It’s a sharp looking car, but that’s it. If you enjoy driving and want the best driving car with a better updated interior and modern transmission, this isn’t the car. I love how they look, but everything else just falls short with pretty much everything else in the segment. It’s a shame too. If this car had a ZF8 with a turbo and least 380hp, I could forgive the ugly dated interior and buy one.
I’ve been a Lexus owner since 2014 and never looked back. Ive owned benz and bmw before and they do not come close in reliability to the Lexus. I have the 2020 IS and it is amazing. I love it. Im thinking about upgrading to the RC 350 f sport sonic chrome with black finish 😍
I've purchased used BNW's in the past and none every gave me mechanical problems and BME driving dynamics is superior to Lexus. Enough with the cliche crap you hear on the internet.
It looks super aggressive but it does not actually drive aggressive which is the problem. Lexus isn’t making cars quick/fast enough nor luxurious enough to bring the brand to the next level. Lexus competes more with other Japanese cars like Infiniti and Acura not German ones tho. Most people don’t keep there cars for more then 4-5 years anyways so reliability’s only one important aspect that is important to a minority of people not majority of people.

The engine and transmission is already a proven platform. As the reviewer stated there are already used Lexus IS models with over 200,000+ mileage for sale which shows the reliability. So we can absolutely make the generalization that this Lexus will be reliable.
The AWD version has a 6-speed auto, not 8-speed auto. And BBS is *not* a new wheel manufacturer. They got their start in the early 1970's. Also, of course the rear view camera is standard. It's been mandatory on all vehicles sold in the U.S. since 2018.
They decided to keep this car on the road . And I’m glad. I love anything Lexus . (Battle damaged Cadi for 35 years) I just wish They have done a total refresh to this interior . I was interested in this car. But I’m knew the Gs was being terminated and yes some said it was outdated. They let it die and I made sure I found the GS F sport Blackline . None in NY but I found one in Virginia. So I have the newest nicest outdated Lexus on the road .
I played with the paddles when I just got the car, but nowadays I just leave it in auto, (and change drive modes instead). The shift logic is pretty good.
The RWD is vastly better than the AWD. It had a much better 8 speed transmission. The only thing I hate about mine is the absurd chrome around the windows. It should be the same color as the wheels.
Is the handling package only for awd do you know by any chance? And I agree with the chrome lol gloss black would look way better, and I've been looking at this car, but I wasn't sure if I should get it awd or rwd

A correction for you: the 8 speed trans is only available on the rear wheel drive model. The all wheel drive models only get the 6 speed which is kind of a bummer. Overall great car tho.
Bought my 2018 350 F in RWD for the faster 8spd transmission and also for Torsen LSD becoming standard option for RWD starting in ‘18 back then. I’ll be waiting for the IS 500 😎

There is no way a 3rd gen IS hits 0-60mph in 5.0 seconds especially with AWD. 2nd gens are much faster due to the gearing ratio and they hit between 4.6-5.2 seconds
Both are great choices. It comes down to power delivery, I have a Stinger GT1. Do you want V6TT or V6? I think the 2022 G70 is a great looking car but I plan to get the IS.
ISF, GSF, LC500, and the upcoming IS500 LSD with a v8. Powertrain will last half a million with basic maintenance. It's unique the NA v8 builds power instead of bursting low down and sitting flat on top. It's almost like a gradually realized orgasm. It will also beat most turbo competitors from roll simply due to displacement. More HP than the new M3. So no it's not boring.
@@xFlared the new Is 500 does seem much more interesting and if the V8 is anything like the IS F’s of old, I think the orgasm you speak of it’ll be a much more exciting car than the 350 F. I’ve gotten to spend some time in the 350 F, my girlfriend owned one. And it’s just not a very good exciting car at all. The engine, gearbox and technology are outdated, and it’s just not sporty. But of course it’s very reliable. But Zzzzz. Just my experience and my take, if I was in the market for a sports car I would at least get one that felt sporty. End of the day the F Sport is just a trim level and doesn’t make the character any more sporty than the looks.

Refresh or not. The design is elegant, sporty, timeless, and futuristic. Look at 2004 acura tl. The design is still better than most newer hondas or toyota.

Just vinyl wrap it lol it’s a lot cheaper. The is500 have the black chrome pieces but I can only imagine what it would cost to purchase those

As long as you change out the tires should be fine... IS500 will use summer tires tho which may crack in freezing temps
