Years ago in 8th grade Home Ec. class our teacher taught us to put a hold in each end of a can of Condensed Milk and bake it in a low oven. When it was done, it had turned into Caramel. Delicious!
Looks delicious!!! A quick tip to toast coconut quickly and easy…. Put coconut in a dry skillet on medium-low heat, stirring frequently to desired color.
Ooo! I think you could put a small scoop of this on a vanilla wafer and then drizzle with chocolate. Oh my why do you have so many delicious recipes. I'm going to go crazy! 🤪🤤
My Mother used to make my favorite lemon ice box pie and she would always save a spoonful of condensed milk for me to eat. Even until this day, when I use condensed milk, I will always save a spoonful for myself. Thank you Mother.
I like how you use common, familiar things like filling a zip lock bag to drizzle. Your recipes are very approachable because you don’t need fancy ingredients or dodads. ❤
I still love vanilla wafers with peanut butter between them. I’ve eaten them all my life. I also love Samoa cookies, too, and I love anything with Dulce la Leche, so this sounds like a delicious treat! I love everything in it!
I couldn't find dulce lache for a recipe, so I put a can of sweetened condensed milk in a pot of water and simmered it for 7 hours making sure the can stayed completely submerged. It turned out fine.
I AM IN "AWE!!-THE SUNBEAM F.P. YOU ARE USING IS EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE I REC'D AS A WEDDING GIFT IN 1964!!!! IT IS WONDERFUL-DEPENDABLE! "THANK YOU TO SUNBEAM FOR A GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING!!! GREAT RECIPE-THANX ♡♡MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.❤❤
What a great recipe… So… the retired Spanish teacher of 30+ years wants to help you with your pronunciation of Dulce de leche… So hopefully, here goes… DOOL - seh - deh - LEH - cheh. Hope this helps, Tom! 😊
I like to toast coconut in the microwave - exact instructions are online, but the short of it is, you microwave in 30 second increments and toss well after each step until browned to your desire. I am 100% making this recipe this year. TYSM! ❤️
I made your Pecan Pie Bars this afternoon. After church my husband and I had a small lunch and then he took a nap and I made the Pecan Bars. He made a pot of coffee when he got up and had not one but two Pecan Bars. We both really loved them. I love your Recipe Book. Thank you Merry Christmas Tom and Melissa
I have started toasting coconut in a hot dry skillet. You can really control it better and no more burnt pieces. These look delicious and will try them for the holidays.
Mr. Tom, Thank you & Melissa for all your videos. I've not made these. They sure look good. Mr. Tom, you sound like youre coming down with a cold. Take care. Merry Christmas Tom & Melissa 🎄
I appreciate how you scrape everything clean or shake the crumbs out of the bottom of the bag, etc. It makes me crazy when video cooks leave the sides of the pot thick with sauce or don't scrape a dish out. Not only is it wasteful, but that's often the best part they're leaving behind.
There used to be a cookie called Yum Yums. Those were just like Samoas. They were one of my favorites! Samoas are my favorite Girl Scout cookies too, Melissa.
Thank you so much for sharing these!! I had these at a church dinner several years ago in Taylorsville NC. And wanted to know how to make them. Thanks again and God's blessings. Merry Christmas
Great treat it's simple and looks delicious I'll be making them. God truly is wonderful S I love and prayers for you always. Please keep my family in your prayers. Love Jeff from Maine
I laughed about finding your favorite cookies in the freezer. My husband loved cookies and he would finish them off in no time. So I decided to hide some in the back of a cupboard. I forgot about them and found them months later, hard as a rock. I threw them away and after that, I just let him eat as many as he wanted. 😂 These look and sound wonderful! Thanks for the recipe.
This one tickles my because I just bought last week a can of that carnel stuff. It was on clearance and I thought I can use it for something and here you post a recipe with that in it. Lol. Looks so good. 😊
Thank you for sharing ... I made your Blue Ribbon Carrots Cake! Have not cut into it yet, waiting for tomorrow for my daughter's birthday! All the best.
Hello Tom & Melissa - these look very delicious ! Thank you to the subscriber for sending the recipe❣️ Thank you Tom & Melissa for Make & videoing this recipe. These look very nice! Thank you both for sharing ! 👏❣️🌻 Merry Christmas to everyone 🎄☃️
Thank you Daline (sorry if I misspelled that...RUclips CC said 'ding' so I did the best I could 😊) I absolutely love Samoa GS Cookies (& Thin Mints) & it was very generous of you to share. And thank you Tom & Melissa for giving her a platform to share it & showing us how they're made. 💗
Tom could drink that sweetened condensed milk with a straw or eat it with a spoon (can't remember which). It always cracks me up when I watch cooking videos and the host says something about us already having all of the ingredients. I literally had none of these in my house. I usually don't have most of them, if I have any at all. I guess that's because I really don't cook or make stuff anymore. I still enjoy watching y'all go through the process, though. These look great. I love everything in them. Another great episode in the series.
Hi Tom and Melissa! My husband bought your cookbook for me and I love it! Yesterday I made the fruitcake recipe and my husband and I both loved it! Merry Christmas!!!!🎄
That's someone's bite so you have to clean it all! I never understand the cooks who measure everything then don't scrape the bowls clean. How does the recipe turn out right? Is it different everything? 😂😂😂
@@maryd9331-I've aways wondered about that too. I can't stand to watch cooking shows, where they don't scrape out the cans or bowls!(They just dump them out. Seems like such a waste of ingredients!!).
Man that looks so good! If I made these, I'd want to eat the whole pan!! I love Samoa cookies & have a hard time not buying them in the store!(I'm not supposed to eat them, as I am prediabetic & trying to keep my sugar under control.)
We eat peanut butter with our nilla wafers too this recipe sounds so good. I'm gonna have to invest in y'all's cookbook. I love dulce de leche I can eat it straight from the can. Lol. Y'all have a blessed day
This is a simple recipe and it’s so rich you probably can’t eat more than 2 so it’s a great one to add to your cookie tin to give away. God bless you and Melissa. Have a blessed week. ❤My favorite Girl Scout cookie is the old peanut butter sandwich cookie , 2nd is thin mint.
These look sooo good! And in MN we call them Caramel de Lites, I'm a proud Girl Scout alum and lifetime member 😊 full disclosure, I am also guilty of hiding boxes of cookies in the freezer too! Thanks for yet another great recipe ❤
They look great! I think I would flatten them some before freezing. They may have more surface area to pick up the chocolate on the bottom, so not too much left over in the bag used for drizzling. I gotta save this recipe as I have many others you've shared. 😊
I love sweet and condensed milk, so much. I could eat it with a spoon everyday😅 Ummmm those candies look delicious Thank you for sharing Merry Christmas ok Bye bye Nana
This looks and sounds like a wonderful recipe. This is a must try for my family. I love sweetened condensed milk so much. I could eat it by the Spoonfuls every day.
I’m with Tom I absolutely love the Girl Scout lemon cookies they are my favorites and my second favorite is the Samoas . These looks so good and they’re easier than I expected so I’ll try to make some soon . Merry Christmas to you both and your family and I hope you have a wonderful New Year ! 🎄🎅🏻💞
Unfortunately, Dulce de Leche is not as thick as the type of Caramel required in Turtles. You could heat up a can and add about 10-15 of those Caramel Squares and get the density of the caramel required
Tom, Those look so good. Bet those are delicious. My grandmother toasted her coconut in a cast iron skillet on the stove top. Just an idea for you and you don’t have to heat your oven up.
I love sweet and condensed milk so much. I could eat it with a spoon every single day. There’s what you always say.
Oh YES !
Years ago in 8th grade Home Ec. class our teacher taught us to put a hold in each end of a can of Condensed Milk and bake it in a low oven. When it was done, it had turned into Caramel. Delicious!

My husband and I love watching your videos!
We are so happy we found this channel.
God bless you, both.
I love sweetened condensed milk. I could eat it with a spoon.
You aren't the only one!
Love your videos. Great recipes.
All I can say is,( if everyone didn't know) you are one of the hardest working retirees I've ever met. Blessings
I really like the way you measure and sit the ingredients out on the counter
Ooo! I think you could put a small scoop of this on a vanilla wafer and then drizzle with chocolate. Oh my why do you have so many delicious recipes. I'm going to go crazy! 🤪🤤
I agree. That would be delicious & probably easier to eat.
Enjoying the count down till Christmas ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏😉🐾

My boys favorite GS cookie also😂
My Mother used to make my favorite lemon ice box pie and she would always save a spoonful of condensed milk for me to eat. Even until this day, when I use condensed milk, I will always save a spoonful for myself. Thank you Mother.
I'm with you brother!!! I could eat condensed milk right out of the can!!!! Amen to that! And what an awsome desert ! Can't wait to make them!
I like how you use common, familiar things like filling a zip lock bag to drizzle. Your recipes are very approachable because you don’t need fancy ingredients or dodads.

I’m certain Amazon would have it as well!

Forgot to add, & it's a waste of money too. And that's something alot of us can't afford, what with the high price of groceries these days!

Tom, I made the lasagna breakfast for Church and it was a hit. So good thank you.
Thank you Tom ! I bet the carmel would be wonderful for your Turtle recipe!😊

Tom,
Those look so good. Bet those are delicious. My grandmother toasted her coconut in a cast iron skillet on the stove top. Just an idea for you and you don’t have to heat your oven up.
Oooh yum , I must give this one a try!
Looks delicious. Thanks for sharing how to toast coconut. I am never sure when I see recipes that call for that so I usually avoid.
Wow looks great 😀 Thanks for sharing,I enjoy your channel
You can eat it with a spoon. ME TOO !!! I'm not a fan of coconut, mainly the consistency , so I would grind that up too.
Thanks for sharing with us Tom and Melissa, great recipe. Stay safe and we will catch you tomorrow. Fred.
These are one of my favorite Girl Scout cookies. Thin mints being another. I may have to try and make these Gluten Free. Thanks for this recipe!
They look delicious !!! However, I need you to send me some so I can eat them to be certain that they are as good as they look !!! 😂😂😂😂

“This works better if I plug it in.” Lol Yum! Samoas are my favorite Girl Scout cookies! This sounds good.
