fresh and the prices are insane.

They’re more like a Burger Jester.
The only thing I truly like from Burger King is the "Texas Double Whopper". It's basically a double whopper but with mustard and jalapeños. That is great. Everything else is meh to awful. Oh, and their fries are good when they're fresh, but degrade quickly as they cool down. Every time I get fries from there, I eat them in the car, because even an 8 minute drive home will ruin them.

Worked for BK for 7.5 years and i honestly miss when we did actual spicy breading for our nuggets and sandwiches. Its so sad they dont do them anymore i always loved the spicy chicken with pepperjack cheese and green pepper aioli sauce and it was the best thing now they just glaze everything with a mid sauce and expect people to be okay with that
I like Burger King, but I rarely get anything from there anymore because they just screw up orders too much. I'll order a Whopper. They then ask if I want cheese. I tell them no cheese. Then there's a 50/50 chance that my Whopper will have cheese on it after I specifically told them I didn't want cheese. What's the mental breakdown that causes them to not be able to follow the very easiest request? Maybe they need to come up with a name for a burger that specifically has no cheese on it?

I don't know what they did to the recipe for the sauce on the nuggets, but I broke out in hives after eating them. Last time they made the spicy nuggets, I had no issue

I am always sad the BK there is so bad, while in Poland is best of the main brands. Has best quality, good prices and actually interesting menu.

I used to work for BK. This is pretty accurate. Just average, barely passable food.
Is that even chicken? BK nuggets seem they are made of filler material mixed with 1/1000 parts chicken.

US Burger King. International still has the fries better than McDonalds. The ones we got rid of for 'satisfries'. And their chicken fries are still crunchy. Not microwaved like ours.
And.... well, thats it. Even internationally, those are the only 2 things worth ordering from BK. But at least they have 2 items.

@@perry92964 and Arby's had the best fish. That hushpuppy breaded fish. Thick, real fish, and had that backyard fish-fry flavor. Used the cornmeal breading, like catfish. But... they got rid of those, too. I knew the manager and traded a tobbacco-leaf herb-rolled treat for a whole frozen bag. But I've already used them all. 😔

I think it’s impossible to get hot food from Burger King. It’s like they make the day’s food in the morning and then it sits on the counter the rest of the day. I’ve started asking for a regular chicken sandwich “fresh out of the fryer, I don’t mind waiting the extra time.” It’s like a totally different sandwich.
The problem I see is the lines at mcds, burger king, and wendys are longer than the good fast food places. Ppl need to stop going otherwise why would they change.
I can solve BK's issue in three easy steps:
Hire competent managers.
Clean house both literally and figuratively.
Bring the Big King back and make a public apology.
🤔 Not sure that last move would save them from anything... the first two are great ideas.

I had to make a trip to the city. We stopped at a fast food competitor.
What has happened!? The burger was half the size, came with 4 little chicken nuggets and a small fries, smaller like kiddie small. The price was too much.
Next time I will bring my own lunch. Unless we go to a good sit down restaurant.

Fast food quality has really plunged in America since the 2020 lockdowns... what happened? Did they all simultaneously lose the ability or desire (or funding) to give their employees decent training at the job anymore, or what? "Meh, good enough" is going to lose them staggering amounts of money in the long run...

I’ve never understood why sometimes when I get a whopper the bun is perfect, but more times then not it’s like they soaked the buns in water. Just soggy and terrible.

Super salty and overly spicy food isn't edible for most people. They should've reviewed them themselves BEFORE selling them to the public.
My local BK burned down about 6 months ago. Doesn't appear they're going to rebuild.
Happened in my hometown 20 plus years ago. And sure enough, they never rebuilt it. Shame because it was actually really good back in the 90's.

I think if the word "glazed" is near the product name I want it like sweet and sour consistency

Never seen anyone take 5 bites to finish a nugget until now.
About a month ago, my local BK had on the menu cheesy tater tots. When I looked in my bag…it was actually their mozzarella sticks with cold cheese on top. So disappointed. I couldn’t even eat it🤢

I am just in awe that a normal restaurant can cost just as much as standarized, assembly line super optimized fast food chain, and make better food. Real restaurants must be cheating somehow.

The fast food chains have, since 2020, reduced training and increased prices to cope with inflation... that's the only reasons I can think of for the mess they're in now. Their new hires are badly taught and can't cope (yet?) with keeping order details straight when serving large groups of customers...

Frankly, I think the problem with Burger King is them chasing trends and gimmicks rather than quality. I remember when Burger King Whoopers were worth it. They were distinct and tasty and I rather liked them. Then something happened in the '00s that dropped the quality of their beef patties significantly; to be fair, this would also happen to Carl's Jr./Hardees Angus beef burgers to the point they don't really taste like beef anymore.
BK needs to do a reset and refocus on quality, with stipulations in their franchise contracts that would encourage franchisees to improve. They won't make as much money in the short-term, but the quality upgrade would eventually pay out.
in the 90s the whoppers were 99 cents. My family would get the whoppers from bk and go over to McDs for the fries. They were close to each other. Wow have times changed, BK service is terrible thus havent been back in over a decade.
I think I've watched too many of these reviews because when I read the headline of this one I said it in my head in this guy's voice and inflections.

I never feel the need to use dipping sauces with Wendy's nuggets. But BK nuggets MUST have sauce, otherwise they are inedible

I tried the buffalo nuggets today and thought they were very good. Mine were definitely dripping with sauce, I liked them a lot!
Dude, I had a royal crispy chicken and it had this bizzare sauce on it! it was absolutely disgusting and tasted so horrible, i tried to eat it twice and my 2nd bite into the chicken was literally a leather shoe. absolutely nuts!

The burger kings near me are always packed, yet the food is always lackluster. It makes no sense. Burger King isn't even cheap anymore, why do people put up with this nonsense
My guess is that the food at BK is still delicious for certain folks.
Difference in standards. If you are used to eating food that's of a lower or equal quality to burgerking, then you likely won't have any issues with their food.
