Thanks for making these videos. I'm 35, have a child, and don't feel like buying something fast like a 450 so I don't kill myself... Bikes like these are what I'm looking into and knowing they can be made rideable for my 200 pounds is useful
Hey Gabe! Great job as always. I went with the Race Brothers shock for my 230, it’s a clone of the Fox podium, but pricey. I wasn’t aware of the Vonkat, wish I had known sooner! I’ll be posting a video on the RB shock installation and testing soon.
Nothing special. 96-04 xr250r forks. They're so easy to tune to perfection with this cartridge conversion: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/race-tech-type-3-gold-valve-compression-kit-p?v=616?ref=1046&
What ever happened to your original 230 review video That was a great video too But man I’m glad to see you still love the 230 They are just too much fun
Curious if you considered the Tuscany racing shock with the remote reservoir or if anyone else is able to compare the two. Believe they work out to roughly the same price.
Like my WR250r shock was beat had it rebuilt by Ccycle suspension here in Ct Bill is awesome $280.00 unbelievable difference guys a genius when I comes to suspension
Beta? KTM? Sherco? Nahhh I’ll probably get a crf230 for my next bike. Seriously that seems like a ton of fun. I’ve always though that motor with some proper suspension would be a blast.
Haha do it man. The short wheelbase is the most playful thing ever. You'll be on one wheel everywhere all the time. Probably even keep it parked on one wheel. Heck, just remove one wheel.

Oops, totally forgot to put the page up. Just put the page up now. Thanks for the reminder. This isn't that same CRF230F, this is a different one. I parted out the other one.
This wasn't planned, but after a while of using this shock, I started selling them on my website here: torturetestmagazine.com/products/vonkat-el-jefe-for-honda-crf230f-and-crf150f Purchasing on my website instead of elsewhere supports the channel!
Also curious on the full race vid if it's coming but honestly man it's excellent any time you upload, always waiting for another TTM video to pop out :)
In your experience and opinion what would you recommend for a trail bike for a 145 lb 5'11" rider? I am looking at a crf230f, a crf250x, a ttr 223/230 and a wr250f. I don't need the fastest thing around as most of the time I will be riding with my daughter's on their ttr 90 and 125L, so best bang for the buck and high reliability are my goals.
@@jeremymann8930 lack of a Kickstarter is a non issue seriously. I've owned 4 of these bikes over the years, built them up and sold them. There's batteries on eBay for $22 free shipping (mighty max) and the very minute I see a battery going bad I chunk it for a new one. These are AGM batteries and a battery tender will keep it ready for a really long time.
@50ccause good to know, I like to have it just in case but if they are that good I may be more inclined since its a simpler bike without the cooling system
@@50ccause I find that buying an expensive battery and wiring up a battery tender so I just plug it into some wires coming from the bike every time it's in the shed works really well. My bike has a weak charging system which is why I do that. It does have a backup kick-start tho
You are incredible Man ! There must have been 50 gallon drums full of KTM tears after this !

Better of with a 250. These bikes are quite small.
The Honda 250F is a great bike for following kids around.
The money that you will throw into the suspension on a 230f to support you would be better off spent on a better bike. Suspension is $$$$
@@panic-revv85 thanks
Look into GPX FSE250
Love the videos man, would love to see a full race video, you are totally the best dirtbike youtuber out there😉😉

Thanks for the content :)
Hey Vonkat, make one for the XR650L!
Well done dude! Making that humble 230 look more powerful that it is!
Happy trails
Slo mo looks dope, great review
Those slow mo shots through the rocks!
Nice riding Tex 😁👌
Awesome slo mo footage. That shock looks great! Thanks for the video
Keep up the good work bro..
Did you do anything to the front suspension? Thicker oil? Spacers for more preload?

Oh you know just changed out the entire front end of the bike. No biggie. 😂
@@TortureTestMagazine do those xr250r forks mount right up? Do you need the triple clamps?

Hello. I would like to know what work you did on the front suspension after installing the Vonkat El Jefe rear shock. Thanks in advance.
This CRF 230f is the same that the brazilian one?
Man, those slo-mo shots are pure poetry!!
Just wondering what exhaust system you are using? Thanks! Great video by the way.
I wish this was available in '82 when I had a XR200R.
Great video, just wondering have you rode the new CRF250F?
Will we get a video about the 24-hour race like the dr200 video or is it still in the works?

We gotta know what's "under the hood" in those forks man!

Love my 07 crf 230. Ppl can have all thier high maintenance race bikes.
Would this work on a 250L or is it a different setup?
It's clear being comfortable within yourself and a boat load of humility that giants can be taken down
How tall are you? You seem to fit that frame nicely.
Is a modified crf230 a decent step up in power from a modified dr200?
No more EO Outlaw exhaust? If you don't mind me asking, what gearing are you running? There's no build list for this bike on your website.

Let's see the race bro
Love to see a hard enduro race, curious to see how far you could push a beater bike, plus plenty of KTM tears to be had!

TTM podiums again! On a 230! - Nice! 🏅
Just watch the back wheel in slow motion, it does every thing right

I'd get an air cooled or more trail oriented bike than a crf250x or wr250f, the crf230, ttr230 or any similar old school thumper would be great
@Joey Courtice that's what I was thinking, my only concern is the lack of a Kickstart
