As an absolute God-awful builder in a game I have 1300+ hours in, this makes me cry. You are probably THE premier builder in this game, and I've been saying that for a year and a half. My wife and I want to come visit. Maybe buy a pair of burial plots.
i agree wen i see the content creators builds, makes me wanna un install.. lol.. just so good.. the imagination.. gosh.
It will be interesting to see the builds after the Xbox release when more and more people start to add to the community. Crazy skills and wouldn't like to think about how long this video would be in real time!

I think the best part of this is that you actually built it without flying around and infinite ress, you actually did the scaffolding and workbench/forge requirements like was intended! Love to see dedicated builders like me still out there, and the skills you display are amazing!
This whole build was absolutely amazing, what amazes me even more, is the fact debug mode was not used. He grabbed all the materials from carts and etc. Ive seen a lot of builds and very few come without debug mode, and no flying :) Hats off to you.
he still used mods or devcommands, the trees and bushes are not vanilla build pieces. Great build none the less though looks amazing, I wish the devs would give us the ability to grow bushes/trees and what not, specially berry bushes.
Well, the plants, spontaneous trees that never have seeds, crazy amounts of ultra-rare materials, end-game build items, and obviously modded to get the panning time-lapse camera views all point to some assistance behind the scenes. Also - no raids, storms, night-time (day cycles), and a few other Mod-Only tricks (such as the use of "mount anything" in a few cases). THIS IS NOT VANILLA Valheim. (still a great outcome)
However, building without flying is nice, although there are mods that move the camera and not the player, so that could be going on. A few instances seem to hint at that, like building the crane as the extension arm was outside the build distance from the player and extending away from them preventing snapping to the item control points.
In all, I would compliment the range of designs and level of detail in each piece given the limited range of building elements. Very good feel for the aesthetics.
Yet, there would appear to be at a minimum of 8 different mods being used in this video.
- Plant anything and/or Mount Anything
- Spawn anything (for none planting trees and endless materials)
- Time Lapse / Movie camera
- No Raids
- No Storms
- No Day/Night Cycle **
- Camera Move building

Odin : As a mortal, you have not proven worthy enough to enter Valhalla, and thus, you must strive in Valheim to be allowed to join the gods and heroes in the golden halls.
Player : Build a pretty village and chill around.
Odin : Heimdall, call Thor real quick I got a job for him.
One of the most satisfying parts of this video is how you are building in the default gamemode. No flying or instant materialization of goods. It means you’re using building techniques that we can all use in our own playthroughs!

@@NimrodClover Yeah I noticed some of this too. I think they make it pretty obvious they’re using mods and cheats. It’s just that, since they’re building without flying, it means all the angles can be done in survival mode. So it’s nice that, with enough grind, this could theoretically be done in a regular playthrough.
EDIT: I didn’t notice the camera-assisted placement moments. That’s unfortunate if it’s the case.
Seems a bit unfair that someone is dancing on the path while the other guy is doing all the building... This is such an awesome village man well done!!

Whenever I play Valheim or Minecraft with my friends I try my absolute best to not break whatever they put down so I can build it my way lmao, sometimes they just let me do my thing while they work on something else because they know it's what I want lol

If the devs add villagers that we can bring to our created villages, this game is golden for me. I don't have any friends to play this game with so it feels a bit like a grind sometimes. Seeing NPCs in my created village would really boost this game for me 👌

Absurdly good. Looks like a dev-made village in a AAA game and it was built with snap-together survival game parts by a player. It looks warm and welcoming, but also real and lived-in. Great job.
Each of these houses and structures are deserving of a video in it of themselves.
Maybe bite sized, 5min videos quickly going over the build process for them would work.
Gosh that was such a pleasure to watch bare land come to life like that. It's so realistic and so pretty to look at. You could stare at the pictures for ages seeing new detail. So talented

I love that you've built this mostly Vanilla and that some of the decisions were on the fly meaning this wasn't preorganized to a T or anything, absolutely amazing build!

I watched the whole video with my mouth open in awe.
Let's all give the 'camera person' a round of applause for the recording angles in this video.
This is by far the most beautiful build you've done so far (and ambitious too!). The scale is mind-blowing enough but it also maintains that nice cozy lived-in look you get in all your smaller scale work as well. Also, love the amount of greenery and gardens. The oak in the old busted up lighthouse was a lovely touch as well.
But V, if you could do something very special for my wife and I? We would like to know the title of the track that plays at 10:40 when you start work on the docks and the crane. That song is very special to us as it was pretty iconic to another content creator we had known fairly well who passed away at the end of January this year. Which also makes this build doubly special, because not only is it incredibly inspiring, but brought back a lot of fond memories of our friend as well. He had the best laugh in the world to us... but luckily your laugh (and Basics) fill that void well enough. 😄

You made some awesome choices, like building the village around waterways and growing a tree out of an old building. But I admire most the more mundane things about this build, like the normal-sized cozy (and very beautiful) homes and the ample farmland. Makes me want to live there!

This is why Valheim needs to be an MMO. We build all these massive structures/villages, and no one can use them or see them. We need old-school Shadowbane and Valheim to netflix'n chill so we can enjoy its offspring. Imagine going exploring to distant lands and coming across this village with npc vendors (enlisted by owners of said village). Would be awesome.
Truly truly epic job, over 5000 hours mostly building in this game and couldn't dream of anything as imaginative and awesome as this! SO much work and did look like you didn't just press b but actually gathered the resource.

Unpopular opinion, but I truly believe Valheim's building mechanics compete well with games like Minecraft. There's so much you can do with so little and it always impresses me how everything snaps together perfectly. Fine work my man
I agree. It's so designed so well. I love the fact that you have to build with structural integrity in mind, yet the system is simple to understand. I had a blast building a huge castle with a friend, we are so proud of our creation!
I seriously don't know how people can have the vision (never mind the patience) to do this. Mind boggling. Well done. My thing is writing, storytelling. I s'pos we all have a skill or gift. Just wish I could do something only 1% as good as any of this! Amazing work.

Love being able to finally do builds this big and not having much of a framerate issue thanks to the grid that divides the map, Personally I seek out the grid prior and keep within 11k instances. Also worth mentioning Valheim is a ram hog so as long as you don't have other stuff running in the background or allowing your cpu to get to warm it becomes seem less. The builds you do are quite amazing! I wish without a mod you could plant those shrubs and thistle etc same with berries lol.

And here I am, getting stuck trying to find a space for a small 20x20 property. You have your own Manhattan-like man-made islands to build something this awesome on.
It really is beautful and looks really awesome.
There's just a part in me that sees something that bothers me. It's something many player-build villages and game-developer build villages and cities suffer from. They don't look real.
What I mean by that is, fortresses, cities and villages have a natural growth to that. For example all might begin with a simple farm. It is a single house at first and through necessity a barn gets added, another storage-house, as the farm grows, more people are needed to work it, so houses get added. A farm growing into a village also means that the owner gets wealthier. With an increasing size of the hamlet, other craftsmen come to settle there, thus a blacksmith workshop may be build and so forth until the farm has become a village and maybe a city.
But the point is, when we plan to build a village, we plan to build a village. We place buildings, where we think they would make sense or would look good. On our ConanExiles server, we do not plan ahead how we build our base, but add buildings by necessity, while trying to keep them as close together as possible, while also trying to place things logically. You wouldn't want stables right next to the kitchen for example. And naturally grown villages and towns have a potential to look weird and even be impractical at times.
And buildings get reworked, get bigger or replaced to make room for other important buildings that need to be in that place.
I'm not trying to say your builds are in anyway bad. They are not, they are incredible, they just have this "planned"-feel to them, which is in this kind of builds unavoidable.
I hope to god we can get the ability to place greenery/plants like this in survival mode gameplay. A little foliage goes *so* incredibly far.
