- My honest review of the motion design showreels submitted by my subscribers, with feedback on how to make an even better first impression on new paying clients. This is the fourth episode of this series.
Thanks to everyone who submitted your reels, I'm sorry I couldn't get through all of them in one episode. There were hundreds of submissions in total, but I'll be doing my best to get through them.

On the last reel, the frames with the dead body, the animation is a reveal transition from the living to dead state, totally necessary and keep that in the show! Good work all
That type of video is very informative and constructive, and we discover other talented artists that would be hard to find otherwise. I would like to see more reel reviews!

I’ve been in the industry for quite a while now and have been fortunate to have had talented seniors guiding me along the way prior to going freelance. It’s been a fun journey so far which is what’s kept me motivated to keep trying to push myself further. If you enjoy what you do then I hope you’ll keep pushing yourself and not give up! Im sorry that watching my reel made you feel that way but I feel like that a lot too so I can relate. I think creatives have a tendency to feel like that often even at the highest levels (from what I’m told) so know that you’re not alone!!

Thanks Ben for such a flattering review of my reel. Super stoked hearing that you thought my work could potentially work overseas as well, gives me a bit of confidence going forward ☺️ I’ll take on your advice for my next reel also since I need to do a new edit anyway and will look into getting a track next time that isn’t going to have copyright issues. Any advice on acquiring great loyalty free tracks anyone? Usually use premium beats but I find that 90% of them feels a tad generic for me.

Hey Leo, if subscription-based websites work for you there are options like Artlist out there. It makes a lot of sense if you need more than a few tracks per year. If you only need one or two, I would try AudioJungle. It has many mediocre tracks, but you can find good ones, too.

Keep the rugby shot. It shows real client work with logos. Its easy to show personal work and look great, showing good client work shows talent in my opinion. Its just im not sure what is real client work apart from the rugby one.
