      The quick fill looks great but to save yourself heartache later on you should have the inlet into the tank at the highest point it can be. Your pump will be fighting the weight of the water as you are pumping. Food for thought.

      @ryanstalcup7093 technically yes. But that's also normally if you look up the specific things. Out of the 4 home/ property renovation projects I've watched on channels, this is the only one I've seen that will bring unique things to it as well though. I didn't know about the 3d scanning of property's that he showed a few videos ago. And I only knew of the process shown in this one because of military history and a interest in mining techniques

      @@ryanstalcup7093Yeah, most of the channels seem to think their viewers won't have the attention span to watch all of it in detail or don't want anything rough looking in their video.. they just snip with their fingers and it goes from old to new. Matt (and a few others of course) on the other hand, doesn't mind showing the ugly or boring processes the snap symbolises happening, no matter how niche it is and how few of his viewers might actually enjoy watching it. Somehow he manages to keep even those niche things funny, interesting and short enough for people not to mind or feeling the urge to skip - he's the perfect all-in-one package for everyone. 😂

    Make sure your water nozzles are removable so they can be cleaned out. Also, consider leaving the tank to pump valve cracked open any time you start the pump so the pump is never dry. It will save the pump.

    FYI, that yellow line connected to the blasting cap isn’t det cord. It is non-electric shock tube aka non-el shock tube, basically a plastic straw coated with explosive powder. The electric spark from the igniter sends a spark down the tube and ignites the explosive chain of TNT and ammonium nitrate/fuel oil mixture. Good times!! That almost sounded like an MG42 firing off.

    • @ruaboutasize14
      @ruaboutasize14 11 месяцев назад

      some of the charges may have got muted by the now dynamic flow of rock from the previous explosion, but even if the charges did not go, they are pretty much inert because 1) the initiator has been triggered and 2) the booster (that long yellow stick) has or has not been exploded. The thing about ANFO is it needs both the initiator and the booster to detonate. That's why the whole crew was so comfortable just plying with the pink dust pouring it into the buckets and down into the holes. It's a relatively safe product to work with.

    Mat the sprayers on the back of the trailer that you want to make for spraying the roads all you need is two thread on caps for your upright pipes then cut a slot in the back of them for the water to spray out of. We have that exact setup on our water truck at work and it works awesome. Also with them being threaded on if they get plugged you can take them off to clean out. Hope this helps.

    Gotta do some training with that fire trailer when it’s finished. Some pumps can be real finicky with priming, and even worse with drafting from a pond. Some of the pumps we used when I was still doing wildland fire had to have water hand pumped into the pump head or they wouldn’t function. Good to make sure everything runs as expected before you need it emergently.

    We had a bunch of blasting done at our Coal Mine and what they used was Anfo (Ammonium Nitrate/Fuel Oil). Always Cool to watch and it normally shut everything down. Thats also what was used by Timothy McVeigh in the Oklahoma City Bombing and pretty much why we can buy Ammonium Nitrate at the Feed Store anymore. I started laughing when Matt said there wouldn't be anything to see because it would all be happening underground, LOL!

    Back in the 90s i had fun in a stainless steel engineering /fab shop , we built 6 or 7 explosive delivery trucks for the big British chemical company. Big tank for urea and a few smaller ones for the additives , fancy aluminium tailight bezels were even fabricated , i had to weld all the hydraulic fittings to go from one code to another for whatever reason , it was THAT involved. Great fun times in a great shop with great blokes.

    You can try the water system on the trailer but fair warning you need a bypass valve so the water can go back into the tank and if you're not using the water from the pump because if not you'll get a high pressure buildup as long as it's not too much cuz it could bust the pipes we water gravel here at work and we got three water-wagon set up but we have a bypass hose when you flip the water off at runs into the tank it's electric nozzle on a ball valve so when it shuts off it starts pumping it back into the top of the tank but when you need it you can flip it the other direction starts pumping we need to go so it does not create pressure
