- The family of 25-year-old Jayland Walker and their counsel held a news conference Thursday to demand answers from Akron Police after Walker was shot and killed by officers Monday.

Running from cops causing a high speed chase through the city. Shooting at the Police un pursuit of you. Then after a long chase you stop not to give up. But to run and you turn around as if you're gonna shoot the cops again. What were you thinking Jaylen!? He was probably driving without a license and insurance for one and he had a loaded weapon he probably didn't have that registered neither. So when he was being stoped he knew he was going to get his car towed. Still he ran from the police. Not to mention he fired at them... That now is a Felony
Well, the original stop was going to be for a traffic violation. He then fled in his vehicle, starting a high speed chase. He then discharged a firearm from his vehicle. So yea, originally it was, but it escalated FAR beyond what it should have due to his reckless actions.

Here's the thing. The guy was not innocent. He knew what he was getting into. Any idiot would know running from the cops rarely ends well, so this guy was up to something just based on those actions. Add that to the fact he had a gun which he fired at cops, fled in a high speed chase, and took an aggressive stance to the police, and you have a guy who is not innocent as this video is trying to make him out to be. No one deserves to be killed for a traffic violation, but this guy escalated this far beyond what should have been. The consequences resulted in his death.

He then ran off while the cops had EVERY reason to believe he was still armed. They even tried to subdue him with a taser and he continued to run. Once he turned to face the officers, they had every reason to believe it was aggressive. So yes, he was killed (not murdered, there is a difference) due to his aggressive and dangerous actions. If he hadn't fired that round at officers during the chase, he would have simply been tackled to the ground.

Such a heartbreaking tragedy. My heart and prayers go out to the family. There are so many questions as to why this went this far to what was Jaylands thoughts as he fled on from this country incident . And it’s so unfortunate that we won’t be able to hear his why. Actions were taken he’s gone why’d he shoot at the cops in the first place? Also since he was unarmed when they shot him why’d he turn around bc the cops only shot him bc he shot at them from the car so when he turned around and it looks like he’s about to shoot at them they had every right to do what they did to save themselves.
