I love VH with Sammy and Dave both! It's crazy how important Michael Anthony was to this bands lineup and that was the absolute 1st thing that I noticed when they got Dave back in the band and came out with tattoo. You knew immediately that something was missing if you really know this group! (Nothing against Wolfgang because all he did was save DLR'S shitty vocals from sounding worse than they already did!) Craziest thing about this song is that you can research any live performances of this song and this is the best version hands down!!!

No way! Roth in his prime brought and edge and rawness to this song that Hagar lacks and overall VH lost that raw hard rock edge during Van Hagar era! Roth in his prime made Van Halen a better hard rock band...he fit the band better and it was just a better sound 😎

@@RockoVanClark Led Zeppelin and Queen were far better musicians than Van Halen. Even the Van Halen brothers would admit that. Take away Eddie's tapping (which was around long before Ed came along - heck, Ace Frehley was doing it back in 1975 using his pick) and Eddie's goofy guitar noises, and you have any average garage band guitarist. Van Halen were never that popular abroad. Look at their sales records. Even David Lee Roth said Eddie only had one guitar solo and simply used variations of it. The tapping sounds like a bunch of angry bees, and any child picking up a guitar can do it. Eddie used tricks to cover up the fact he wasn't even a good rhythm player. Eddie used tapping to carve out a career, and he was only successful because, at the time, it was a novelty. Ask anyone about Eddie's guitar playing, and immediately the tapping comes to mind. He was pretty much a one-trick pony that was hyped as the next Jimi Hendrix. Jimi would have buried Eddie. Eddie's last few tours were awful. His guitar playing had degenerated to the level of embarrassing. Just watch the many You Tube videos that prove it.

@@eduardogarelli7740 Hey its ok, all entitled to opinions. I saw VH live in the early 80s, Roth was a beast of a singer. His voice totally suited early VH and his stage presence was incredible. Early VH were more bluesy and Roths voice was perfect for their early sound. When Sammy came onboard they were more commercial sounding but lost something in their live shows.
In the late 70s, early 80s many bands were effeminate, Kiss,Twisted Sister,VH etc. All wore spandex and pranced like peacocks. You had to be there. I was, wouldn't change it for a thing.
