Ruthann I’m don’t often comment but at the end of the video you talked about memories and you touched my heart. I came from a very abusive mother as I grew older people asked the usual what do you want to do with your life when I was about 15 I always replied I want to be a good mom. I always got looks and people just laughed my goal was to give my children great memories I’m 67 now with a house full of wonderful memories
Maxwell is the son every mom dreams of. He is sweet, gentle, tender, considerate, caring, loving, generous and appreciative. Thank you for sharing your love story.
That is not chaos :-)....that is a typical cookie making session. My house is a wreck after the cookies are all done. But oh boy....the neighbor girls who help 20 years ago still talk about Miss Vicky's cookie weekends. I sure hope the tradition has spread to their families too. My girls do the same now that they are grown.
I love that you said that you were more present with your family than filming. We appreciate these videos so much and we enjoy seeing the whole family and the cozy feeling of winter and baking ❄️☃️ Shabbat Shalom.
It was a pleasure to be included on your together day! What fun it was. Maxwell was so genuinely surprised to get cookies. What a precious boy he is and all the children. That grandbaby, Winston, is a real joy. You are all so easy to love! Thank you for this video!
Thank you, Ruth Ann. I appreciate you stating that creating memories is the most important thing on cookie baking day. Sometimes we forget that memories are created every day, both good and bad. Some we can control, others we can’t. To be intentional about making more good memories is one of the primary roles of a parent. Your family just banked a whole lot of good memories that will be drawn on for many years to come. Those will be sweeter than the delicious cookies.
Hello Zimmerman Family! Thank you for allowing and sharing your family and traditions! I love how genuine and wholesome your family is/are! I live vicariously through you and your videos! It is through your videos, your words of encouragement that has encouraged me to work on gardening, canning and cooking from scratch a way of life for me. It is because of your kindness that I share with friends and family what I have learned from you to the point that they are asking me to show them how I am canning, gardening and cooking from scratch so that they too can do the same for their family. Thank you so much! You have no idea how much you inspire me to keep going and try new recipes! I look forward to your next video! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas Ruthann. May God bless every corner of your life. You bless all of my Saturday mornings by sharing your wonderful family and your knowledge. Thank you.
The cookie making day was so special to me. My mom used "can" milk in all of her baking. We were a family of 7 children all stair step in age. My mom had her hands and days FULL. Looking back on these days I'm astonished at what and how she fed us and kept us happy. My favorite cookie was the peanut butter swirl with chocolate. I just wanted to thank you for the love you show in everything you do for home, gardening, filming and especially the love you show and give all your children. I pray for health joy and peace for your family ❤ Merry Christmas ❤
All the cookies look wonderful and a beautiful memory for your children. Can I just say the baby is adorable and standing at the fence at the end of the video was absolutely precious. God bless you Ruthanne and family.
Thank you for another beautiful glimpse into your traditions! I did not grow up with a baking mom, but my dear mother-in-law did inspire me to begin some Christmas cookie traditions...peanut butter blossoms and "buckeyes"! Yum! One of my daughters always makes the sugar cookies and gingerbread, and I've added maple candy and chocolate covered cherries. I want to do a few sugar cookies this year using some cookie cutters I received as a wedding gift over 50 years ago...just feeling a bit nostalgic. So I look forward to trying your recipe. Those Amish hats look so cute...maybe I'll also give those a go. Christmas blessings to you and yours, from your virtual friend, Marie
My mother's sugar cookies use a different method, very easy to roll out and doesn't require refrigeration. You put your dry ingredients first and cut in the butter, like pie crust. Then add vanilla eggs and milk. It's our favorite cookie!
Just found your channel! What an amazing family! I just LOVE the old fashioned, close to the heart values you all live by. Zimmerman was a fairly common name in my homeland (Switzerland). I wonder if you have roots going back there. But then I looked at all the cookies and the various recipes and did not see any that looked old world. But of course, all look very yummy. How blessed you are with so many children gracing your family.... all ages I see. LOVE the farm animals (I grew up in a children's home across the street from a farm) milk cows, chickens, bunnies, a pair of oxen who were employed to pull the hay wagon in summer, and cans of milk on a daily basis. That was back in the 1950ies!
Thank you. It was just like home and family. It made me cry and prompted me to call a cousin I have not seen or spoken with for over 60 years. I really appreciate your kindness to share your story with us. Merry Christmas 🎁
Your kitchen cleanup crew worked so hard on those beaters. It is so nice to have good help, isn't it? And I love Maxwell's dimples and bright smile. 🎄🎄Have a wonderful Christmas.
Love how your family comes together to help & enjoy. Such a great example of what family dynamics should look like. Not perfect, but happy & loving. God bless y’all!
Ruth Ann. What a lovely video. Thank-you so much for sharing. Your children are building those great memories, but you are making something else, too. They will always have all these recordings of YOU. In their old age they will be able to show their grandchildren who you were and where they came from. I wish I had tapes of my mom. There are a few silent home movies, but they are not the same as this treasure you have created. Merry Christmas!
I love seeing the boys and family making memories in the kitchen! It reminds me of when my children (3 boys 1 girl) were little. Those moments are precious and mean so much! Merry Christmas 🎄 God is good!
Love watching your videos and watching you teach your family how to do your traditional things that you used to do when you were a kid with your mom and your grandma. God bless you and your family.❤
🍪 Thank you for sharing how your family makes so many cookies to bless others with and showing how it is such an enjoyable family activity. Maxwell was surprised and thankful. What a wonderful smile he has. Your little boys stuck through to the end. How great it is to have your married daughters’ help. Memories are what we give our children.
Hi RuthAnn and sweet family! Winston is so cute and he loved grandma’s cookies. It’s wonderful to have a family day baking and decorating cookies, great memories. I hope everyone has a very blessed weekend!
Ruth Ann, I want to say thank you for the sugar cookie recipe! I have my late mother’s recipe but when I make it does not taste the same, I made your recipe today and I’m back in my mom’s kitchen. Thank you!
Christmas cookies and candy making days was one of my favorite while my children were growing up. They cherished those days and often bring it up as adults. Now one of my children does the same with he 2 year old son. Building memories for a lifetime is priceless.
ALL of your children are beautiful but i must say that young Mr Maxwell has the dimples for days!!!!! Lol. The young ladies will be lining up to get him on their dance card! Shoo them away!!!!! God is indeed good and I wish you and your beautiful family the happiest of holidays and a very merry Christmas! God bless❤
Your children are all amazing! I can see all of the values you have shared and taught them are being learned. Just as others have mentioned Maxwell’s reaction to you bringing his favorite cookies to him as he was working was such a precious moment. I know he’s not a big fan of being on camera, but I believe many years from now he’ll cherish that memory and video. Merry Christmas ❤
We don't eat sweets, but l love your channel, so I'll watch every time! You all walk with Christ and that brings me joy. God bless you all and many prayers 📿 😇 🙏🏻 ✨️ ✝️ ❤️ 📿 😇 🙏🏻 ✨️ ✝️ nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister

Just loved watching the whole process and the delightful interaction of all the kids. Little snippets, like the baby’s nap, and making a tent with blankets, just delightful. The cookies seemed secondary, although they certainly are not.
MERRY CHRISTMAS Mr. & Mrs. Zimmerman and Zimmerman family, MODS and Chat~ may you have a beautifully blessed, wonderfully warm and safe day. I pray that you are surrounded by loved ones, family and friends. May your day be overflowing with Faith, and Fellowship; Love, Joy, Peace, Hope, Mercy and Grace. May it be filled with all of God's greatest gifts and blessings, laughter, food aand fun, those wonderful smells... whatever makes your heart sing and your soul dance. We love and appreciate each of you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
My mom had this tradition with us and then with all her grandkids, they loved it!! She is no longer with us, but like you said, the memories are!! Your cookies look delicious, I can’t wait to try some of them!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to my ZIMMERMAN yt family friends whom I have never meant in person yet I feel like I have stood in their household/yard/barn many times. RuthAnn you are awesome and are the glue that holds your family together, never ever change your ways. Sincerely Sandra
Ruth Ann I’m so happy I found your channel quite awhile back! After each viewing I just sit and reminisce, smiling about my younger days when we (English Family) lived on a farm in the Amish community. We went to a one room Amish school and attended an Amish Church in the country but my fondest memories are the Huge dinners at someone’s farm after church and getting to fellowship with my friends and when you have fellowship dinners at your house that’s what I go back too in my memories 🤗!, and all those COOKIES!,😋 I Love, Love, Love your channel , the baking, gardening and even the chores! They are all the most Blessed and satisfying and peaceful way of life on this earth. So to anyone visiting this channel ‘ if you want Peace & Serenity and a Good Life just BELIEVE and get out in the country’!! Amen? AMEN!! Virginia in Arkansas 😇
Hi, Ruth - Anne, I just love that all the kids come and make all the cookies with you, but also that they get to lick the beaters, and also make huts in the lounge!!
What a wonderful day to share with family. That is awesome. Thank you for sharing that with us. I cannot believe how big Maxwell has gotten in the last year. He reminds me of my grandsons at that age. Such precious time. Thanks for sharing your recipes, etc.
Thank you for sharing this tradition. My mother and my brother have gone on to be with Jesus and I miss them so much. Mama loved baking for everyone during the holidays and we do our best to keep the traditions alive. It was a joy watching your family fellowship around the cookie table. May God continue to bless you and your family
That was the most precious video yet. My favorite is the fort playing, boys being boys. I am amazed the boys all get along and are so gentle with the baby. God is good! Merry Christmas to you and your family and many blessing for a fabulous New Year!
Traditions are the best ! Thank you so much for a glimpse into your cookie day ! Everyone will remember that mom makes the days of the celebrations in their lives better!
I LOVE those candy cane kisses! They wouldn’t make it to the cookies! It’s a good thing they aren’t available year round! lol! This takes me back to making Christmas cookies with my three kids, now grown and gone. Merry Christmas! Georgia
This was so peaceful to watch and has given me inspiration for a new tradition to start with my children. And it was so good to see Maxwell learning to work hard with his Daddy in the shop! I was wondering where he was while watching the others decorating the cookies 🍪 ☺️ thank you for another great start to my Saturday morning.
Such a precious video! Thanks for sharing! I have been inspired to do some cookie decorating with my 3 children, their spouses, and my 5 grandchildren. 😊 Your little grandson is so adorable!
Good morning! Cookies my favorite!! I can’t wait to get started on mine. Bless you for sharing your wonderful family and animals. Have a great week ❤❤🙏
Love these vids with recipes! A tip I do when making the peanut butter kisses is to freeze the chocolate candies overnight so they don’t melt when placed on top of the hot cookie! 🎄
What a simply beautiful video! Those memories are the best of all, I know I cherish mine especially now that momma left us this year and every time I bake or cook one of her recipes my heart smiles with such gratefulness. As always thank you for sharing your knowledge, your time, family and such wonderful recipes. Blessings to you all 🍪❤🎄
I loved watching this video. Thank you for letting us join your cookie baking day. Winston is so cute. His aunts and uncles are so sweet with him. He's obviously so loved. It's wonderful to see how loved your children are to be able to share so much with him. Your family is so beautiful. Have a very blessed Christmas!
I brought up my kids with the same tradition. We have kept it up, and I am now baking them with my GREAT grandchildren. We all love our cookie baking time.
Great tips I have learned, use the rolling pin to pound cold dough to loosen up slightly. Place all the cookie cutters you have right next to each other on to the rolled out dough. First rolling of dough is always more tender than the second. Then just repeat to the next section with cutters. Your dough will stay colder as well easier to handle. Also if your dough gets warm and you have the room put a flat cookie sheet in freezer use it to chill rolled dough that has warmed or to just have for you next batch.. I roll onto parchment then slide it onto frozen cookie sheet pop back in freezer. Fun fun🎉
And what precious memories and lessons this blog will be for Winston and future grandchildren of how you participated before they were able to be hands in the dough ❤
What a beautiful day you had! My husband and I make multiple batches of caramels each Christmas and deliver to our friends and family. Our Amish friends are always very excited to get the caramels and in return they each give us a plate of "treats" of cookies and candies and some fresh fruit. We end up with more than enough to get through the holidays! I am excited to have some new cookie recipes to add to my collection. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

They all have….
I loved how happy he looked!!! So cute!
I thought the same thing. What a sweet young man.
Kendrick said “ this is always my favorite day”! So cute.
He has lost the little boy look, growing into a young man.

Maxwell - he was so cute - and that baby with the cow at the end, diving at a cookie after he tasted it - Yes memories for a lifetime ....
Oh boy, your grandson is DEF one of your clan! So cute! Nothing better than a happy chubby baby! God bless 😊
I don’t see chaos, I see beautiful memories and so much love ❤️
I loved seeing the blanket forts! Reminded me of my own children - the youngest turns 43 tomorrow!
My children - now 54, 52 and 49 - spent many hours building these “forts”. I’m so glad to see kids still doing that. ❤
My mother's sugar cookies use a different method, very easy to roll out and doesn't require refrigeration. You put your dry ingredients first and cut in the butter, like pie crust. Then add vanilla eggs and milk. It's our favorite cookie!

That hat the baby was wearing at the end was the most adorable thing I've seen in ages❤
I loved seeing your two little boys licking the beaters and the one boy says “this is always my favorite day.” He will always love these memories.💕
My dad loved licking beaters of anything!!! One of his fav memories and mine of him. They always came back super clean, and any bowl they were with.
What a sweet child Maxwell is ❤ Not playing favorites, all the children are lovely ❣️
Living your Faith and sharing it with us plants a lot of spiritual seeds. May y’all be blessed as you are a blessing.
Oh, my! Boys! I've had many of those forts built in my house over the years! I can see why it is Kendrick's favorite day. ❤

That final shot of baby Winston is precious. Merry Christmas Zimmermans. 🎄
Your children have another great memory to look back on. Everything looked wonderful and absolutely delicious. This was a great video.
I so loved seeing all your children help out with the Christmas cookies. Such precious memories ❤🎄
The perfect kind of chaos. I love it when all of my kids and grandkids are home.
Fun fun🎉
Watching your family brings back so many great memories of my growing up. Thank you.
What a wonderful video such a sweet memory for all your family everyone should do this 🙏
Winston is so cute! He favors his grandma a lot.
