This is the newly redesigned Lexus IS for 2021. In particular the IS 350 F-Sport Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) which is a very comfortable sedan that looks great and can be sporty at times! This is my 3rd day with the car so I wanted to share what it's like to drive in Sport S+ mode, try to spin the tires with traction control off from a red light. Talking about the steering, braking, and interior! Let me know what you'd like to see in the final review. Авто/Мото
My full updated review: ruclips.net/video/m5HncpUL1RY/видео.html thanks for watching!
No need to upgrade a flawless powertrain. It's tried and true, reliable as a rock, and has PLENTY of power for this car. I hate how car reviewers always complain about this. As opposed to its German rivals, this Lexus will still be on the road trouble free 15 years down the line without a single issue.
I have an 01 GS300. 200k miles and still no major issues with it after 20 years
Agreed, my BMW M and VW 2.0Tsi constantly breaking down. Whereas my Mazda and Honda totally trouble free. IS is a car that definitely worth buying as it has the sporty chassis + reliability
@@GrandSavrify I have an ISF and an IS350. Both with 100k miles. ZERO issues. I just changed the front pads and rotors on the is350. That's it!
@@sdlausen1 IS350 and ISF is a very rare thing in my country, as roadtax cost around 3k USD annually. I wish we have more of these 🥲
@@GrandSavrify Why would an ISF cost more than a BMW M?
IS350 is literally, the last luxury D-segment sedan with pure NA V6. Every single rivals are now only available either turbo or hybrid. Think about it, NA V6, which was common sight even in the early 2010’s, A4 still had 3.2 V6, C-Class was using 3.5 V6, TL, G37, etc and now in 2021 this car is the last one in the segment. When Lexus stops selling current gen IS, NA V6 will die along with it.
just found this review in search for 2022 IS350 AWD performance and tuning potential. This is one of the best POV tests I've seen. No BS. The car is really nice
Thank you! Did the same with the IS500 :)
Lexus played it safe and it paid off.
The IS & the GS are among my favorite cars on the planet.
Love the IS models. Amazing cars.
Thank you for watching Joe! Did you watch my full review film of this car?
Nice one. I pray we all become successful and afford any type of car we wish to buy. 🙏
@@northfinance7680 Life situations will seem to be painful and draining most times, but throwing in the towel so easily is never the mindset of any successful champion.

@@thenavigator8052 But it is different in my own case, because frustration has been the other of the day for me, I kept trying my best every morning to make good money for myself. Seem really impossible for me at all point, sometimes i keep asking myself if some are destined to be rich and others to be poor?. I just feel like taking my life.☹️😰
looks insane... the most beautiful Lexus ever
Thanks for watching!
DA CAR IS A REAL BEAUTY
Lexus is king of luxury, reliability, and quality. I'm the 2nd owner of a 2002 ES300 with 182k miles and it's quiet like a vault and solid like a tank. Nothing is broken, every button/switch still works. Rides like its 3 years old let alone 22 years. When i retire in 4 years, ill be getting this similarly equipped IS350 RWD FSport. Def. want the RWD version with the handling package (limited slip diff., etc.)
absolutely splendid
Thank you for watching. I hope you enjoy the longer form review video as well
decrescendo is the word
Great video !
Thank you David! I really hope you watch my full review, I take great pride in it! ruclips.net/video/m5HncpUL1RY/видео.html
2:10 is what you came for.
Not stupid fast, but definitely more than fast enough for street use. Nice V6 induction noise, instant throttle response and you know that the V6 is going to outlive the turbo 4 cylinder competition.
And sounds great!
Sound similar to LFA. But not LFA hihi
Love the sound
IS500 will sound even better!
I enjoyed this. You did great man.👍🏿

I have is250 2011 f sport. Im so happy from the car. Drives nicely, got enough power. I love it
Can't wait getting mine today
Huge congrats! It's been 6 hours since you commented, did you get it yet! What color Steve?
@@shouldigetit yes and i luv it its in atomic silver red interior
@@everydaygrower2720 that's awesome, very excited for you!
The red interior looked better in the previous IS, the red plastic on the lower half of the door and the glovebox I feel like is overkill. Would look better with black in those spots
Agreed. The red is nice, but they really overdid it.
That's a good point Lukas. Black speaker grills would have been a nice touch. Hope you like the final review that's coming out on Tuesday I am super excited about it!
Wrong
We just saw the black with red interior at the dealership. It looked really bad. I had a black Rx with red Interior and it was beautiful. Lexus should’ve made it a bit dark and add some black in the red seats like the RX and def leave dash black!
Sweet!!!💯
Thanks for watching Mr Majik!!
The M340i is $10k more. They’re not in the same class. So many car enthusiasts fail to understand the Lexus line up. I’ve come to think that they deliberately make no effort to understand Lexus. That’s like saying an Audi A4 45TFSI S-line would get walked by an m340i… Of course. F sport to Lexus is like s-line to Audi, it’s mostly an appearance package. ( Similar to how Audi has the 40 and 45 TFSI engine options Lexus offers a 4cyl or v6). F performance (is500 is an f performance car) is like Audi’s S and F from Lexus is like RS from Audi. Currently Lexus does not have a full blown F car to compete with a proper M or RS. The prices of Lexus also reflect the fact I stated above. An is500 and M340i are $3k apart - That would be a more logical comparison
I do also have a video on the IS500. In terms of pricing the leases between an M340i and IS350 F-Sport were definitely comparable when I filmed this video as BMW was pumping residuals up to make lease payments smaller.
-Ben
That crack at 1:22😭😂
Glad we can laugh together about that! Thanks for watching :)
-Ben
test drove a 350, not as sporty as 330 but it felt soooo much nicer, hoping to pick one up in next few months
Did you get the Lexus?
the handling is much better on the is350, honestly the biggest gripe is that the gearing is too soft for economy, if you put the 4.08 differential its definitely more "sporty" than the 330i, my brother has a tuned 330i, driven it a few times its a fun car but I chose the is350 for a reason
nah 350 f sport faster u just gotta know how to drive it to open everything up
Nice sedan
I agree!
Definitely looks very nice
I agree! Thanks for watching
-Ben
At 2:14 you started on second gear, it won’t do a burnout
Idk why everyone gets crazy about shifts time if you so tight buy a Ferrari or Porsche but this is a Lexus and the shifts time are pretty fast for entire level sports sedan
Watch my review of the IS500
-Ben
I've always liked these cars but I just wished they had a more responsive transmission. Something similar to the ZF 8 Speed that BMW is using. Instantaneous shifts would be nice and make me forget about their infotainment system lol.
Let’s just thank god they haven’t started putting cvt transmissions in it like every other manufacturer lol
@@ehh2681 Totally agree! Makes me sad that Subaru went with CVTs on their auto WRXs. They would have had something really nice if it was a DCT.
have you tried the 8 speed transmission? or only the 6 speed? cus the 8 speed on these cars is amazing
Loved the review. Would you be able to fit a baby seat in the back ?
Thanks! How tall are you or your passenger? If under 6 foot I believe you could just fine
@@shouldigetit he said a baby not a basketball player
Still not sure if I want to update my 15 is350 to this or wait for that new G70 to come to the US. Leaning more towards the G70 for now
What’s pushing you more toward the G70? I’m excited to drive one
I still love my 15 is350 fsport. I wasn't super impressed with the change.
@@ivansgreatadventures9542 Very nice car! Yes hopefully they'll do a full redesign rather than a refresh within the next 2-3 years.
G70 for sure. I love Lexus/Toyo, but the new G70 is a much smarter purchase.
Good commuter
Without a doubt. Did you watch my full review Don?
is this Iridium Silver or Atomic Silver?
PDK that is available from one of the “competing cars?” What Porsche competes with the IS350?
None. But several VWs have DSG which is comparable to PDK.
@@shouldigetit - Comparable? Sure. They both are dual-clutch trans, and that's where the similarities end. PDK is vastly different and superior to any DSG
@@IPGAuto take it back 😖😭 lol in all seriousness my dsg transmission in my s4 feels like its falling apart every time i drive the car. Never driven a pdk car so i cant give my opinion on comparison
Can you do an experiment? It would be cool if you could see if it bounces off the rev limiter in neutral or when you have the stability and traction control all the way off. It shouldn’t auto up shift if you shut that stuff off.
How come?
I know what you mean. I have done this in an RC350 F Sport. In “Sport +” mode and manual shifting, it will bounce off the rev limiter and even stall if you do not change gears.
you can bounce off the limiter, you have to disable tc
@@mikey.4is thanks yeah I own one now for over 2 years. Have to disable ESC
Great review, but is it just my computer, or is the aspect ratio stretched?
Thank you! The aspect ratio might look strange because this was filmed on a GoPro Hero 8 in Superview lens mode. The full review is coming on Tuesday at 10am PST with much better aspect ratios and filming :) Hope you like that one!
@@shouldigetit Sounds good! Looking forwad to it. Just subbed as well!

Wide angle lens is used here.
Considering trading in my 2014 audi s4 for one of these. (The interior reminds me immensely of the lfa which is the biggest plus for me)
Thanks for watching! I can tell you know the driving experience will not feel close to the S4, have more thoughts about that in my full review video
-Ben
You should, more reliable too 👍🏼👌🏼
Love my IS. I traded a 2012 S4for a 18 IS and like it so much I'm considering upgrading the 21. Not quite as fast in a straight line, but I like how it corners better, the NA sound(I have the Lexus performance exhaust) and is just as smooth and comfortable as you'd think a Lexus should be the 90% of the time I'm just driving in traffic. MY valve springs blew the F%^# up at 44K on the S4 so I wanted out of the car ASAP.
That cabin looks so cozy 😭 i have 2009 is250 awd
Especially with the heated steering wheel and heated seats on it is SUPER cozy. Did you check out my review video I just posted?
Great video! Was wondering why the steering wheel shifted slightly after you turned it on?
Thank you Air! At which moment are you referring?
@@shouldigetit Your welcome! It was right at 54 seconds. Was wondering if all Lexus cars just straighten the wheel like that. I have an 07 maxima that goes up and in when I turn off the car and comes down to my driving position when I start the car.
@@airuzair2424 if you set memory settings in certain Lexus’ to “full exit”, then upon unbuckling your seat belt and turning off the engine, the steering wheel will retract and the seat will move back. When you return and buckle in or start the engine, the steering wheel will come towards you while the seat moves you into position (based on your memory settings).
Sometimes, the dealership has to unlock some things before you can use them.
@@odugs thanks for letting me know appreciate it!
Did you hold down the traction control all the way to completely turn it off? Just making sure
Yes I did. Talked about that here ruclips.net/video/m5HncpUL1RY/видео.html
How would you compare this to an M340i with the 6 cylinders?
The M340i is more of a performance car. The new IS500 is slotted to go against that
Classic Lexus not updating things for 15 years. This engine is from 15 years ago. This car needs the twin turbo v6 setup from the LS 500, gives it 416 horsepower.
Oh how I wish how I wish it would happen !
@@shouldigetit I know right?
nah bro this engine is from 2015. it’s a 2gr-fks.
Ill take this..anyday
Marcus I wish I could give it to you tomorrow!
I had a 2007 IS350. It was fast but the ride was harsh...
the F Sport package adds adaptive dampers, think those help in the newer gens
Does the 350 f sport come with awd or only rwd?
Great question. The 350 F Sport can be had in AWD or RWD. Check it out www.lexus.com/build-your-lexus/#!/series/IS
Easy on the shift gear bro...besides that car is gorgeous
What do you mean easy on it?
Should I Get It Reviews this might be a silly question. But can you do a tutorial on shifting with paddle shifters? Just bought my first car and want to learn how to use it correctly. Thanks man

Ive never owned a Lexus before at the moment im looking for a new car and ive been looking around and for the price that steering wheel looks kinda dated compared to Acura and even Hyundai.

Hey man, Can you put the 89octane fuel in the car? In my country we ain't got premium fuel.
That will fuck your engine up. Just buy octane boosters
That will ruin the pistons
@@jedilink1907 how often do i need to buy octane boosters? Never heard of it before.
@@jeffoh3697
You are wrong. It's not the exact same engine.
The IS has the high-performance variant. It is shared only with the RC and the GS.
Then you have the normal variant which is shared between the ES and the RX.
The high-performance variant requires premium fuel.
@@urdarkside1
If you're thinking of getting one, just stick to 91 Octane. You will get worse fuel economy with lower grades even if you use boosters.

Such a shame that we can't get this model in Europe 😔
It truly is. Which country are you in?
@@shouldigetit Austria. We had the IS up until this model. Seem they have a tough time here. The austrians just like Station Wagon and especially SUVs. UX, NX, RX are their best selling models here. Even the CT had no chance here.
It's really sad cause they are great reliable cars and they are beautiful.
Unfortunately that whine you hear and most of the engine sound is amplified through speakers by ASC. Wish the car was as fast as it sounds..the V6 in the IS350 is still sluggish because their is so much engine displacement and the car can actually beat by some 4-cyl engines out there. Traded in my 2018 for an m340i, never been happier😅
Thanks for watching Adam! It's not through the speakers but a system like this: ruclips.net/video/5kz9DWz2BuU/видео.html either way I'm curious to hear how the M340i compares! My take is that the IS350 F-Sport is a comfortable sedan that can be sporty, but the M340i is a sporty sedan that can be comfortable.
that is not true at all, lexus does not do the fake engine sound on the is. the real intake sound is piped in through the firewall, not via speakers. I prefer the 2gr all day over any 4 cylinder crap lol

The previous generation was better looking imo
The previous model was definitely sweet looking. This current is fire too. But on another note you can get the previous model for much cheaper now
Why should I get this over a Stinger GT?
Yeah stinger is nice also the genesis
@ bryan s the IS350 compared to the Stinger, I would defiantly go with the Stinger, only because the IS350 is not as spacious compared to the Stinger. I ended up buying the 2019 Lexus ES350 F Sport over the Kia Stinger. I think it boils down to personal preference. The stinger drives aggressively when desired, but the comfort for me was not the greatest. The ES350 F Sport however isn’t as aggressive like the Stinger, but the comfort, classy interior design and attention to detail is what stole my heart.
For me personally, slightly over 300 HP and 267 Torque is enough for me. Could a little more be better, sure but defiantly not a deal breaker. I test drove both cars a week prior to making my decision and the only thing I could say about the stinger was it’s quick, compared to the ES350 F Sport, it surely was quicker than expected, classy, elegant, comfortable and a fun driving experience. But hey, it’s your money right.. good luck whichever choice you decide
@@all4christnofilter915 Nice car, I actually was looking at that es 350 f sport but unfortunately at the time my car got totalled back in early 2018 so I had to get something immediately & this car was not out yet.
@@all4christnofilter915 thanks for the reply. I have also been considering the ES as would like a little more space but here in Australia only 300h is offered. Stinger power is nice but can't beat the Lexus for quality fit and finish and reliability
