I think Silent Acropolis looks really good, but I don't think it's a good remake of Acropolis, since it doesn't capture the claustrophobic feeling Acropolis had, travelling through ruins and performing tight timings to barely squeeze through. I can't say I like anything about THIS remake though...
I disagree... Acropolis is not themed around claustrophobia.. it's themed around a castle of some sort and I are invading it... Silent acropolis just emphasises the theme to 11.. looks great and is a really good remake of the original.. not perfect as the silent version has some parts that have different gameplay like the 2 player cube before the 1st ship.. it's great but by no means perfect so I can give u that
I agreed with some parts of this video, but i think the problem is that a big part of the arguments are essentially shitting or just make fun of the level, and that's not bad at all, but the lack of serious well-constructed arguments are what could be improved. Its important for you to keep a firm position while explaining your point, otherwise it will be hard for people to take you seriously. For the rest i would like to point how you should not always group the whole team projects as one. What i mean, you mentioned the Purgatory and Cherry teams to only make "unoriginal remake levels", and this felt again like shitting over them as teams as a whole, involving all their projects, when in reality is not like that at all. Cherry team has some amazing original levels (Shinigami, Neur Abscence, Cytokinesis), and the same with Purgatory (Bete Noire), they do have some original levels, and even if they tend to make more remakes, you still you can't generalize in that way. For the rest i'd say both teams have super talented creators who know what they are doing, and its certain that they may not choose what they build for, since its the host choice, but under a level creation standpoint, they do a really greay job in the levels (if we see them as separated levels and not as linked to others like remakes or sequels). Its kinda the "objetive viewpoint" but i dont like to use that word a lot. Thats pretty much all i have to say as feedback, just make sure if you are gonna give an argument, make it so its well constructed and can be defended without depending on fallacies. Aswell as keeping more serious arguments than "make-fun" ones. So yeah. Also please lower the music and effects volume, your voice gets lost at times because of this
I agree with 90% of this video. The only thing I disagreed with is that I actually really like Silent Acropolis('s decoration). I've always loved art levels. And I think it looks stunning. Anyways, yeah that why Boreas is a much better level than this. While people try to spread misinformation about the level, Boreas is NOT in any way a remake of Black Blizzard. Boreas is able to create it own identity and it even has a story. And the gameplay is extremely enjoyable and welcoming for players who want to start beating extreme demons. And the sfx for it you have to go out of your way to get it. It's not on by default, it's a NONG. (because it's a 2.1 level, before people spammed sfx everywhere in levels now.) It's a travesty that it only got a star rate. I could keep going on and on about how good that level is but I think you get my point.
idek what boreas is honestly, and yeah, silent acropolis LOOKS good, but silent acropolis' charm came from it's original deco. that's what I don't like about it :)
@@GadoGD Ah got it. Yeah, maybe if Silent Acropolis wasn't made as remake then it could find it's own charm. But yeah I'd highly recommenced giving Boreas a try. All of his rated levels try to have an on going story to it. Unfortunately the creator quit the game after almost a decade. It's because he is just sick and tired of the gd community. He most likely won't come back, but if he decided for some reason to come back, it probably won't be for a very long time. If your curious about the story of Boreas here it is. You’ve been sent on a recon mission. Some remote island. There’s been evidence of some sort of cult that’s been up to some shady business, to put it lightly. You can’t afford any slip-ups. Your career is riding on this. And not just that, but who knows how far this rabbit hole goes? You set sail, embarking for the island. A storm catches you off-guard. It’s a tough battle, and the storm is winning. Land is in sight however, you’re almost there. The ship is destroyed. Unfortunately, no one else made it; you’re the only survivor. It’s dark, you can’t see the moon through the clouds. After scrounging through what you can find, you make your way to what appears to be a lighthouse, illuminated by the lightning in the distance. Clearly the island is inhabited. By who, still has yet to be made known. There’s no one here. This place clearly hasn’t been in use for a while. The door is boarded up shut, but that’s not enough to deter you. You need shelter to make a fire in the rain, or hypothermia is going to set in. Using a crowbar you managed to salvage from the shipwreck, the fragile wood blocking the entrance didn’t stand a chance. You light a fire, and prepare yourself for a long night. Morning comes. You weren’t killed in your sleep. That’s a good start. Even though your team is dead, the mission must be completed. You collect your things and move out. Exploring the island shows more signs of civilization, though extremely old and torn down. You find wood pillars that may have been houses at one point, but nature has reclaimed the forest. Then it catches your eye. A clear path that leads to a cave. With how run down the rest of this place is, it’s very odd that there’s something that looks relatively new. Perhaps what you’re looking for is in there. It’s also probably a good idea to get out of the cold. The inside of the cave is just as run down as the exterior. Pushing further in, you begin to see signs of activity: footprints. Treading with caution, you venture forward, only to be interrupted with a sharp blow to the head from behind. Waking up once again you find yourself at the shipwreck the night prior. You unfortunately do not have any memories of what happened and are doomed to repeat the same events again. The island is stuck in a time loop. If you collect certain items during the loop (coins), you can break the cycle, and escape the island.

British people with a following of -6 have a weird affinity for this level lol. I'm pretty in the middle on Dark Dimension. Having watched the way it's progressed from the first preview it's clear they care about making something 'good' and it's a decent job at bringing Black Blizzard up to modern standards. It probably shouldn't exist, but I'd still say it's a 6/10, with something as good as Black Blizzard the best they were going to get would be a semi-decent reimagining of the level if it was built in 2022-2024, and they did that.
