  • Caesar III custom map runs in 2024 continue with this gem from Sudazima. post-salting, Caesar has ordered the reconstruction of Carthage in his image, but the funds to do so are very explicitly a loan, Carthage military still operate in the area and terrain offers many challenges of its own. caesar3.heaven...

In Rome they used Ab Urbe Condita or ‘since the founding of the city’. The city being Rome, obviously

And before that they used ante urbe condita or before the founding of the city

Thanks for coming back to Caesar 3. I'd never seen or heard of the game series before you and I understand very little but watching you make these little cities and humming along to the music is always a delight to watch.

Caesar III is one of the longest running games I've regularly played. Eventually I put it down for a year or so, but I always come back and always feel we have more to offer each other. I learn new things and I make new city designs.

The attack timed to coincide with the returning army was impressive. Really clever use of those mechanics by the map maker.

You can tell that the creator went out of their way to use the original map as a base and change very little, but still gave some personal flourishes for difficulty's sake.

i love watching caesar 3. personally haven't played it much, until i found out about it a few years ago. but another source of great enjoyment comes from its relation to stronghold, which is a childhood game for me. there are so many similarities in almost every area - graphics, mechanics, gameplay, theming. i believe the dev studios are related, with some key people working on both games.
that oracle with 2 upgraded fountains on both sides in the patrician block looks really good
please bring the uraas back, the military screams are so ear piercingly loud

Hi Jake, after this stream Sudazima updated the map and now at the moment when you say that you're sitting without money i laugh a lot. Now we have just 2 years of selling marble and half of this time you're crating the economy, and half of the half time you have sand storms and have 0 donkeys, invasions became harder, less spot for marble mining. Now this map is just out of hell and i really like it. I've spend 2 years of ultra debt -5k+, defended against 2 romans army and won the game. Sudazima have made incredibly efficient and punishment map i'm really proud that i've won it.

I wish we could get this game but with realistic size and population numbers. Surely modern computers can handle Caesar 3 but with a 400 000 population metropolis and a crazy Massive map? This way you could have an entire campaign in the same city area, starting with a few tents and ending with thousands of buildings. Maybe a time skip after every mission emulating 10-50 years of organic evolution/devolution and changing trade routes
I don't know if it would be fun in practice but to me it sounds like a dream
