This town has taken nearly 300 hours to build between myself and 1 other player. It features a gorgeous waterfront, an incredibly detailed longhouse, captured church, a farm for raising 2 star wolves and boars, a gatehouse, garden, farm, mead hall, functioning sundial, drydock, elaborate bridge, water well, linen and barley factory, barn, graveyard, archery range and gazebo. it is ever expanding and will be updated as we go.

This build is INSANE. The only downside of this is the amount of maintenance you have to do every time it rains, even on video, I see a lot of damaged pieces.
I don't bother repairing them they only go down to 50% health and the green doesn't bother me.
Also, check out the updated video this is weeks old now. The city is much different

@@GhostBuilds theres a mod that disables rain dmg to wood. or u can download a mod that only visually keeps the wood its normal color =D
@@Caramelgurl365 that mod wouldn't work for me because a lot of my builds actually use the weathering mechanic to its Advantage for example the floor inside my round house has the world tree pattern the branches are brown but the leaves are green

I'm infinitely more impressed by the noticeable lack of crippling lag than I am by anything else, to be honest...I built a base not even half this size and that world is unplayable now xD

this is the old video, the current updated one is 400 hours in and the city is about 40- 50% bigger.

Knowing that wood degrades with the weather, it'll be such a hassle to repair all the exposed wooden structures

And yes, actually, the new version is better... one of the great reasons to watch your videos is not only the great creations and the superb tutorials, but... if you watch the ancient videos, like this one, first... you can watch the evolution of your techniques.
So spending a half dozen hours watching you improve will save me a hundred hours in game (I may have a few hundred hours in my game, I'm not gonna say).

I'm sure this has been said already but man that bridge is SO cool. It's got such an elvish look. I think I'll implement something like it in my plains skybase from one of the pillars to the nearby mountain! thanks for the inspiration.

is it called lagcity? :D jokes aside, pretty cool village, sadly not possible to play in or near it bc the game doesnt allow it :( also the wood getting destroyed by the rain looks ugly and really destroys the picture, there is a mod that prevents that from happening tho... if u dont mind using mods that is.
I play in this town every night and I get about 30 frames per second. Although it's not ideal you get used to it
Very creative use of materials! Respect. Any FPS left? My FPS drops to the 20's when I build bigger unfortunately.

the repair job on that must be a huge pain as there is so much storm damage exposed wood xD
I don't repair anything. The health only goes down to 50% and the green doesn't bother me
@@GhostBuilds A lot of that wood was 100% though so unless this video was recorded before the next rain how else do you keep the wood at 100%? Like the wood used on the Bridge, the floor wood was 50% but the beams were 100%.
@@dibaterman 45 and 26 degree beams are immune to rain damage and most of my builds use 45 and 26 degree beams. That's why everything is 100% as you say. Only vertical and horizontal beams floors and walls and workbenches are affected by rain
Obviously the Bridge is a focal point of praise. The thing that caught my eye, however, is the Livestock barn. I have needed a solution for my tamed creatures and that is SUCH an obvious fix... (quoting Jimmy Buffet here:) it plumb eluded me!
To those who are up in arms about MOD users or those using the console to help their creative efforts; You are missing the point. It is not suggested that you would use this in game as such. It is a showcase of what they decided to do with the resources. They are inspiring. Take, for example, the team that build LOTR's Barad Dur in the Ashlands. It is wicked cool. Wholly impractical but a great piece of art.
Some of us, myself included, are beleagered by absolutely terrible performance (3fps/ 333 ms) and cannot play the game hardly at all. For my part, I am using the console and building cool things. It's about all I can do until they figure out how to fix the performance for top end PC. That said... I have over 660 hours in game. This is a testament to the allure of the game and its simple awesomeness. I will wait - for years if must be - for the fixes. But I will not be idle while doing so.

Would you consider uploading a Vbuild file since it would definitely be more appropriate than an entire world save?There seems to be a lot of people who just wan't to interact with your artwork.
I get this comment a lot. I am not going to share my entire city. the reason is if I do its very easy for people to rip off my city for content and not give the source of the build. I am however slowly releasing vbuild files of specific buildings like the roundhouse for example. I just uploaded that today. there is also an updated video uploaded for this city as this is outdated now.

Beautiful build all around. i love that you havent flattende everything out into plateaus, but kept the landscape somewhat dynamic. My own builds tend to look very flat and square, so im here looking for inspiration :)
I like to build in a way that isn't too "planned" like a city being laid out in blocks. I prefer everything to be random looking

how did you build all this without worrying about terraforming issues. i get really discourage building when my fps starts dropping when i try to expand :(

Unfortunately this is a captured church. Many Christians were harmed in the capturing of this church... Hense the execution pyre inside
love the stone-outlined portals. I'm using that!
I've since moved those portals to a dedicated portal hub Roundhouse which you will see in the new updated video on my channel uploaded the other day. The Roundhouse is extensively detailed. Probably one of my favorite builds so far. It has a waterproof roof without the use of thatch roofs. Check my channel for the updated video of the town of Aegirheim

Nice build 🤠👌 i saw u using small gates as for animalpen etc. If u dig down, snap The door on lower edge, highten The grund, voila u get a half door outside 😃 can do this inside as well. Nice way to get half Doors and gates. 😃👌For stabels, animal pens etc.

I don't repair them. the weather mechanic only damages the pieces down to 50% max. the green effect doesn't bother me and sometimes i use it to my advantage to have small details stick out

This looks amazing! Love the bridge. Just out of curiosity, how many instances is this place (hit F2). We have a place that's pushing 32k bc my friend doesn't know the meaning of, don't build big. LOL
FPS is a solid 6.
Last time I checked it was just over 50k. Not sure what it's at today. I get about 30 to frames-per-second but I've also optimized the game as best I can for frames per second

The village could do with more trees
The trees have been removed for insurance purposes. We are not covered for tree damage
