Nice - big thumbs up for the audio. If your multi meter has a continuity tester, it'd beep as the bit made contact with the work piece.

Thanks for sharing - good tips! I'd like to add some advice on workholding: Err to the side of caution when it comes to holding your workpiece. There is a LOT of vibration when cutting, and things have a tendency to come loose. It can be scary when it happens, and it's very disappointing to ruin your part in the last operation, just because it shifted on you. Adding an extra tab (also for the scrap inside a pocket) or an extra hold-down screw is worth the small effort to avoid bad surprises.

I like you last point to not be to afraid of pushing it. I was so delicate with mine at the start and funny enough a lot of what I couldn’t do with it was because I was too conservative with feeds and speeds.

You can also set your meter to continuity test so that it will start beeping when you touch the work piece. Another way of finding the workpiece is to spin up the spindle and you will hear when the bit will touch the metal.
