Firstly, that shy grin at 1:53, adorable. Secondly, with the Hagraves being found at so many different temples for different Daedric God's, could they potentially just worship multiple ones? So got their appearance from Hircine, their blood lust from Namira, and ritual stuff from Peryite. They each get beings to do their bidding and expand their power base. Harpies and hagravens are probably the same type of creature, as they both have the same origin, and become the same type of creature, though harpies seem to be a full transformation where hagravens are a partial transformation. It's either a long process from witch to harpie, or it depends on how much the deity that's responsible for it favors you, or maybe even the ritual itself has something to do with it. You can tell they're the same by the body, as they're still humanoid, except the feet and wings. Except hagravens don't have wings, though they are growing feathers, which implies an incomplete transformation. What makes me think it's down to ritual or the deity's favor of the individual is the fact that hagravens are a hag, which is typically an ugly old witch, and they're always a hag even if they come from a non-hag witch as far as we know. Harpies, though I'm not sure how true this is for TES, are typically not hags, and have a subclass of harpy hag in other properties, which we can assume TES follows similarly in that harpies are not necessarily hags; also from the first clip of the harpies, the trapped ones struggling, those do not look like hags at all. It could also just be a timely process, as we haven't seen the actual transformation. For all we know, hagravens might exist only because the transformation was started from an older witch. Maybe the younger harpies we see started the transformation as a child, and that is why they speak in their own tongue, a tongue that hagravens also seem to know. I would expect the physical transformation would be a thing that happens over time, where the body's structure grows to be that of a harpy/hagraven, and why we see hagravens growing feathers while harpies have wings. This would also explain the theory of a child raven growing to be a harpy, as the child needs to grow anyways, the process is quickened, whereas a hag going through this process is already a grown person and the process would take longer to complete; this could also snowball into why the older witches becoming ravens are hags, as they're older, the process is timely, and the process probably has a huge impact on the body, causing them to turn into hags, which are old, ugly witches. It could also be a combination of both, and the single model of hagraven and single model we see of harpy in TESV and TESO are just one variation of many. I would imagine that each individual is just as unique as their model would be as a typical race-based character. I would also imaging, if it is a process, we'd see multiple steps of that process; similarly for if it's down to the ritual or the deity's favor, we'd see varying levels of success and failure of transformation. I would also assume man, mer, and any other species could also become a raven, as harpies/hagravens are literally mammalian humanoids becoming a mammalian-ave hybrid hybrid; this would also separate harpies and ravens from a true ave humanoid species.
Actually the first thing I thought when I first encountered a Hagraven on Orphan’s Rock had something to do with that explosive fireball of death that was suddenly hurled at me and blew up in my face. In my first playthrough, I died a few times trying to get through such damaging power
Glad to see you’re getting some sponsors coming in finally. You should have had many sponsors by now in my opinion. You deserve it, and you deserve to be getting paid soooo much more for all you do for us who will forever love this game, and always watch your videos.
I think the whole creation of hagravens thing is looked at too specifically. Everyone seems to be looking for a single culprit or method, when really every possibility is equally valid. As the saying goes, "there's more than one way to skin a cat."
2:52: When one first encounters a Hagraven, perhaps the most immediate question that comes to mind is, how are these things created? Nah mate my first question was WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT
Nate! NATE! I cannot believe you didnt mention the 3 witches from Morrowind who turned into Hagravens in Skyrim.... The three hagravens inhabiting the Altar of Thrond Cave (DragonBorn) are the three sisters Isobel, Ettiene, and Fallaise from Bloodmoon expansion from Morrowind. Even if you have previously mentioned them before, I think they deserved a spot here.
I love your Lore videos so much, thank you Nate! It was fun learning about the Hagravens, they're some of the most interesting creatures in the game 🦅⚔
Last time I was this early I woke up on the back of the horsecart, bounded hands with a horse thief, a stormcloak agent and the leader of stormcloak with his mouth covered.
I got the game years ago and still haven't passed the main quest yet, I'm taking my time with it and recently started playing again. Thanks for keeping the Skyrim videos coming, it's good to know it's still alive and popular.
Near dark water passing (I think, Ill edit after I double check) in one of the basins that the waterfalls fill, there is a dead body with a brick tied to its legs. Edit: yes, it's in the basin right above dark water passing (there is another door there, leading in to dark water passing) it's next to the waterfall closest to the door, beside a boulder. incase you want to make a creepy details, or random mysteries thing.

In the letter saying her sister is on her way and together we can start a proper coven to me seems like when she says sister, it could just mean member of the coven rather than actually implying that they're biological siblings......maybe idk.
Bethesda and / or their Daedric benefactor gave them nice bums with soft white skin and skimpy panties. It's the only thing about them that is nice. Sooooo....maybe a bag over the head, a severe power washing, and a LOT of drink and she might entice some barbarian to come have a look at her only nice goods!! 😂😂

Nate: I noticed that in White River Watch there is a wolf in captivity behind a locked gated door. What is interesting is that if you attack the door with a weapon it opens and the wolf ignores you and attacks any remaining bandits. Have you seen any other doors that acts this way?
Really enjoy your videos! Skyrim is easily top 5 for RPGs (Chrono Trigger will always take the top spot). One of the biggest issues with Skyrim I thought was there is no big bad monster you want to AVOID. I always took the scenic route to avoid Deathclaws in the FO series. Wish there was something like that in the next TES VI.
Nate, I need your help. I just found a radio at Captain Dean Boats and Bait, which is next to callville bay (Fallout New Vegas) which only plays a morse code audio. Its on top of a shelf next to the shop's counter. I couldnt find any translations online and you're the only person I thought could figure this out. Please share this with him, Im extremelly curious
Illia is my favorite NPC in Skyrim. A witch raised by a witch mother, she nevertheless had thr moral fortitude to recognize evil and stand up to it. Illia is willing to fight back with or without the Dragonborn, even if it means her death. If you team up with her and stop the witches, you can invite her to be a follower, which she agrees to as a way to make up for her past misdeeds. Other than Mjoll the Lioness, there are few characters as heroic as Illia.
It is so comforting, that even in this difficult times Nate never stops digging out more mysteries about our favourite game. Thank you so much for that, brother. You are a light in the darkness. And - speaking of lights - once I found Meridia's beacon in the chest of the Hagraven that I married in my drunk condition......

@@diobrando9685 yea I member, member jaba the hutt?
It is a weird quest lol
Do hagravens lay eggs and if so could we eat one? I'm asking for an bosmer.
Would your bosmer friend want those scrambled or sunnyside up?
*Faendal sweats nervously*
"Anise is no innocent old woman, she is a witch."
Throw her into the pond!
2:52: When one first encounters a Hagraven, perhaps the most immediate question that comes to mind is, how are these things created?
Nah mate my first question was WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT
14:00 don't talk to me or my daughter ever again
I always pictured A Night to Remember as some crazy Vegas shit you do while on drugs.
"Need something?"
Wait I know you
Actually yes, you see, someone stole my sweet roll...
here, take this belly full of mead
No lollygagging.
Help some one stole my sweetroll
Stabs you with arrow in the knee
Nate!
Nate, I love all of these videos but I’m waiting for immersive mods 15!
Soon! I get a little carried away ;)
I love your Lore videos so much, thank you Nate! It was fun learning about the Hagravens, they're some of the most interesting creatures in the game 🦅⚔
That was the cutest sponsored ad ever
The sponsorship!!!! My guy!!! Congratulations that's awesome. That's how you know you made it!! Also i liked the modeling haha xD
Just use the secret passcode:
"Hands off"
Hell yeah i love mans1ay3er
Me too😂😂😂
Welcome to the internet *AYYYYYYYYEEEEE*
Whenever I go to Whiterun I always have to pay a visit to Jarl Ballin. 😂😂
You're lying, Morgan!
dude. You deserve a million subs. You have to be my favorite Skyrim youtuber ever.
Last time I was this early, all those hagravens were still marriable
...
Was this a bug in early skyrim?
@@Mothigans_Maddness I think he means they were still human
What do you mean were ?
He really pronounces the letter 'e' at the ends of words🤣
EEEEeeee.....
The way he speaks drives me insane if I pay attention.
Abalus Dumblydore Reeeeee
Always puts a smile on my face when I see Nate has uploaded a new video.
nate: "when one first encounters a hagraven, perhaps the most immediate question that comes to mind is "how are these things created"
me: *me when i first saw a hagraven* "wtf is this thing?"
Burning Ace Me: I wonder if I can kill it
In the letter saying her sister is on her way and together we can start a proper coven to me seems like when she says sister, it could just mean member of the coven rather than actually implying that they're biological siblings......maybe idk.
The hag-raven with a son may well have born him as a human witch, before undergoing her transformation, you know.
Great, I was just searching to a video that could help me fall asleep. Not that your videos are boring, you just have a very calming voice. Thanks Nate, love your work. Stay healthy
Last time I was this early emperor Titus mede the 2nd was still alive
11:49 She was kidnapped by the Reachmen, not Forsworn :/ The Forsworn didn't exist back then.
One creepy thing you didn't noticed about Anise. When you loot her place and you have the Heartfire DLC (the one with adoption if I remember well). You find child clothing in her cave.
Child clothing...
6:30 " Well, I guess for now... we'll never know". Great line.
wait, was this a face reveal???
Yup
No he's shown his face before
No it isn't he's shown his face before on his Instagram I think
Just wanted to say that you’re amazing and I love your content!
It’s something me and my child bond over so please keep up the amazing work!!
I call them Nazeem's mothers
Damn...
That tru tho...
Why? Are their nests in the Cloud District, by any chance?
They kinda remind me of my mom. Wait, does that make Nazeem my half brother? 🤮
@@JaelaOrdo I guess it could be worse. They kinda remind me of my ex, but there's no way in Oblivion that I'd ever want to think what that would make Nazeem.
Not even hagravens are cruel enough to create him.
good video have loved your videos since the begining but also wanted to say that you did a good job with the sponsor plug is was a little over a minute and not like a quarter of the video! so keep up all the good work! :D and thanks for the entertainment in this tough time.!
"Fowl Beings..." I see what you did there.
fowl or foul....I made my choice
Nate: I noticed that in White River Watch there is a wolf in captivity behind a locked gated door. What is interesting is that if you attack the door with a weapon it opens and the wolf ignores you and attacks any remaining bandits. Have you seen any other doors that acts this way?
I never liked ravens and when I saw a person/raven I said nope nope nope and ran out the cave in skyrim
Perfect timing thank you ✨✍️🤲 I was just thinking " I need to fall asleep while I listen to one of ur vids " It's 00:44 Norwegian time now 💤
He can’t hear the hag ravens because he has Raycons on
Really enjoy your videos!
5 things they never told you about The Frostbite Spiders
Plz make that next
The only real answer is Todd Howard..
Todd Howard IS the dark force
Illia is my favorite NPC in Skyrim. A witch raised by a witch mother, she nevertheless had thr moral fortitude to recognize evil and stand up to it. Illia is willing to fight back with or without the Dragonborn, even if it means her death. If you team up with her and stop the witches, you can invite her to be a follower, which she agrees to as a way to make up for her past misdeeds. Other than Mjoll the Lioness, there are few characters as heroic as Illia.
Welcome N'wahs. This is where I disappeared to. I, Vivec, am Nate in Disguise!
How's the city going? Still a huge fuckin crater?
@@metetural9140 yup...
@@vivec5701 yeah maybe you shouldn't of I dunno betrayed Neravar
I quite literally watch these to sleep at night and I say thank you Nate. You have made sleep bearable and interesting
I'm having an epic time during this epidemic, stuck in my room playing skyrim all day and watching youtube.
Damn I'm earlier then parents at the airport lmao
wolfie gurl🐺 Last time I was this late, the Great War was already over
The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal just mod for skyrim is so nostalgic and good time I love the way you show of the author hard work in hammerfell. May shadows guide you.
Nate: all-
My first thought: Ul
(You know, like Ulfric Stormcloak.)
I’m late, but man I just wanna day I’m proud of you for coming this far man. Been watching since the beginning
Last time I was this early I gave a crap about Faendal
That's too bad. If you had been just a tad earlier, you could have given a crap about Sven, too.
One of my biggest pet peeves to this day about this game is that you can't reveal both their misdoings.
Anyone else come across a hagraven in a cage that’s at the entrance to a hidden tower named Melka who asks you to help her get her “pretty tower back” from her sister who’s also a hagraven named Petra?? This quest soo should have been added. It brings its own mysteries
Here’s the real question what type of sick man would love a hagraven
Love is blind?
A Falmer
Deadly drunk?
Statistically there has to be at least one person who would totally fuck a Hagraven.
Ur dad
Great video Nate. I was lacking much knowledge on the lore of Hagravens. :)
