It is so surreal. I am 56 and female. I was a very hyperactive ADHD child in a private school wearing Uniforms but I remember when I discovered KISS. A friend of our family had the KISS (the first album cover) TSHIRT and I was probably... 6 or 7 ? maybe? and I went up to him and said "who are those girls?" LOL. and then I saw them play on Paul Lynn's Halloween Special and I remmber getting the DESTROYER album withmy mum and the rest was history. My mum did me up as Peter Chriss one Halloween. I never fit in at school.. I barely had friends and always imagined that KISS would just come to my school and just take me away from that hellhole... LOL.

Ace is just a pure R&R legend. I am not one to crap on Tommy, he's earned his place, but Ace had this inimitable stage presence that can't be duplicated.

Out of the 4 autobiographies, his one is the best followed Peter Criss. I gave up on Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley blames everyone but himself. Paul, kinda hinted he hired inferior members because he didn't want to be better than him. He said that Mark St John couldn't play the thing twice but still hired him.
I have always been an Ace Frehley fan and I like him now he admits his faults and can laugh 😂 about it and he sees Gene and Paul for what they are which is businessmen and he is a musician that’s still putting out music and if we can believe Gene and Paul they are finally quitting! Tommy and Eric should have had to come up with their own characters instead of using Space Ace and The Catman!
For Ace it was always more about playing rock music and living the rock lifestyle, not running a corporate business. He could as easily have been a Ramone as a member of Kiss. But he has sobered up and made a go of having a solid solo career.
"I'd have been pissed if it was me, but I know how to speak...even though I'm from the Bronx! Peter was just loaded as me, so he probably didn't even know." - Classic Ace.
It's hard to believe that the original KISS lasted as long as they did with two ultra serious straight laced businessmen and two hard core party animals.
Not businessmen, businessman. Gene wanted to control everything and Paul went along with whatever Gene wanted. Ace was just a rock star acting like a rock star, and Gene didn’t like it.
I love the story that Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson tell about how much they loved to make Ace laugh. Alex would dress up as "The Bag" and Ace would laugh uncontrollably.

Even in the 70's he was having fun in the interviews. Gene and Paul look pissed off at him, which makes it more funny to watch. It's like he saw KISS as a band not a business brand it became.
There was just one rock and roller in Kiss. Paul and Gene are businessmen & showmen. Peter was a closeted doo-wopper / balladeer. Ace was (and is) true rock and roll. He was the secret weapon that made the first seven studio albums THE enduring classics. Very cool that he survived his wild days with liver and laughter intact.
I still have the VHS of this movie that I bought in Sam Goody back in the 80's. I also have it on DVD. Is is absolutely a cult classic and I remember watching it on TV.

Very underrated player and I remember him being the favorite member among the older teenage rock n rollers back in the 70s. Ace sorta embodies the fun/campy and lighthearted side of the band, yet had musicianship and great guitar licks.
I remember being a part of the KISS Army as a kid and watching this movie, glued to the TV in total awe. The next day at school every boy in my class was talking about KISS.
Another cool thing about ACE was the camera loved him. I don't think there is a bad shot of ACE. He looks great in every picture I've seen. He has a ton of money shots! ⚡️😎

Yea. It was great to watch this. Basically. Because I had the "KISS" "ARMY" patch on a Levi jacket, wearing it I remember while watching this movie was absolutely mind blowing.
