2:17-2:26 I like how even as The Violator is taunting him, Spawn just lets his insults wash over him. He's completely trapped in his own moment of agony and can't see or process anything else. Great acting choice by Michael Jai White.
When this movie came out, I had never heard of Spawn. Never seen anything, but the two people that MADE this movie was Michael Jai White as Spawn and John Leguizamo as Violator. I loved Michaels voice and serious tone, while also somewhat sarcastic and "man given extreme power" quips. John's acting as Violator made the movie so much better. John made Violator sound so incredibly sadistic, nasty, and flat out evil it was perfect. The perfect symbolism of corrupting evil and "violation". A clown that supposed to make people laugh and bring joy, brings terror and pain. The part where he's stalking Simmon's daughter in the cheerleader outfit saying "I wonder if she has it in my size." The maggots on the pizza here, the women after he talks to Jason Wynn saying "you ever been to a clown's pig pen?" Both NAILED their roles in this movie.
Nicol Williamson does underrated work too. I love how empathetic and warm his portrayal of Cogliostro was, you can tell he totally understands Spawn's pain and I can totally feel the connection and chemistry he has with Simmons as a former Hellspawn who's had to suffer his same trials and tribulations.
Such an Underrated movie. I read some of the comics as a 90s kid. If they reboot it or continue the story please make it right and bring back Michael’s Jai and John Luigizamo 💯
All that make up, all that cgi.. and they put a 99 cent store clown cap on the guy.. looks like he glued hair to bottom of a bowl and put on his head.. no 90s or budget excuse..that's terrible
That was the point. His "disguise" was supposed to look like cobbled together mess. Violator didn't give a crap if it looked convincing or nice, he just wanted the Apocalypse to start already. He was sick of hiding and being patient, he wanted to kill Angels and burn the Heavens NOW.
"Arise, your Crispness."
"Arise, Duke of Deep Fried."
😂😂😂😂😂

Never forget kids, when you piss off the director you get put in a maggot eating scene.
That's disgusting

They won’t.
I'd be down for a legacy sequel. If Twister can get one, why not Spawn?
"For limited time only"
"john leguizamo" was so 🔥 good, like " Danny Davito " was penguin in " Batman"
Your so right!
I feel his role in this movie was underrated I found him hilarious at times
0:16 Disturbing transformation
Ya it was
2:38 even more disturbing
Even this movie limited a lot Michael's skills... it's a masterpiece. They should've made a trilogy!! (At least)
This and soul caliber 2 were my introduction to spawn
My introduction to Spawn was the action figure commercial.
Spawn should need members like Robocop, Darkman and Eric Draven with The Crow
This costume looks like Agent Venom
