After playing every Tekken since Tekken 3 but only casually with the boyz , im finally about to buckle down and actually learn the game. (I choose Azucena as my main to learn)
I started using Steve back in Tekken 5 after using Yoshimitsu for years (I sucked and still do). Decided I'm locking in on Steve for battling online. Having square and triangle be the primary buttons makes life a little easier with x/o being dodge related is pretty great too.
I’d say Viktor is the most beginner friendly character in T8 tbh. He has an easily accessible move for everything. The only thing is that you don’t have much launcher tools, but easy air combo tools. The only thing is that if you want to take your Tekken prowess to the next level: Get rid of the Heat and Ultimate shortcuts for 2+3 and 1+4. Because now everyone has the same inputs for ultimate and heat (which happens to be df1+2 for ultimate and standing 2+3 for Heat). Players who get too caught up in pressing the Heat shortcut end up combo’d to death anyway. While you rarely use an ultimate as soon as you get low health anyway. Having these two new commands will help you with accessories and special moves that are hard to access now. Like Jack’s spinning homing low punch, or Viktor’s most important counter move.
As a totally new Tekken player, coming from MK11, I'm maining Feng so far, as it seems people agree he's a beginner friendly character. But your video made me want to have a deeper look at Jack :) Thank you!
I do nothing but lose and I know some moves for combos but it feels like no matter what I press people attacks ALWAYS hit me first. Makes this game very unenjoyable
Gotta learn how to start a combo on a punish, learn what attacks respond at what speed - it'll create openings for you to get in there and get some hits in! As a Steve Main all I gotta do is duck/dodge and squeeze a hit in. The boxer playstyle is kind of forcing me to learn how to respond to my opponent.
Thank you for having me!

So leroys stick is usable one per match not per round damn
I don’t know if this helps me, I mean some of em has stances and I don’t think I do well with that.
