    For the people saying he could have it on higher drag you are wrong you want to set your drag to about half the strength of your line. So if he has 130lb then he should set it to 65lbs of drag.

      Wow, the complications we put ourselves in because we want to sport fish. I love fishing, but not sport fishing, I don't have to satisfy any self accomplishments or adrenaline male rush, I fish for peace and enjoyment and FOOD, to put an animal through that kind of stress for my own selfish fetish is completely inhumane and wasteful. Tournament and Sport fishing ought to be outlawed.

    • @allwrightadventures6675
      @allwrightadventures6675 3 года назад +3

      @@FishinWithAlex that's true but I was just saying to prevent the line from breaking a good rule is to set your drag to half of the line strength you can go a bit above that but you can run the risk of it snapping like if you set the drag to 100lbs and the shark suddenly takes off it could snap the 130lb line

      @@allwrightadventures6675 yeah on mine I have 1500 yards of 150lb hollow core and I have it set to 75 at full seems to do the trick or sometimes I’ll have it set a little higher at full and as I get down the spool since there’s less drag the farther you go down you can crank it up more

    I’m not buying any shark ran that hard, that long, and that smoothly at 65 pounds of drag. And you wouldn’t be that calm if one actually did. I’m guessing someone put there presets down low on this reel.

    that ain't a tiger, not in cold water and I can't imagine a tiger run that fast, a record size bull would be more likely, but still they usually take it way slower, my best guess would be a big hammer, most common, especially in january if you were in the south, if not a big mako or a white are about the only thing I know that could live in ANY the north states waters at wintertime, eat a sharkbait and run like this! of course makos and whites also live in the south and could be it just as well, but especially in Florida hammers are WAY more common.

      @@offshoreadventures8262 I doubt it was a great white, they dont run too much they just use their weight against you. Probably a big mako

      matt c could be, but makos make blistering runs. This was heavy and had a pretty steady run, I think it got in the current towards the end..
