Mate, put 130lb/150/200lb braid on there. 150lb topshot & you will stop a whale. He just didn't use all his 125lbs of available drag. I would have cranked it up before letting it spool me. Why not, when you're gone lose the line anyway? What's the difference between popping the line with too much drag, or losing it all out to sea? At least if you tried & broke it, then all that braid wouldn't be out in the ocean, maybe still attached to the shark, likely ultimately killing it. Or killing other wildlife. Nobody gets spooled on an Avet TRX 80/2W Quad, if they use all its drag, with strong enough line.
@@dreamteamlbsf5921 how much line and what pound do you need for that kind of fishing? we have big great white sharks swimming near the shore close to where i live

I’m going to try for hammers for my first time and I’m only using a avet TRX 80w you got me worried now lmao
You got 100+ pounds of drag you don’t got nothing to worry about

Nice video
The Trx puts out 130lbs of drag, you coulda stopped that fish
He would go flying
It’s almost impossible to put 100lbs of drag on a fish while your fighting if rod in hand
He definitely could of turned the drag up a bit more, but yeah I mean max drag is something you don’t do

Wait, I know this place. Lol
Everybody whose serious about shark fishing knows this place. Not a huge group of people who are crazy enough to buy 2k to 3k dollar setups to do it.
You might have been snagged on a submarine that reel was cookin lol
