The short coarse platform is great . I’m glad they upgraded and sealed that gear cavity. What a little firecracker now.
Looks cool. Would like to see a side by side comparison with the Slash or Senton.
Got mine from Time tunnel models uk today ,I am happy with it as a value bundle, but , Esc not plugged in properly (had to open it up and plug it into channel2 on the receiver) , Steering servo screw came out on first run and hit a curb and broke a bumper ( two new screws put in to fix it ) , BUT , after all that , i have to say , it handles like a dream , has a fair bit of power and speed on 2S , the 3250mah battery lasted 15 mins once charged , my Gensace 2S 4000mah lasted 20 mins . This is my first brushless 1/10 , so not alot to compare it to . I think it is good value in the UK, (the original one this is based on is NOT the same , this has better centre diff and electronics and motor too ). It was this or the Senton , and i think this is better value , so far . . . . . .only the test of time will tell. Is there a better alternative with these for 230 pounds ? ( TIME TUNNEL WERE AMAZING ! THEY PROVIDED ME WITH THE BITS TO GET IT WORKING AND IT IS AMAZING ) I completely agree with Tomley !

Then there are people that would like to rate the RUclips algorithm, it's the same kind of people that give a certain product a 1 star rating, just to say in the review that the product is awesome but that shipping was slow or customer service sucks, hence the 1 star. (For those that don't know: websites like trustpilot and yelp are for rating stores).
Late comment here .. few years late lol .. even now this truck at this price point is untouchable! I’ve had the brushed one and still rocking this one.. going to buy another for the hell of it, before they disappear from the market.. sure you could buy a Senton at near on 400 quid, but I like the challenge of keeping the zorro on the edge 👊🏼
Are there many upgrades options for these?
That new shell is a great colour!! Much more striking than the blue of the old brushed car. My son has one sitting in the loft waiting for his birthday in October. That came with a 2nd shell the previous owner had painted. It's British Racing Green, with some scale bits on it, and looks very different, but that orange is brilliant.
It'll be interesting to see how the Zorro performs against my Senton 550 Mega, and I'm sure they'll both be brushless, very soon. 👍🏻

FTX make some good budget RC's. Great for people getting into the hobby. I have two in my collection. Both still work fine, had no issues. Great job Phil. Thanks for sharing. John
Ftx don't make rc cars , they just rebrand them from a China company 👍👍
While off brand rigs aren’t my absolute favorite, I have several in my fleet snd they have there place. I think it’s important to do some research when buying Chinese brand trucks like ZD Racing, WL Toys, feigh, and the like as there are some models that aren’t great, they either have design flaws like a component that becomes a weak link, can be poorly put together, or just plain low quality. On the other hand, most of these companies have models that shine and are well thought out, so you just want to make sure you avoid the former and make sure to purchase the ladder. I collect cars and must have about 50 cars runnIng the gamut from 1/28 race cars to 1/5 xmax and sometimes I just want to add something a little different. I just purchased a zd racing 1/10th brushless street car that out of the box has a diff so poorly meshed it doesn’t have 4 wheel drive, but that’s been much less the norm. I also bought a ZD racing db10 that works great and was assembled pretty well, and all the WL toys buggy series from 1/18 to 1/10 have performed and been assembled well. The Chinese even have a few higher end cars that seem to be well done, I just ordered a great deal on the ZD 07 which is similar to the arrma felony. I have a felony but thought the ZD offered enough differences to be a worthwhile addition and gave me a much less expensive way to add a second similar car when I want to run them with my son. While I haven’t received it yet most reports are when ordered without electronics and some basic adjustments are done it’s an excellent car. My point is, while these Chinese models are usually not the same quality as Arrma and Traxxass, they can be high value offerings that add variety and value to a hobbyists arsenal of choices. They also serve a valuable function of establishing value levels that will and do create pricing pressure on the major companies to stay competitive especially as there quality rises. So Mr Tomley, p,ease keep up the good work, it’s your reports on some of these Chinese models that have helped guide me on which to add to my collection

Time Tunnel models were SOOOO helpful , i got the parts and , YES ! this is amazing ! it handles so well and is so much fun ! I may even get another for my son for xmas and we can share races !

I've had the nitro version for over 2 years you will need the front end below the front diff upgrade to metal because a little crash and it breaks but its worth it still going now

You need to stop now Mr Tomley! Since discovering your channel a few weeks back (and subscribing!) my Carisma M10S has been joined in the workshop by numerous MN and WPL kits, a Tamiya Grasshopper and an Axial 1/24 SCX Deadbolt. Having a centre diff makes all the difference Phil,if these diffs are sealed oil filled ones,then the tuning possibilities are endless. It'll be interesting to see just how fast it is on 2s and then 3s.

Have you seen the Outlaw videos posted by a chap who has a channel called The RC Scotsman? He’s had so many problems with breakages it’s become a running joke with him! Isn’t the brushed Zorro effectively the same as the Outlaw just different wheels and body? Hopefully this new chassis is stronger.

Its basically a vrx cobra violence with different wheels and body.
Sell loads of the Zorro brushed cars with very few problems, like he says he seemed to of got a Friday car(pup).

That is a VRX Cobra Blast 2.0 or the VRX Cobra RH817/818 with a different wheels and body and an FTX badge on it. Same company that produces the Vantage/Bugsta/Carnage for FTX/CML Distribution. Most of the parts besides the center diffdrive and chassis/braces are identical to Vantage/Carnage.

Good review, just bought an ftx outback after watching one of your reviews. Didn't think much of the brand before, always been an arrma fan personally, however they don't make crawlers. The zorro looks great fun. Looks like it performs well, would love to try one to see what it would be like against an 3S arrma senton. May invest in one for my son, well me really.

i think it may have the outlaw top chassis on it , you can remove the orange and yellow section , and it leaves you with a STRONG frame , like the 124018 . . . . . .( the stock orange one does trap stones , so i built a tub from an ice cream carton and bolted it to the underneath of the orange and white body , Job done i hope ) , but yes a rally body may work well , would any 1/10 fit ?

@@John.lakesrc yes , stones and grass . I got two tesco dairy ice cream tubs , cut to fit , it works well. I also put epoxy fibreglass under the outer shell, its a bit too heavy now . . . It shifts on 3s , like mental quick. .

@@cwatson42785 It's not out in the u.s yet but it's sold by legend rc and ftx now ..It's the VRX violence truggy chassis and system with the samurai arms,shocks n shock towers..The guy from Imex wasn't clear on the chassis..The v2 is not metal but the V1 had a metal chassis

Just seen the full vid and wow that's 100% better than the old outlaw /zorro chassis . What about the steering does it still have the stupid E clip system or have they changed that .. as that was 100% rubbish idea . .
