    Matt: SERIOUSLY consider hydroseeding your embankments ASAP. Use a starter fertilizer and a blend of quick germinating nurse grass mixed with native prairie grasses, plus hydromulch and double the standard tackifier in the tank.
    WAY cheaper than repairs.
    You are at risk of a major blowout because it is steep, and it being recently placed fill.
    Use your firetruck to water every other day for a week - 10 days.

    • @djmadcow
      @djmadcow 4 месяца назад +2

      The cost vs benefits of a stageright system wouldn't balance out, for his needs.
      One of there greatest strengths is transportation. However, these would only need to be transported every so often, while never going into storage. Making some of the benefits useless and longevity vastly shorter.

    • @aminon5437
      @aminon5437 4 месяца назад +2

      @@djmadcow I’ve been building stages in every type of environment for a decade. And have never seen a stage right system on a tour. It almost exclusively used by the arenas, and local staging companies that build in ballrooms, and remote locations.
      The benefit of stage right is by no means the portability, as that crown goes to Tait.
      Stageright’s benefit is its compact-ability, and modular/diverse staging builds. They make all terrain stages systems that can fit a 60x40 stage into 100 sq ft space. And can be built by 5-6 people in 2 hours.

    • @djmadcow
      @djmadcow 4 месяца назад +2

      @@aminon5437 Exactly my point.. Matt's needs are for outdoors/ semi-permanent. Your listing indoor experience. Be it Stageright, Tait, G-set, Versa stage, and so on, I've delt with them all for outdoor festival set ups, since the late 90's. Same concept just different brands.
      None are ideal for long term outdoor semi-permanent stages.. They can be made that way but costs more. They are great for fast teardown, set-up, and modular ability. not to mention mechanical additions. As well as transportation, like mentioned before. That is why all big bands touring use them. They can easily fit in a semi for a full custom stage transported all across the world easily.
      So again the cost + needs vs benefits/ drawbacks, do not adjust out, from a well designed stage that can be moved around by a bobcat in pieces, or stacked on a trailer, just as easy.

    The key to get the concrete to set up faster is a product called high early (typically see 1-2% as an additive) Also, the slump of the concrete that was placed looked a little soupy. Decrease the slump to a 6-7 and utilize a concrete vibrator in the deep strap beam sections and you’ll be good to go!
    FYI using hydro seed with RYE to spray slops of topsoil at the range!

    Hey Matt, maybe you can try that grass seed stuff they spray on the side of the highways and interstates. It sticks really well and produces grass very quickly, like only a few days and it’s set and growing. Just a suggestion for you guys. Hope y’all are doing well! Keep it up Matt you are an inspiration to many!

    In your event space, consider adding a small building that has restrooms for guests and a couple of rooms for the bridal and groom parties to get ready. Wouldn’t have to be much, maybe like a larger hotel room with a small bathroom for each.

    12:15 That would be a great place for a band to set up for some concerts. Imagine evenings in the month of December with a 'Christmas Concert at the Desperado Resort' (it's Texas it ain't that cold yet) with the outdoor fireplace going, brisket coming off the pit, people eating in the pavilion while others sit listening to the band or dancing. Garland decorations on the out buildings, hot chocolate, marshmallow roasting (love me a perfectly caramelized marshmallow). That is a great little venue within a bigger venue! Toss this idea at Mere and see if it would meet corporate approval.

    Stretch some burlap on your dirt mound at the range. It will stop erosion and hold grass seed. It comes in huge rolls that you pin into the dirt, then irrigate lightly 3 times a day.

    To get seed to grow on the berm you may need to use excelsior mat or hydroseed it. Hydroseeding would probably be the best way to go. Of course it's more expensive.

    16:44 you really need to do some erosion control on that Berm if you want the good soil to stick and grow grass. Get some jute net and some wattles. Put that out and either seed it by hand, hydro seed it, or just throw some rye straw down that has seed in it and that would help even

    Matt..the Pavillion area is fantastic..I didn't realize it existed until now. Such an easy project..and would be the visual you use to confirm that your headed forward! Think of the cook offs or community dinners that could be held..or movie nite under the texas stars with a giant blowup outdoor screens...very cool. The administration building is looking breezy but good. I do have to state the obvious, the drainage tunnel that opened up right next to it is a bit concerning. You can always back the concrete truck up and fill it up..OOOOOOR you can dig it out and make your own "Matt-Cave", with your own Matt signal...EPIC, right?! Think about it. Keep up the momentum your getting there. We all have faith that you can get this done.

    Put winter wheat or rye down on the berm first when it sprouts plant the grass the taller grass will hold the seed of the regular grass. Eventually the smaller grass will choke out the wheat or rye and you will have a green berm.
