So true. Guilty😊Thanks for this video very informative & relatable.🪴
Good morning ❤
My Alocasia mix is grade 3-4 perlite, grade 1 perlite, coco chips, and a very small amount of coco coir.
What my mentor taught me was to never pot your Alocasia in dry medium. Put it in a bowl and get it wet so the coir doesn’t run out of the pot on first watering.
He also taught me to spread the roots evenly in the pot so they’re not touching each other then to backfill with medium (keep the plant suspended above the pot so you’re getting medium through the roots) and the base of the plant is only 1/2” from the top of the pot.
My alocasia mix! - orchid bark base, alot of perlite, coco chips and peat.
Mine was damaged because I kept her outside for a while 😢
Great information in this video. Keep up the great work.
Glad it was helpful!
I use bark and potting soil and Pete but never see much success unfortunately
Please do a video on what lights you use. I’m struggling in a low light apartment especially in Winter. In South Africa I can’t find those wonderful Sansi or Soltech grow lights only those small blue and red lights.
Definitely! But the unfortunate answer is that I had to order them online from UK 😢 through Amazon
@@poeticplants how long does delivery take?
@@anwarallie about 2-3 weeks, and about 300ish rand shipping
@@poeticplants thank you so much for your help. I think I'll do that. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What the easiest plant to look after as a beginner?
Probably a snake plant, very hard to kill 😊
