    Would have loved to have seen some examples of what kind of footage this would produce. Personally, I'm having a hard time visualizing when I would want to use a rig like this, so some examples would have helped me out. Maybe others have a better imagination than me :-)

    I've watched this 3-4 times. I'm using your idea as a way to configure a system that I can use--to take a 360-degree video of an elevated object in a very dark cave. I will put this on a vertical boom pole, and will beef up the arm extensions. thx again

    This is great, if you're going for that ODed on opioids or too drunk to stand look. The camera obviously has a bias on the roll axis (with that huge light attached to one side), making it hard to control. Nice idea though for clicks. There's a reason there is no footage showing what this looks like in camera.

    I like the idea a lot when using the cage setup. I'd be very hesitant about doing it directly on camera though. That's a lot of leverage on the very small hot shoe. I'd be afraid of doing one wrong move and wrecking that part of my camera - and who knows what else might be damaged at the same time.

    • @FellowFilmmaker
      @FellowFilmmaker  7 месяцев назад

      Yes it could, but it's an option all the same. I've done a top handle like that for many months and didn't have a problem. I also never use my hot shoe for flash units anyway, so it was a risk I was ok making

    • @MiroSays
      @MiroSays 7 месяцев назад

      Definitely an option and good that you showed it. I'd just be afraid of ruining (part of) my camera. I don't care about the hot shoe either, but perhaps something else could be damaged it it is ripped off.

    Great idea, highly recommend using with a cage. Hot shoe on the R cameras isn't the strongest and I've read a lot of complaints about it breaking off when used with a speedlight.

    • @FellowFilmmaker
      @FellowFilmmaker  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks for that info, super good to know.
      I've done the hot/cold shoe before with just a handle a bunch. I think the key is to be smart with it and use it with two hands when it's getting hefty. But I agree, a cage is safer :D

    OOooooo!! And booming a shotgun mic that way as a one man band....I love that. So many times we are looking for ways to mic someone, whether wirelessly, which could be subject to interference or cut outs, or a mic mounted on the camera, which could be too far away. Here, you can boom something light, like a Deity D4, and get the mic closer to them without having a separate boom person in a run and gun situation. You are the QUEEN of rigging!

    • @FellowFilmmaker
      @FellowFilmmaker  7 месяцев назад +1
